Effect of MAO-modified nanoporous silica supports with single-site titanocene catalyst on ethylene polymerization

        Farideh Azimfar,Alireza Badiei,Seyed Mehdi Ghafelebashi,Majid Daftari-Besheli,Abbas Rezaee Shirin-Abadi 한국화학공학회 2018 Korean Journal of Chemical Engineering Vol.35 No.4

Three types of nanoporous silica support were modified by methylaluminoxane MAO and characterized by using BET, SEM, XRD and TGA. Dimethylsilyl (N-tert-butylamido)(tetramethylcyclopentadienyl) titanium dichlride was synthesized and immobilized on modified support. The prepared complex was then used as a reactive catalyst for ethylene polymerization. The effect of immobilization conditions on catalyst performance was studied. The results revealed elevated temperature grafting, decrease in precatalyst loading. Also, increasing of immobilization reaction time showed an increase in activity to 130 Kg poly/mol Ti.h.bar. The effects of polymerization temperature and [Al]/[Ti] ratio on the catalyst behavior, namely activity and bulk density, were investigated. According to the results, the activity of single-site catalyst depends on condition of immobilization and structure of nanoporous silica support.

REGULAR INJECTIVITY AND EXPONENTIABILITY IN THE SLICE CATEGORIES OF ACTIONS OF POMONOIDS ON POSETS

        Farideh Farsad,Ali Madanshekaf 대한수학회 2015 대한수학회지 Vol.52 No.1

For a pomonoid S, let us denote Pos-S the category of S-posets and S-poset maps. In this paper, we consider the slice cate- gory Pos-S/B for an S-poset B, and study some categorical ingredients. We first show that there is no non-trivial injective object in Pos-S/B. Then we investigate injective objects with respect to the class of regu- lar monomorphisms in this category and show that Pos-S/B has enough regular injective objects. We also prove that regular injective objects are retracts of exponentiable objects in this category. One of the main aims of the paper is to draw attention to characterizing injectivity in the cate- gory Pos-S/B under a particular case where B has trivial action. Among other things, we also prove that the necessary condition for a map (an ob- ject) here to be regular injective is being convex and present an example to show that the converse is not true, in general.

Do Psychological Factors Increase the Risk for Low Back Pain Among Nurses? A Comparing According to Cross-sectional and Prospect

Farideh Sadeghian,Samaneh Hosseinzadeh,Roqayeh Aliyari 한국산업안전보건공단 산업안전보건연구원 2014 Safety and health at work Vol.5 No.1

BackgroundThis study assesses influences of baseline psychological risk factors on prevalence of low back pain (LBP) at baseline and follow-up among nurses. MethodsA prospective longitudinal study was performed at two phases, baseline and 1-year follow-up among 246 nurses of university hospitals in Shahroud, Iran. A standardized Cultural and Psychosocial Influences on Disability questionnaire was used for data collection. Logistic regression was performed for analysis. ResultsAt the baseline of the study, 58.9% of nurses reported back pain in the previous 12 months. Age (p = 0.001), belief that work causes pain (p = 0.022), and somatization tendency (p = 0.002) significantly increased risk of LBP. At 1-year follow-up, prevalence of LBP was 45.7% and expectation of back pain at baseline (p = 0.016) significantly increased risk of LBP in this phase (p < 0.05). ConclusionResults indicate that risk factors for prevalence of back pain at baseline and 1-year follow-up are different. At baseline, the risk factors are age, belief that work causes pain, and somatization tendency, and at follow-up, expectation of pain is the major risk factor.

Removal of ciprofloxacin from aqueous solution by a continuous flow electro-coagulation process

Farideh Nabizadeh Chianeh,Jalal Basiri Parsa,Taher Mehdi Panah 한국화학공학회 2016 Korean Journal of Chemical Engineering Vol.33 No.3

This study deals with the performance and modeling of the electro-coagulation process for ciprofloxacin (CIP) removal by using aluminum electrode as anode in a continuous electrochemical reactor. The initial pH, temperature, current density, time and flow rate were selected as independent variables in response surface methodology (RSM) involving a five-level central composite design (CCD), while CIP removal efficiency was considered as the response function. The result of optimization showed that the maximum amount of CIP removal efficiency (88%) presented at the optimal condition of pH=5.6, t=100min, T=25.5 oC, I=5.6mA/cm2 and V=25.9 mL/min. In addition, the mineralization of the CIP was investigated by chemical oxygen demand (COD) and total organic carbon (TOC) measurements that showed 77% COD removal and 49%TOC removal.

Optimal method for early detection of cardiac disorders in thalassemia major patients: magnetic resonance imaging or echocardiography?

