Characteristics of nanocomposite films deposited by atmospheric pressure uniform RF glow plasma
Aysegul Uygun,Lutfi Oksuz,Ayse Gul Yavuz,Ali Guleç,Songul Sen 한국물리학회 2011 Current Applied Physics Vol.11 No.2
Characteristics of nanocomposite films synthesized and deposited by atmospheric pressure Radio-Frequency (RF) (13.56 MHz) uniform glow discharge are examined. The nanocomposite thin film deposition is carried out in the presence of titanium dioxide (TiO_2) with polymerization of pyrrole, thiophene and furan monomers in acetonitrile medium containing lithium perchlorate (LiClO_4). The chemical, morphological, thermal and electrical characteristics of polypyrrole/TiO_2 (PPy/TiO_2), polythiophene/TiO_2 (PT/TiO_2) and polyfuran/TiO_2 (PF/TiO_2) composites are examined by FTIR spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy-energy dispersive X-ray analysis (SEM-EDX), atomic force microscopy (AFM), thermogravimetry (TGA) and four-probe conductivity measurements. The presence of PT bands in the FTIR spectra of PT/TiO_2 indicates that plasma polymerization did not cause thiophene ring opening as was reported in the literature. The thermograms indicate that the PPy/TiO_2 composite has the best thermal stability, whereas PT/TiO_2 has the best electrical conductivity. Morphology studies reveal that the composite film deposition occurs uniformly through polymerization of the monomer onto TiO_2nanoparticles.
The Effect of Xylene and Formaldehyde Inhalation on Testicular Tissue in Rats
Gules, O.,Eren, U. Asian Australasian Association of Animal Productio 2010 Animal Bioscience Vol.23 No.11
In this study, changes in testicular tissues of rats subjected to xylene and formaldehyde inhalation were evaluated. Three experimental groups were included in the study. Each group of rats was exposed to formaldehyde (6 ppm), technical xylene (300 ppm) or a combination of these two agents (150 ppm+3 ppm) for 8 weeks (8 h/d). Control groups were maintained for a period of eight weeks under the same conditions. Staining methods (triple staining, strep ABC method) were applied to examine histometric changes and relaxin like factor (RLF) expression in the testicular tissue. Immunostaining for RLF showed that density of staining for RLF decreased in rats exposed to formaldehyde. Formaldehyde or a combination of formaldehyde and xylene led to a decrease in seminiferous epithelial height. In conclusion, exposure of rats to formaldehyde and xylene-formaldehyde combinations adversely affects Leydig cells (RLF) and seminiferous epithelium of testicular tissue.
Luminance Characteristics of a Novel Red-Light-Emitting Device Based on Znq2 and Dye
Min-JeongCho,Wan-JiChoi,Jeong-GuLee,Min-SuLim,Kee-JoeLim,Hyun-HooKim 한국전기전자재료학회 2002 Transactions on Electrical and Electronic Material Vol.3 No.2
In this study, a novel red emitting organic electroluminescent (EL) device was fabricated with the bis(8-oxyquinolino)zinc II (Znq2) doped dye as an emitting layer. The Znq2 was synthesized successfully from zinc chloride (ZnCl2) as an initial material. Then, we fabricated the red organic EL device with a dye (DCJTB) doped and inserted Znq2 between emission layer and cathode for increasing EL efficiency. The hole transporting layer is a N,N’-diphenyl-N,N’-bis-(3-methylphenyl)-1,1’-diphenyl-4,4-diamine (TPD), and the host material of emission layer is Znq2. And the electrical and luminance characteristics of the device were measured. We found that the EL device with Znq2 inserting layer results in the increasing luminance efficiency.
