In the recent years, under the condition that the Chinese Army’s opening-up fields are getting enlarged and that its forms are getting diversified and intensity getting improved, Chinese soldiers are performing more actively in the international stages. Developing the international military cooperation holds great significance for the improvement of strategic mutual understanding, and the maintenance of worldwide and regional peace and stability. In August 2018, the sea-landing competition of “International Military Contest-2018” was held in Fujian, China. As the representative of Chinese Navy, I joined in the whole translation work of the competition, accumulating precious experience of military translation. By summarizing the translation experience of the contest, the paper aims at combing through possible problems when carrying out this kind of military contest task henceforward, and at studying relevant solutions and translation strategies.

Experiments were carried out to investigate the ballistic performance of fiber reinforced plastic(FRP)-steel plates completely penetrated by hemispherical-nosed projectiles at sub-ordnance velocities greater than their ballistic limits. The FRP-steel plate consists of a front FRP laminate and a steel backing plate. Failure mechanisms and impact energy absorptions of FRP-steel plates were analyzed and compared with FRP laminates and single steel plates. The effects of relative thickness, manufacturing method and fabric type of front composite armors as well as the joining style between front composite armors and steel backing plates on the total perforation resistance of FRP-steel plates were explored. It is found that in the case of FRP-steel plates completely penetrated by hemispherical-nosed projectiles at low velocities, the failure modes of front composite armors are slightly changed while for steel backing plates, the dominate failure modes are greatly changed due to the influence of front composite armors. The relative thickness and fabric type of front composite armors as well as the joining style of FRP-steel plates have large effects whereas the manufacturing method of front composite armors has slight effect on the total perforation resistance of FRP-steel plates.

Concrete filled steel tubular (CFST) composite girder is a new type of structures for bridge constructions. The existing design codes cannot be used to predict the thermal stress in the CFST truss girder structures under solar radiation. This study is to develop the temperature gradient curves for predicting thermal stress of the structure based on field and laboratory monitoring data. An in-field testing had been carried out on Ganhaizi Bridge for over two months. Thermal couples were installed at the cross section of the CFST truss girder and the continuous data was collected every 30 minutes. A typical temperature gradient mode was then extracted by comparing temperature distributions at different times. To further verify the temperature gradient mode and investigate the evolution of temperature fields, an outdoor experiment was conducted on a 1:8 scale bridge model, which was installed with both thermal couples and strain gauges. The main factors including solar radiation and ambient temperature on the different positions were studied. Laboratory results were consistent with that from the in-field data and temperature gradient curves were obtained from the in-field and laboratory data. The relationship between the strain difference at top and bottom surfaces of the concrete deck and its corresponding temperature change was also obtained and a method based on curve fitting was proposed to predict the thermal strain under elevated temperature. The thermal stress model for CFST composite girder was derived. By the proposed model, the thermal stress was obtained from the temperature gradient curves. The results using the proposed model were agreed well with that by finite element modelling.

Benzotriazole is an important synthetic auxiliary for potential clinical applications. A series of benzotriazoles as potential antiproliferative agents by inhibiting histone deacetylase (HDAC) were recently reported. Three-dimensional quantitative structure-activity relationship (3D-QSAR), including comparative molecular field analysis (CoMFA) and comparative molecular similarity indices analysis (CoMSIA), were performed to elucidate the 3D structural features required for the antiproliferative activity. The results of both ligand-based CoMFA model ($q^2=0.647$, $r^2=0.968$, ${r^2}_{pred}=0.687$) and CoMSIA model ($q^2=0.685$, $r^2=0.928$, ${r^2}_{pred}=0.555$) demonstrated the highly statistical significance and good predictive ability. The results generated from CoMFA and CoMSIA provided important information about the structural characteristics influence inhibitory potency. In addition, docking analysis was applied to clarify the binding modes between the ligands and the receptor HDAC. The information obtained from this study could provide some instructions for the further development of potent antiproliferative agents and HDAC inhibitors.

Glycyrrhetic acid monoglucuronide (GAM) isobtained from the natural sweetener glycyrrhizin throughenzymolysis. Its sweetness concentration–response (C–R)behavior in room-temperature in water was determinedusing two-alternative forced choice discrimination tests. The C–R equation of resultant hyperbolic curve relatingsucrose equivalent (SE, %) to GAM concentration([GAM], mg/L) was SE = 19.6 9 [GAM]/(194.8 ? [GAM]). From the C–R function, Pw (2) ofGAM, relative to a 2% (w/v) sucrose reference, is morethan 900, which has much higher potency than its precursorglycyrrhizin. Molecular modeling showed that GAM isfinely bound into protein 1EWK through conventionalhydrogen bonds, p-Alkyl interactions and Van der Waalsbonds, which exhibited better protein inclusion than Glycyrrhizin. Thus, GAM could be developed
