A very uncommon tumor, primary intraosseous carcinoma (PIOC), is a carcinoma arising within the jaw. The definite diagnosis of PIOC is often difficult as the lesion must be distinguished from alveolar carcinoma that may invade the bone from the overlying soft tissues or from the tumors that have metastasized to the jaw from a distant site. A case of PIOC arising in the mandible is presented. The clinical, radiologic, and histologic features are described. This rare lesion should be considered in any differential diagnosis of a jaw radiolucency.

This paper deal with a method of detecting localized defects on taper roller bearing in main spindle of machine tool system. The statistical parameters in time-domain signal processing techniques have been calculated to extract useful features from bearing vibration signals. Emloying these features, the statiscical parameters have been established to detect defects on the rollers of bearings, respectively, and used by the input feature of an artificial neural nerwork. As a result that the proposed bearing defects monitoring system could be successfully performed by using the statistical parameters of acceleration signals.

This paper presents an UPFC model for power flow calculation using PSS/E. Series voltage source of UPFC is equivalently modeled by the phase shifter transformer, which is usable in PSS/E program package. The equivalent relation of this two models was implemented by IPLAN which is an external high level language. The Newton-Raphson method was used for power flow calculation and an accelerating parameter was applicated for convergence improvement of power flow calculation. The exactness and converagence of the proposed method was demonstrated on a large-scale power systems.

This paper presents a parallel processing algorithm to solve efficiently the linear network equations for power flow calculation on a transputer based multi processor system. An efficient node ordering scheme, MD-MNP algorithm, was used to minimize the number of fill-in terms in the process of triangulation of the sparse matrix, enhancing sparse vector method. For the reduction of synchronizing time, a task allocation scheduling was presented to locate tasks to each processor as equal as possible. In theproposed approach LU decomposion and forward/backward substitution are exectued by parallel processing. A power flow calculation program using the proposed algorithm was implemented and run on a transputer based parallel processing system. The computation time using parallel algorithm was measured and compared with that obtained by sequential algorithm.

The main purpose of thid study is to provide certain informations in the standard of selection of teachers, the course of teacher's education, and the standard of promotion in school by clarifying especially the factor of teachers among many factors which are influential in study achievement and, it is also aimed to offer various infomation on converting the labor cost of teachers to induce higer achievent of student studies by comparng the deqree of factors (three above-mentioned factors in particular) influencing the level of study achievement with that of factors influencing the level of teacher's achiieveent. The results of studies are as follows. 1) The sex of teacher is not interrelate with study achievement of students. 2) The kind of teacher's qualification does not affect study achievement of students. 3) Ther college from where teaches graduate does not influence study achievememt. 4) The fact that teachers position does not lay arole in improving student ability means that the promotion of teachers is done only by career basis. 5) The attitude of students toward teachers plays an important role in study achievement. 6) The labor cost of teachers acn be manipulated as an effective way of increasing study achievement of students.

This paper surveys the future technologies for power system analysis which are required to cope with the variation of circumstances in the power system. According to the reorganizaton of the power industry structure, the power system, which is confronted with the reorganization of power generation and distribution market, particepation of small-scale power system utilities and connection of dispersion sources, etc., is going to enter the free market structure from the monopolistic market. Under this circumstances, the more advanced and reliable, new technologies, and the on-line or real-time technologies, etc. are required for power system analysis. These related technologies, divided into five major fields, are suggested.

This paper describes the basic concepts of the P and Q control characteristics of UPFC and compares it to several related power flow controllers, such as the TCSC and TCPAR. This paper shows that UPFC is able to control both the transmitted real power and, independently, the reactive power flows over a broad range at the sending - and the receiving-end of the transmission line. And it can control power flow in either direction at current states.

This paper presents an stabilization method aiming at maintaining transient stability in the local large capacity generation plants. The features of this method are that the power-angle curve is estimated using the on-line data of the active power and the phase angle variation of bus voltage and the optimum amount of generation shedding for stabilization is simply determined by using the equal area method to this curve.

The purpose of this study are to examine the historical transition of the SUMO, the mother of the Japanese chivalry culture and to investigate the cultural character of the Japanese chivalry which has sprung from the SUMO techniques as well, The conculusion from this study as follow: The history of the Japanese SUMO has start from the myth and has been developed with the agricultual belief, the nature worship and peaceful war-settlment as its backing. The historical transition of the SUMO is as follow: JINJI SUMO - In the age of the civil wars, the SUMO was used as a body training method for warrios to prepare the hand-to-hand fighting and the JU JYUTS were derived from the TORI TE, one of the SUMO's techniques. Besides it was a great epoch that a primitive from of the SUMO -playing ground (the DO HYO) was originated from this age. KAN JIN SUMO- As the war situation has been stabilized, the SUMO started to be adapted for performance. From this spot, the private-initiated SUMO and SUMO-playing ground analoguous to the present ground have emerged. Through this transition, the SUMO has passed by changes of techniques and systems and is it all its glory of today. The SUMO is a intangible cultural asset which connotes a cultural, philosophical thought and an outlook on the phsique of JAPAN and Now expends a great effort on the SUMO-globalization.
