Reduction of Current Ripples due to Current Measurement Errors in a Doubly Fed Induction Generator
Park, Gwi-Geun,Hwang, Seon-Hwan,Kim, Jang-Mok,Lee, Kyo-Beum,Lee, Dong-Choon The Korean Institute of Power Electronics 2010 JOURNAL OF POWER ELECTRONICS Vol.10 No.3
This paper proposes a new compensation algorithm for the current measurement errors in a DFIG (Doubly Fed Induction Generator). Generally, current measurement path with current sensors and analog devices has non-ideal factors like offset and scaling errors. As a result, the dq-axis currents of the synchronous reference frame have one and two times ripple components of the slip frequency. In this paper, the main concept of the proposed algorithm is implemented by integrating the 3-phase rotor currents into the stationary reference frame to compensate for the measured current ripples in a DFIG. The proposed algorithm has several beneficial features: easy implementation, less computation time, and robustness with regard to variations in the electrical parameters. The effectiveness of the proposed algorithm is verified by several experiments.

Park, Gwi-Geun,Kwon, Kee-Yong,Kim, Tae-Woong The Korean Institute of Power Electronics 2010 JOURNAL OF POWER ELECTRONICS Vol.10 No.3
In this paper, a single-phase PFC (Power Factor Correction) dual boost converter based on input voltage estimation is studied for DC inverter air conditioner. It is focused on improving input power factor and power quality to satisfy the recent harmonic current regulation standards. Furthermore the input voltage estimation is introduced for price competitive products. A low cost and reasonable control system is implemented using a specified high-speed 32-bit microprocessor. Their effectiveness are verified through theoretical analysis and experiments.

Active Mechanical Vibration Control of Rotary Compressors for Air-conditioning Systems
Park, Cheon-Su,Kim, SeHwan,Park, Gwi-Geun,Seok, Jul-Ki The Korean Institute of Power Electronics 2012 JOURNAL OF POWER ELECTRONICS Vol.12 No.6
Recent power electronics and variable-frequency motor drive technologies have been applied to air conditioners to improve efficiency and power density. However, the mechanical vibrations and acoustic noise resulting from the compressor still remain as a serious problem. This paper presents the development and implementation of an online disturbance state-filter for the suppression of multiple unknown and time-varying vibrations of air conditioning systems. The proposed design has a form of the state-filter based on a Luenburger-style closed-loop speed observer. An active vibration decoupling strategy with an estimated disturbance is provided, which manipulates a motor torque command. Since the proposed estimation does not require any additional transducers or hardware for obtaining real-time information upon disturbances, it is suitable for retrofitting industrial air conditioners.

본 논문은 학문적인 이해를 기반을 둔 예측을 수행하기 위해 FDNN(: Flood drought index neural network) 알고리즘을 제시한다. In this paper, we present FDNN algorithm to perform prediction based on academic understanding. In order to apply prediction based on academic understanding rather than data-dependent prediction to deep learning, we constructed algorithm based on mathematical and hydrology. We construct a model that predicts flow rate of a river as an input of precipitation, and measure the model s performance through K-fold cross validation.

Cu(In,Ga)Se2 (CIGS) is a compound semiconductor and is one of the most attractive light-absorbing materials for use in thin film solar cells. Among the various approaches to prepare CIGS thin films, the powder process offers an extremely simple and materials-efficient method. Here, we report the mechano-chemical preparation of CIGS compound powders suitable for fabrication of CIGS films by a powder process. We found that the CIGS phase was formed from the elemental powders of Cu, In, and Se and liquid Ga using high energy milling process with a milling time as short as 40 min at 200 rpm due to a self-accelerating exothermic reaction. The morphology and size of the CIGS powders changed with a function of the milling speed (100-300 rpm), leading to an optimal condition of milling at 200 rpm for 120 min. We also found that it was difficult to obtain a monolithic phase of the CIGS powders without severe particle aggregation by mechano-chemical milling alone. Therefore, in combination with the milling, subsequent heat-treatment at 300 degrees C was performed, which successfully provided monolithic CIGS nanopowders suitable for powder process. When a thin film was fabricated from the monolithic CIGS nanopowders, a highly dense film with large crystalline grains was obtained. The CIGS film preserved its chemical composition of CuIn0.7Ga0.3Se2 after sintering as evidenced by Raman spectroscopy, EDS and SAED pattern of transmission electron microscopy. The film was also found suitable for a light absorbing layer of CIGS solar cells with its band gap energy of 1.14 eV evaluated by transmittance spectroscopy.
