        Development of Brief Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder Rating Scale for Sexual Violence Victims

        The purpose of this study was to develop a brief rating scale of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) symptoms among sexual violence victims. We analyzed the data from 195 victims and 220 non-victims to select meaningful items from the original PTSD rating scales. We also examined the validity of the brief scale by assessing internal consistency and ROC curves. The optimal cutoff scores for each brief scales were obtained. The results showed that a different approach may be required for early intervention in different age groups.

      • 동시대 실감형 미디어아트 전시의 디자인과 공간 구성

        21세기 하이테크놀로지 시대로 접어들면서 예술의 범위가 과학, 예술, 음악, 사회 문화등 전반적인 요소를 기반으로 융합, 재해석되어 미디어아트가 구성되고 시도되고 있다. 이에 2021년 국내와 해외의 실감형 미디어아트 전시의 구성 요소를 분석함으로써 후속 미디어아트의 표현에 있어서 컨텐츠 확장을 기대해 본다. 본 연구는 서울 인사 미술관의 ‘2021, Delight Seoul’, 여수 아이 뮤지엄의 ‘더 포레스트’, 부산 다 뮤지엄의 ‘Super Nature’, DDP 디자인 전시관의 ‘LIFE’, 제주 아르떼 뮤지엄의 ‘시공을 초월한 자연’에 나타난 실감형 미디어 아트의 사례를 통한 디자인과 공간 구성 요소에 관한 분석과 도식화하였다. 해외 실감형 미디어아트로는 도쿄 롯본기의 ‘Rinkan Sauna’, 프랑스 아틀리에 데 르뮈에르의 ‘Dali and Gaudi’, 싱가포르 아트 사이언스 뮤지엄의 ‘Virtual Realms’, 중국 OCT-LOFT의 ‘Expect the Unexpected’, 독일 ZKM 미디어아트센터의 ‘BarabasiLab. 숨겨진 패턴’에 나타난 공간구성에 관하여 도식화하였다. 그리고 국내사례와 해외사례를 비교 분석하였다. 동시대 실감형 미디어아트는 사유의 영역과 함께 현대인의 정신적인 휴식 공간으로써 문화예술분야에 중요한 역할이 기대된다. 본 연구를 통하여 앞으로 실감형 미디어아트를 구현하는데 있어서 본 연구의 사례와 구성 요소를 통하여 다양한 각도에서의 시도, 발전, 활용하는데 기여하고자 한다. As the era of high technology began in the 21st century, media art is organized and attempted in various ways based on overall factors such as science, art, music, and social culture. Therefore, I expect to expand contents in the expression of subsequent media art by analyzing components of realistic media art exhibitions of domestic and foreign media art exhibitions in 2021. This study analyzed and schematized the design and spatial components through examples of realistic media art in 2021, ‘The Forest’ of I Museum at Yeosu , ‘2021 Seoul Delight’ of Central Museum in Seoul, ‘Super Nature’ of Da Museum in Busan ‘LIFE’ at the DDP Design Exhibition Hall and ‘Eternal Nature’ at the Arte Museum in Jeju. In the case of overseas, I investigated ‘Rinkan Sauna’ of Roppongi in Tokyo and ‘Dali and Gaudi’ of Atelier des Lumieres in France, ‘Virtual Realms’ of the Art Science Museum in Singapore and ‘BarabasiLab, ‘Expect the Unexpected’ of OCT-LOFT in China, Hidden patterns’ of ZKM Media Art Center in Germany. In addition, domestic and overseas cases were compared and analyzed. The contemporary realistic media art is expected an important role in the field of culture and art as a place for modern people to rest mentally with the role of meditation. Through the examples and components of this study, I intend to contribute to the supplementation, development and utilization of new genres of media art. In subsequent research, I look forward to contribute to the attempts, development, and utilization at various angles through the examples and components of this study in implementing realistic media art in the future.

        Experiment Investigation on Fluid Transportation Performance of Propellant Acquisition Vanes in Microgravity Environment

        The propellant acquisition vane (PAV) is a key part of a vane type surface tension propellant management device (PMD), which can manage the propellant effectively. In the present paper, the fluid transportation behaviors for five PAVs with different sections were investigated by using microgravity drop tower test. Further, numerical simulation for the propellant flow in a PMD under microgravity condition was also carried out based on VOF model, and showed the similar flow pattern for PAVs to the experiment. It is noted that the section geometry of PAVs is one of the main factors affecting the fluid transportation behavior of PMD. PAVs with bottom length ratio of 5/6 and 1/2 have larger propellant transportation velocity. Based on the experiments, there were two stages during the process of propellant transportation under microgravity environment: liquid relocation and steady transportation stage. It is also recognized that there is a linear correlation between liquid transportation velocity and relative time's square root. Those results can not only provide a guideline for optimization of new vane type PMDs, but also are helpful for fluid control applications in space environment.

      • Shared Single Display Application : An Interactive Patterns Approach

        Interactive patterns are able to promote the notion of interaction in groupware application development. Hence, these patterns improve the students’ engagement and promote problem solving collectively. This paper reports on the usability of the interactive patterns in designing and developing a collaborative language application. With interactive patterns, we are able to design and develop two different interactive shared single display education applications. RimbaIlmu is an after school programme to allow students to learn Bahasa Malaysia during their free time. RICLAT is an authoring tool for collaborative presentations. The patterns are useful to enrich the interaction among both education applications. Also, it facilitates more effective communication among the group members and enriches the interaction for students based on the qualitative analysis.

        Multiple roles of lymphatic vessels in peripheral lymph node development

        <P>The mammalian lymphatic system consists of strategically located lymph nodes (LNs) embedded into a lymphatic vascular network. Mechanisms underlying development of this highly organized system are not fully understood. Using high-resolution imaging, we show that lymphoid tissue inducer (LTi) cells initially transmigrate from veins at LN development sites using gaps in venous mural coverage. This process is independent of lymphatic vasculature, but lymphatic vessels are indispensable for the transport of LTi cells that egress from blood capillaries elsewhere and serve as an essential LN expansion reservoir. At later stages, lymphatic collecting vessels ensure efficient LTi cell transport and formation of the LN capsule and subcapsular sinus. Perinodal lymphatics also promote local interstitial flow, which cooperates with lymphotoxin-β signaling to amplify stromal CXCL13 production and thereby promote LTi cell retention. Our data unify previous models of LN development by showing that lymphatics intervene at multiple points to assist LN expansion and identify a new role for mechanical forces in LN development.</P>
