Objective: The potential of aqueous extract of Christ’s thorn jujube (<i>Ziziphus spina-christi</i>) leaves (SLAE) to reduce the negative impacts of heat stress on production performance and physiological traits was investigated in dual-purpose layers under subtropical farming. Methods: A total of 200, 25-week-old laying hens (Inshas strain) were randomly assigned to four dietary treatments including SLAE at 0, 2.5, 5.0, and 7.5 mL/kg, respectively. The average temperature-humidity index value was 26.69 during the experimental period. The SLAE contained saponin (0.045%), total flavonoid content of 17.9 mg of quercetin equivalent/ 100 g and overall antioxidant capacity concentration of 17.9 mg of ascorbic acid equivalent/100 g.Results: The maximum final body weight (BW), BW gain, egg weight, number, and mass occurred at the level of SLAE7.5 inclusion. The egg quality was significantly higher in SLAE groups than in control, and overall, SLAE7.5 had the most favorable influence at 28 and 32 weeks. Liver and kidney function, as well as lipids profile, improved significantly by SLAE inclusion; the lowest concentrations of these parameters were in SLAE7.5 hens. Treatment with SLAE7.5 increased total antioxidant capacity and endogenous antioxidant enzymes compared to control, whereas no effect on superoxide dismutase was noticed. Conclusion: The addition of SLAE at 7.5 mL/kg diet improved egg laying performance and quality, metabolic profiles, and antioxidant status during hyperthermia conditions. In this paper we introduced the concept of perfect folding defined on $E^2$ which equipped by perfect k-coloring of r-monohedral tillings. Then we studied the different cases of perfect foldings of 4-monohedral and 3-monohedral tillings of $E^2$. Also the permutations describe each folding are obtained.
Short and Long RC Columns with Internal WWM Reinforcement under Concentric and Eccentric Compression
Ahmed M. El-Kholy,Safaa F. Abd El-Rahman,Mohamed M. El-Assaly 한국콘크리트학회 2023 International Journal of Concrete Structures and M Vol.17 No.3
Recently, various types of steel meshes were used as additional internal reinforcement for improving the confinement, ductility, and strength of the reinforced concrete (RC) columns. In this experimental study, a welded wire mesh (WWM) layer was used as an internal reinforcement in addition to the traditional steel reinforcement (longitudinal bars and transverse ties) for short and long RC columns under concentric and eccentric compression. Thirty-six square RC columns with two slenderness ratios λ (height to width ratio) of 9 and 18 were tested under compression with eccentricity ratios e/t (eccentricity to section thickness ratio) of 0, 0.13, and 0.26. The reference columns were traditionally reinforced with longitudinal steel bars and transverse ties with a reference volumetric ratio ρr of 0.44%. The other columns comprised a WWM layer wrapped outside the ties whose volumetric ratio ranged from 0.22% to 0.44%. The results demonstrated that the columns reinforced with a WWM layer in addition to traditional reinforcement showed an improvement in ductility and strength compared to those reinforced with longitudinal bars and transverse ties only. A WWM layer increased the ultimate load of the columns comprising ρr ties by approximately 16% and 9% for short and long columns, respectively. These improvements were proportional to the ties volumetric ratio.

Layer-by-layer (LbL) chemical deposition technique was successfully implemented as a low cost and efficient methodology for adsorptive removal of Mn(II)–Mn(VII) from aqueous and nonaqueous matrices. Several factors showed significant contributions to the adsorption process of Mn(II) such as solution pH,deposition area, reaction temperature, dipping cycles, dipping time and metal ion concentration. Mn(VII)was reduced via a green chemical process by the action of oxalic acid in an acidic medium to the corresponding Mn(II) and extracted in its reduced form. The potential applications of LbL for static adsorptive removal of Mn(II)–Mn(VII) from aqueous and nonaqueous samples were established.

Finite element simulation for steel tubular members strengthened with FRP under compression
Ahmed M. El Kholy,Sherif A. Mourad,Ayman A. Shaheen,Yomna A. Mohamed 국제구조공학회 2019 Structural Engineering and Mechanics, An Int'l Jou Vol.72 No.5
Tubular steel sections are widespread all over the world because of their strength and aesthetic appearance. Tubular steel members may exhibit local buckling such as elephant foot or overall buckling under extreme compression load. Recently, external bonding of fiber reinforced polymers (FRP) sheets for strengthening these members has been explored through experimental research. This paper presents three-dimensional nonlinear finite element analysis (FEA) to investigate the structural behavior of strengthening tubular steel members with FRP against local and overall buckling phenomena. Out-of-roundness and out-of-straightness imperfections were introduced to the numerical models to simulate the elephant foot and overall buckling, respectively. The nonlinear analysis preferences such as the integration scheme of the shell elements, the algorithm for solution of nonlinear equations, the loading procedure, the bisection limits for the load increments, and the convergence criteria were set, appropriately enough, to successfully track the sophisticated buckling deformations. The agreement between the results of both the presented FEA and the experimental research was evident. The FEA results demonstrated the power of the presented rigorous FEA in monitoring the plastic strain distribution and the buckling phenomena (initiation and propagation). Consequently, the buckling process was interpreted for each mode (elephant foot and overall) into three sequential stages. Furthermore, the influence of FRP layers on the nonlinear analysis preferences and the results was presented.

Purpose: Bovine respiratory disease is a worldwide health concern in the feedlot cattle causing morbidity and mortality in young with major economic losses to the producer. Programs of vaccination are integral parts of preventive health programs. We aim to prepare and evaluate lyophilized combined inactivated viruses (bovine viral diarrhea virus [BVDV] genotypes 1 and 2, bovine herpes virus type 1.1 [BoHV-1.1], bovine parainfluenza-3 virus [BPI-3V], and bovine respiratory syncytial virus [BRSV]) vaccine using saponin as a solvent and adjuvant in cattle. Materials and Methods: Lyophilized Pneumo-5 vaccine was formulated to include the inactivated BVDV genotypes 1 and 2, BoHV-1.1, BPI-3V, and BRSV. The saponin solution was used as an adjuvant and solvent. The prepared vaccines were adjusted to contain 1- and 1.5-mg saponin/dose. It was evaluated for its sterility, safety, and potency in mice and calves. The antibody titers in vaccinated calves were measured by virus neutralization test and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Results: The Pneumo-5 vaccine was found to be free from any contaminants and safe in mice. Meanwhile, the vaccine showed safety in calves which inoculated intramuscularly with the double dose of the vaccines. The overall immune response reached its peak in the 2nd-month post-vaccination. The vaccine contained saponin 1.5 mg/dose reached its antibodies peak in the 4th-week post-vaccination. All groups of vaccinated calves with both concentrations of the saponin did not show statistical significance in antibody titers measured by serum neutralization test and/or ELISA. Conclusion: The prepared vaccine, namely Pneumo-5, and adjuvanted with either 1 or 1.5 mg/dose saponin was proved safe and potent for effectual protection of calves against BVDV genotypes 1 and 2, BoHV-1.1, BPI-3V, and BRSV.

4-Arylazo-1H-pyrazol-3, 5-idimines 1a-c reacted with bromomalononitrile (2) to yield the corresponding imidazo[1, 2-b]pyrazoles 3a-c. The latter reacted with some active methylene compounds and with .alpha.-cinnamonitriles to afford the corresponding pyrazoloimidazopyridines 6, 8, 9 and 15, respectively. Compounds 3 reacted with each of formic acid, formamide, trichlo-roacetonitrile and with guanidine to yield the corresponding pyrazoloimidazopyrimidines 16-19 respectively.
