Pre-service Teachers’ Microteaching Experiences based on Self-evaluation and Peer Feedback

The main purpose of this study was to examine the effect of self-reflection and peer feedback given to pre-service teachers’ teaching performance during microteaching. In this study, mixed method was adopted for data analysis. The participants of the study were 17 pre-service teachers who took a course called “Teaching Materials Development and Methods” in 2021 spring semester. The data were collected through a questionnaire containing 33 closed questions, self-reflection, and peer feedback on other peers’ microteaching written by the pre-service teachers. To analyze the closed questions of the questionnaire, descriptive statistics was employed; and content analysis was chosen for analyzing pre-service teachers’ self-reflection and peer feedback. The analysis results presented several interesting points. First, the pre-service teachers were satisfied with their microteaching experiences despite some difficulties including preparing a variety of classroom activities. However, in terms of communication skills, the result was contradictory as the pre-service teachers showed confidence in communicating with students while evaluating their English proficiency level low. Second, the pre-service teachers considered one of the most important qualities of being a good teacher was to be knowledgeable in academic subjects equipped with fluent linguistic ability to carry out class effectively. Finally, examining the pre-service teachers’ self-reflection and peer feedback on their microteaching demonstration turned out to be very useful as merits and demerits identified shared similarities and differences which can contribute positively to their future teaching practices.

대학생의 주도적 경력행동을 통한 학습 경험과 직업정체성 형성에 관한 연구: 비교과 프로그램을 중심으로

이 연구는 대학생의 주도적 경력행동이 잘 드러날 것으로 기대되는 비교과 프로그램에서의 학습 경험을 중심으로 이러한 학습 경험이 예비 직업인으로서의 정체성 형성에 갖는 의미를 탐색하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 서울 소재 4년제 대학에서 비교과 프로그램에 참여한 재학생을 대상으로 면대면 인터뷰를 진행하였다. 연구 결과 비교과 프로그램은 직업 세계로의 이행을 준비 중인 대학생이 주도적 경력행동을 통하여 실제적 학습, 상호작용과 네트워크, 학습자 성찰 등 다양한 학습 경험을 쌓는 중요한 장임을 확인할 수 있었다. 비교과 프로그램에서의 학습 경험을 바탕으로 연구 참여자는 예비 직업인으로서의 정체성을 형성하고 있었다. 직업인으로서의 자아상을 그려보며 자신의 진로 분야에서 의미하는 전문성의 의미를 찾아가거나, 직업인에게 가장 중요한 역량으로 협업과 의사소통을 꼽으며, 자신이 생각하는 바람직한 직업인이 되기 위한 변화를 자발적으로 시도하였다. 비교과 프로그램을 통한 실무자와의 만남은 연구 참여자들이 미지의 영역에 있는 직무에 대한 자신감을 얻고, 새로운 경력 경로를 확보하는 네트워크로 작용하였다. 연구 결과를 바탕으로 성숙한 직업탐색과 진로 의사결정을 촉진할 수 있는 대학교육 방안에 대한 몇 가지 시사점을 제시하였다. The purpose of this study is to explore the learning experiences in extracurricular programs that are expected to reveal undergraduate students' proactive career behaviors and their identity as a future worker. To this end, the in-depth interviews were conducted with undergraduate students who have participated in various extracurricular programs. The results confirmed that an extracurricular program is a significant learning area that clearly shows proactive career behaviors. The participants were conducting career planning and exploration, skill development, and networking in various extracurricular programs. They were also forming occupational identity through the learning experiences that reflected proactive career behaviors. They realized the intrinsic meaning of the professionalism required in their career field. Weak ties of networking with employees in extracurricular programs offered confidence and new career paths to the participants. Through the experiences in extracurricular programs, the participants realized collaboration and communication are important competencies which is essential for professional workers. They tried to change themselves to be good future workers. Based on the results, the study suggests some implications for extracurricular programs and university education.

Providing corrective feedback on L2 learners’ writing is considered essential by both learners and instructors. The present study aimed at investigating the effects of the automated written feedback tool, Grammarly, on reducing writing errors of L2 learners in their writing tasks. In this study, seventeen first-year university students majoring in English education completed two types of writing tasks in class and revised their drafts by using Grammarly. A total of 68 writing samples were analyzed by language-related features including the number of words, sentence length, or error types. Overall findings indicated that some significant decrease in the errors was observed between the 1st and 2nd drafts in the two tasks. However, it was also shown that the length of the compositions from the two tasks was positively proportional to the number of errors they made. The most frequent errors identified by Grammarly included ‘determiner use’, ‘incorrect verb forms’, ‘word choice’, ‘punctuation in sentences’, ‘misspelled words’, and ‘wordy sentence.’ The study also presented the positive relationship between their L2 language proficiency and L2 writing ability. The pedagogical implications and future research direction were discussed.

효과음 자막 생성을 위한 딥러닝 기반의 다중 사운드 분류

본 논문은 영화에 나오는 효과음을 자막으로 생성해주는 자동자막생성을 제안하며, 그의 첫 단계로써 다중 사운드 분류 모델을 제안하였다. 고양이, 강아지, 사람의 음성을 분류하기 위해 사운드 데이터의 특징벡터를 추출한 뒤, 4가지의 기계학습에 적용한 결과 최적모델로 딥러닝이 선정되었다. 전처리 과정 중 주성분 분석의 유무에 따라 정확도는 81.3%와 33.3%로 확연한 차이가 있었으며, 이는 복잡한 특징을 가지는 사운드를 분류하는데 있어 주성분 분석과 넓고 깊은 형태의 신경망이 보다 개선된 분류성과를 가져온 것으로 생각된다.