        Farideh Moussavi,Mounes Aliyari Ghasabeh,Shahla Roodpeyma,Samin Alavi,Majid Shakiba,Riaz Gheiratmand 대한혈액학회 2014 Blood Research Vol.49 No.3

Background Heart failure resulting from myocardial iron deposition is the most important cause of death in β-thalassemia major (TM) patients. Cardiac T2*magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), echocardiography, and serum ferritin level serve as diagnostic methods for detecting myocardial iron overload. In this study, we aimed to evaluate the relationship between the above-mentioned methods. Methods T2*MRI and echocardiographic measurement of left ventricular (LV) systolic and diastolic function were performed in 63 patients. Serum ferritin level was measured. The relationships between all assessments were evaluated. Results There were 40 women and 23 men with a mean age of 23.7±5.1 years (range, 15–35 years). There was no statistically significant correlation between serum ferritin level and LV systolic and diastolic function (P=0.994 and P=0.475, respectively). T2*MRI results had a significant correlation with ferritin level; 63.6% of patients with serum ferritin level >2,000 ng/mL had abnormal cardiac MRI, while none of the patients with ferritin level <1,000 ng/mL had abnormal cardiac MRI (P=0.001). There was no significant correlation between MRI findings and LV systolic function (P=1.00). However, we detected a significant difference between LV diastolic function and cardiac siderosis (P=0.03) Conclusion MRI findings are a good predictor of future cardiac dysfunction, even in asymptomatic TM patients; however, diastolic dysfunction may happen prior to cardiac siderosis in some patients, and echocardiography is able to diagnose this diastolic dysfunction while T2* MRI shows normal findings.

The Effect of Evening Primrose Oil Capsule on Hot Flashes and Night Sweats in Postmenopausal Women: A Single-Blind Randomized Controlled Trial

        ( Farideh Kazemi ),( Seyedeh Zahra Masoumi ),( Arezoo Shayan ),( Khodayar Oshvandi ) 대한폐경학회 2021 대한폐경학회지 Vol.27 No.1

Objectives: Menopause is associated with complications that could decline women’s health during this period. Therefore, some of its complications, such as hot flashes and night sweats, must be treated or alleviated. Methods: This randomized controlled trial included postmenopausal women who were referred to health centers in Hamadan from May 2018 to April 2019. The hot flash and night sweat questionnaires were completed by the researcher a week before and 8 weeks after the intervention. The intervention group took one capsule (1,000 mg) of evening primrose oil twice daily, while the control group received the same amount of placebo. Finally, the results were analyzed using Stata 13. Results: The mean scores of duration, frequency, and severity of hot flashes did not significantly decrease in both groups after the intervention compared with before the intervention, and no statistically significant difference was observed (P > 0.05). However, the intervention group had lower frequency and severity of night sweats after the intervention than the control group, with statistically significant differences (P < 0.05). Conclusions: Evening primrose oil effectively decreased the frequency and severity of night sweats.

Use of Fish Oil Nanoencapsulated with Gum Arabic Carrier in Low Fat Probiotic Fermented Milk

        Farideh Vahid Moghadam,Rezvan Pourahmad,Ali Mortazavi,Daryoush Davoodi,Reza Azizinezhad 한국축산식품학회 2019 한국축산식품학회지 Vol.39 No.2

Fish oil consists of omega-3 fatty acids which play an important role in human health. Its susceptibility to oxidation causes considerable degradation during the processing and storage of food products. Accordingly, encapsulation of this ingredient through freeze drying was studied with the aim of protecting it against environmental conditions. Gum arabic (GA) was used as the wall material for fish oil nanoencapsulation where tween 80 was applied as the emulsifier. A water-in-oil (W/O) emulsion was prepared by sonication, containing 6% fish oil dispersed in aqueous solutions including 20% and 25% total wall material. The emulsion was sonicated at 24 kHz for 120 s. The emulsion was then freeze-dried and the nanocapsules were incorporated into probiotic fermented milk, with the effects of nanocapsules examined on the milk. The results showed that the nanoparticles encapsulated with 25% gum arabic and 4% emulsifier had the highest encapsulation efficiency (EE) (87.17%) and the lowest surface oil (31.66 mg/100 kg). Using nanoencapsulated fish oil in fermented milk significantly (p<0.05) increased the viability of Lactobacillus plantarum as well as eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) contents. The fermented milk sample containing fish oil nanoencapsulated with 25% wall material and 4% emulsifier yielded the greatest probiotic bacterial count (8.41 Log CFU/mL) and the lowest peroxide value (0.57 mEq/kg). Moreover, this sample had the highest EPA and DHA contents. Utilizing this nanoencapsulated fish oil did not adversely affect fermented milk overall acceptance. Therefore, it can be used for fortification of low fat probiotic fermented milk.

On Generators in the Category of Actions of Pomonoids on Posets and its Slices

Farideh, Farsad,Ali, Madanshekaf Department of Mathematics 2022 Kyungpook mathematical journal Vol.62 No.4

Where S is a pomonoid, let Pos-S be the category of S-posets and S-poset maps. We start off by characterizing the pomonoids S for which all projectives in this category are either generators or free. We then study the notions of regular injectivity and weakly regularly d-injectivity in this category. This leads to homological classification results for pomonoids. Among other things, we get find relationships between regular injectivity in the slice category Pos-S/BS, for any S-poset BS, and generators and cyclic projectives in Pos-S.
