The Concept of Pattern based Data Sharing in Big Data Environments
Muhammad Habib ur Rehman,Aisha Batool 보안공학연구지원센터 2015 International Journal of Database Theory and Appli Vol.8 No.4
The staggering growth in Internet of Things (IoT) technologies is the key driver for generation of massive raw data streams in big data environments. This huge collection of raw data streams in big data systems increases computational complexity and resource consumption in cloud-enabled data mining systems. In this paper, we are introducing the concept of pattern-based data sharing in big data environments. The proposed methodology enables local data processing near the data sources and transforms the raw data streams into actionable knowledge patterns. These knowledge patterns have dual utility of availability of local knowledge patterns for immediate actions as well as for participatory data sharing in big data environments. The proposed concept has the wide potential to be applied in numerous application areas.

We empirically examine the role of the banking market structure and financial development for the growth of manufacturing and the financially dependent industries in China over the period of 1999–2014. We use both structural and non-structural approaches to assess the banking market structure and relate them to the growth of the manufacturing industries. The results of the study indicate that bank competition inspires industrial growth, particularly the growth of the financially dependent industries. Our findings further suggest that bank concentration undermines the growth of manufacturing industries in general and growth of the financially dependent industries in particular. These results are consistent across a number of sensitivity checks covering alternative measures of financial dependence, institutional factors such as property rights, quality of accounting standards and bank ownership and endogeneity consideration.

Carbonic anhydrase influences asymmetric sodium and acetate transport across omasum of sheep
Rabbani, Imtiaz,Rehman, Habib,Martens, Holger,Majeed, Khalid Abdul,Yousaf, Muhammad Shahbaz,Rehman, Zia Ur Asian Australasian Association of Animal Productio 2021 Animal Bioscience Vol.34 No.5
Objective: Omasum is an important site for the absorption of short chain fatty acids. The major route for the transport of acetate is via sodium hydrogen exchanger (NHE). However, a discrepancy in the symmetry of sodium and acetate transport has been previously reported, the mechanism of which is unclear. In this study, we investigated the possible role of carbonic anhydrase (CA) for this asymmetry. Methods: Omasal tissues were isolated from healthy sheep (N = 3) and divided into four groups; pH 7.4 and 6.4 alone and in combination with Ethoxzolamide. Electrophysiological measurements were made using Ussing chamber and the electrical measurements were made using computer controlled voltage clamp apparatus. Effect(s) of CA inhibitor on acetate and sodium transport flux rate of Na22 and 14C-acetate was measured in three different flux time periods. Data were presented as mean±standard deviation and level of significance was ascertained at p≤0.05. Results: Mucosal to serosal flux of Na (JmsNa) was greater than mucosal to serosal flux of acetate (JmsAc) when the pH was decreased from 7.4 to 6.4. However, the addition of CA inhibitor almost completely abolished this discrepancy (JmsNa ≈ JmsAc). Conclusion: The results of the present study suggest that the additional protons required to drive the NHE were provided by the CA enzyme in the isolated omasal epithelium. The findings of this study also suggest that the functions of CA may be exploited for better absorption in omasum.

The true motivation of this article is to provide sucient conditions with theaid of Geraghty type condensing operators that guarantee the existence of a solution of non-linear quadratic Volterra-Stieltjes integral equation. We also address several new fixed pointtheorems that ensure the existence of a xed point for Geraghty type condensing operatorsin real Banach spaces. An example and numerical approximations are presented to justifythe basis of our results.

