In this study, the flaws in the several test specimens are detected by using a C-Scan system. The following results are obtained through this research; 1. How to detect the flows in the specimens 2. How to determine the depth of the flaws in the specimens 3. How to determine the size of the flaws in the specimens 4. How to determine if the specimen is in one piece or not and how to detect defects at the joining part 5. Analysis by using Linear Profile and 3D View In order to determine the depth and size of the flaws in the specimens precisely, it is very important to operate the C-Scan system properly.

There are three types of high fluidity concrete: powder based, VMA based, and combined. In the case of the powder based high fluidity concrete mixture, according to the textbook, increased viscosity due to the replaced fly ash can prevent segregation of coarse aggregate. On the other hand, decreased density of the powder due to the fly ash replacement can causes segregation but there is no report on this issue. Therefore, in this research, the segregation resistance and segregation evaluation method for powder based high fluid concrete mixture are evaluated. As a result, with increased replacing ration of supplementary materials, EIS value was decreased and apparently segregation resistance was increased. However, from the compressive strength evaluation depending on height of the cylindrical specimen, it was confirmed that the different of strength difference between top and bottom part of the specimen. Thus, following research regarding vertical segregation should be studied.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>While marine invertebrate cytochrome P450 (CYP) genes and their roles in detoxification mechanisms have been studied, little information is available regarding freshwater rotifer CYPs and their functions. Here, we used genomic sequences and RNA-seq databases to identify 31 <I>CYP</I> genes in the freshwater rotifer <I>Brachionus calyciflorus</I>. The 31 <I>Bc-CYP</I> genes with a few tandem duplications were clustered into CYP 2, 3, 4, mitochondrial, and 46 clans with two marine rotifers <I>Brachionus plicatilis</I> and <I>Brachionus koreanus</I>. To understand the molecular responses of these 31 <I>Bc-CYP</I> genes, we also examined their expression patterns in response to benzo[α]pyrene (B[α]P). Three <I>Bc-CYP</I> genes (<I>Bc-CYP3044B3</I>, <I>Bc-CYP3049B4</I>, <I>Bc-CYP3049B6</I>) were significantly upregulated (<I>P</I> <0.05) in response to B[α]P, suggesting that these <I>CYP</I> genes can be involved in detoxification in response to B[α]P exposure. These genes might be useful as biomarkers of B[α]P exposure in <I>B. calyciflorus</I>. Overall, our findings expand the repertoire of known CYPs and shed light on their potential roles in xenobiotic detoxification in rotifers.</P>

As alternatives to antibiotics in livestocks, probiotics have been used, although most of them in the form of liquid or semisolid formulations, which show low cell viability after oral administration. Therefore, suitable dry dosage forms should be developed for livestocks to protect probiotics against the low pH in the stomach such that the products have higher probiotics survivability. Here, in order to develop a dry dosage forms of probiotics for poultry, we used hydroxypropyl methylcellulose phthalate 55 (HPMCP 55) as a tablet-forming matrix to develop probiotics in a tablet form for poultry. Here, we made three different kinds of probiotics-loaded tablet under different compression forces and investigated their characteristics based on their survivability, morphology, disintegration time, and kinetics in simulated gastrointestinal fluid. The results indicated that the probiotics formulated in the tablets displayed higher survival rates in acidic gastric conditions than probiotics in solution. Rapid release of the probiotics from the tablets occurred in simulated intestinal fluid because of fast swelling of the tablets in neutral pH. As a matrix of tablet, HPMCP 55 provided good viability of probiotics after 6 months under refrigeration. Moreover, after oral administration of probiotics-loaded tablets to chicken, more viable probiotics were observed, than with solution type, through several digestive areas of chicken by the tablets.

This study proposes a new approach to control Moving Stuff Action Through Iterative Learning robot with dual arm for smart factory. When robot moves object with dual arm, not only position of each hand but also contact force at surface of an object should be considered. However, it is not easy to determine every parameters for planning trajectory of the an object and grasping object concerning about variety compliant environment. On the other hand, human knows how to move an object gracefully by using eyes and feel of hands which means that robot could learn position and force from human demonstration so that robot can use learned task at variety case. This paper suggest a way how to learn dynamic equation which concern about both of position and path.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>The mitogen-activated protein kinases (MAPKs) family is known to mediate various biological processes in response to diverse environmental pollutants. Although MAPKs are well characterized and studied in vertebrates, in invertebrates the cross-reactivities of MAPKs antibodies were not clearly known in response to environmental pollutants due to limited information of antibody epitopes with material resources for invertebrates. In this paper, we performed phylogenetic analysis of MAPKs genes in the marine rotifer <I>Brachionus koreanus</I> and the copepods <I>Paracyclopina nana</I> and <I>Tigriopus japonicus</I>. Also in rotifer and copepods, several studies of Western blot of MAPK signaling pathways were shown in response to environmental pollutants, including multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs), water-accommodated fractions (WAFs) of crude oil, and microplastics. This paper will provide a better understanding of the underlying mechanistic scenario in terms of cross-reactivities of mammalian antibodies in rotifer and copepod.</P> <P><B>Highlight</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> Phylogenetic analysis of MAPKs genes was performed in rotifer and copepods. </LI> <LI> Western blot of MAPKs were reproducible upon MWCNTs, WAFs, and microplastics exposure. </LI> </UL> </P>
Whirling machine
A Vol.29 No.10
In order to meet the increasing competitive pressures coupled with higher demands for component quality, whirling machines have been at the cutting edge of the automobile industry for more than 25 years. The hard whirling process can save on machining time and operation elimination. Hard whirling is done dry, without coolant. The chips carry away nearly all of the heat during cutting, leaving the workpiece cool and minimizing any thermal geometry variations. The surface finish and profile accuracy are close to grinding quality. Whirling machines usually consist of four major parts; 1) loading system that requires the necessary axial speeds, 2) head stock that needs high precision clamping and positioning system at the chuck and tailstock, 3) whirling unit that demands the high cutting speeds and cutting power fer cutting deep thread profiles and 4) unloading system that requires an easy workpiece unloading. Also, capabilities of the whirling machine can be improved by attaching a vision system to the machine. Most of whirling machines in Korean automobile industry are imported from the Leistritz company, Germany and the Hasegawa company, Japan. Tn this paper, a basic research will be performed to improve and enhance the existing whirling machines. Finally, a new Korean whirling machine will be proposed and developed.