Almost in all hydrological models, calibrating parameters are tuned to best match the simulated results with the observed. In the present study sensitivity analysis was carried on the fifteen calibrating parameters of University of British Columbia Watershed Model (UBCWM). The study focuses to impart information to the modelers while calibrating UBCWM. To achieve the objectives of the study, UBC Watershed Model was applied on Chitral watershed in Pakistan. UBC Watershed Model is a semi distributed Hydrological model which divides the entire watershed in several elevation bands. The model was calibrated for the year 2006 with the coefficient of efficiency as well as the coefficient of determination equal to 0.94. The numerical values of the calibrating parameters were changed by increasing 20% and then by decreasing 20% of the standard calibrated values one by one. Sensitivity of the model was evaluated by computing the Absolute Sensitivity Index for each parameter. The sensitivity analysis results showed that the P0SREPO as the most sensitive parameter with 3.31525 Absolute Sensitivity Index (ASI) whereas C0IMPA found to be least sensitive giving a value of 0.0452 as Absolute Sensitivity Index (ASI). The logical trends in the results of sensitivity analysis show the robustness of the model.
Impact and Comparison of Programming Constructs on JAVA and C# Source Code Readability
Aisha Batool,Muhammad Habib ur Rehman,Aihab Khan,Amsa Azeem 보안공학연구지원센터 2015 International Journal of Software Engineering and Vol.9 No.11
Software readability is a property that manipulates how easily a given piece of code can be read and understood. Since readability can affect maintainability, quality, reusability, understandability etc. Programmers are very concerned about the readability of code. For the good decision of selecting languages, it is necessary to know about the readability of languages. Many software constructs may affect readability of code. In this paper we have selected some constructs that affect readability property and we calculated their readability in C# and java PL. At the end we have also compared results for both languages to make decision easy for programmers to choose best one from both. Short snippets are taken from c# and java and for their readability; five readability indexes are used to get results.
Flow Trends in River Chitral due to Different Scenarios of Glaciated Extent
Usman Ali Naeem,Hashim Nisar Hashmi,Habib-ur-Rehman,Abdul Sattar Shakir 대한토목학회 2013 KSCE JOURNAL OF CIVIL ENGINEERING Vol.17 No.1
Glaciers are considerably important machinery which is necessary to keep the equilibrium of the earth. The rapid boost in the mean temperatures of the globe and abnormal precipitations are the direct warnings for glaciers to survive. Mostly the perennial rivers of the world emerge from glaciers. In an agricultural country like Pakistan the existence of the glaciers is of prime importance. The major river of the country originates from the Himalayan and Karakorum glaciated mountains. River Indus is a vital example. Moreover the mega and world renowned Tarbela dam also exists on the same river. This can be surly concluded that the future of a country is directly associated with the flows available in the rivers and hence the existence of glaciers. The rapid disintegration of the glaciers has been reported throughout the world which is obviously not a healthy sign. Therefore, a careful study is required to estimate the variations of the flows with the receding glaciers. As a case study, Chitral watershed in Pakistan has been selected. The UBC watershed model has been used to forecast the flows. The model was calibrated for the daily flows observed in 2009 at Chitral stream gauging station. The percentage contributions to the total annual flow were simulated as 23%, 31%, 1% and 45% due to glacier melt, snow melt, rain-fall runoff and groundwater, respectively for year 2009. Model results were validated for the flows of year 2006 and 2007. The further analysis was performed by assuming reduction in glaciated areas and considering the climatological conditions same as observed in year 2009. The model results show that a significant decrease in the flows of Chitral River appears due to the assumed reduction of glaciated extent.

Facebook has quickly infused across cultures worldwide to become a common household term for diverse spectra of netizens, especially youngsters. Inherently, interactive in nature, Facebook provides a common cyber enabled platform for online interactions with social friends, living across the world. However, despite its merits, users also experience certain disadvantages, which include but are not limited to rise in feelings of social comparison, decline in self-esteem, contentment and general subjective well-being. This work aims to determine the role of Facebook in spreading envy and identify factors that trigger such emotions. Due to abductive nature of the study, we used pilot interviews and consulted relevant literature to formulate hypotheses. Further, we used deductive approach and conducted a survey. The results showed that frequent use of Facebook, particularly passive following is main predictor of envy, and social interaction is the biggest cause for development of envious feelings in Facebook users. However, insignificant variation was found while investigating relationship between envy and factors, such as pretentiousness, time spent, accomplishment, everything in life, likes on posts, popularity across genders, marital status and genre.
