      • Comparison of Characteristics of Soybean Varieties Grown in a Green House and open Field for Leaf Use

        Jeju islanders consume soybean leaves as a wrapping for slices of raw fish and pork, eating mainly the young, raw, but fully extended leaf. These leaves are known to contain several kinds of functioning compounds, such as amino acids, isoflavones, flavonoids and pterocarpans. Farmers grow soybean leaves, but different soybean varieties and their characteristics for soybean leaf production have not been studied. Therefore, this study compared agronomic characteristics and iso flavones among varieties grown in a green house and in an open field. The results were as follows: There were differences in agronomic characteristics among the varieties and between places grown; generally, indoor growing produced bigger and more abundant leaves of higher quality. There were also differences in isoflavone contents in soybean leaves. Soybean leaves harvested earlier contained higher amounts in total concentration. Plants grown outside showed slightly higher but, different concentrations of the compunds studied. These results indicate that it is possible to control the isoflavone levels with varieties used, and harvest time and place.

      • Low Temperature Sintering and Electrical Properties of Sr₂Nb₂O_(7) Ceramics by the Chemical Coprecipitation Method

        Strontium niobate, Sr_(2)Nb_(2)O_(7), was prepared by the chemical coprecipitation method at low temperatures, using Sr_(2)Cl_(2)6H_(2)O, NbCI_(5) and HO_(2)CCO_(2)H. The foil nation of Sr_(2)Nb_(2)O_(7) occurred at 800℃ via an intermediate phase of composition, close to that of Sr_(5)Nb_(4)O_(15) at 700℃. The resulting powder was observed to have finer and a more uniform partical size distribution, as compared to those obtained through conventional methods, These powder characteristics allowed the use of a much lower sintering temperature of 1400℃, without sacrificing the desired dielectric and piezoelectric properties. Grain-orientation along <0k0> direction, which is a cause for improved electrical properties, was also observed.

        조구등(釣鉤藤)의 4-VO로 유발한 흰쥐뇌허혈에 대한 신경방어효과

        Uncariae Ramulus et Uncus(UR, ???) has sweet in flavour and slightly cold in property, acting on the liver and pericardium channels. This drug was described in a medical classic as having the ability to remove "heat", check hyperfunction of the liver and relieve dizziness, tremors, and convulsion, and subdue "endogenous wind". So this study was planned to check the neuroprotective effect of UR on the global ischemia induced by 4-vessel occlusion in Wistar rats. and UR extract was lyophilized after extraction with 70% methanol. We induced 4-vessel occlusion for 10 minutes and reperfused again. The number of CA1 pyramidal neurons were counted after 7 days of reperfusion under the cresyl violet staining. In 4-VO ischemia model, UR showed significantly neuroprotective effects(1,000 and 500 ㎎/㎏ of UR extracts, p<0.05) compared with control group. Each neuroprotective ratio was about 23.0%, 19.0% respectively. Consequently, Uncariae Ramulus et Uncus has neuroprotective effects on the global ischermia induced by 4-vessel occlusion in Wistar rats. So we expect that Uncariae Ramulus et Uncus can be used as a drug for neurodegenerative disease.

      • 한약에 의해 유발된 급성 간질성 신염 2례

        간질성 신염은 신장의 간질을 선택적으로 침범하는 염증성 질환으로 여러가지 원인에 의해 유발되며, 이 중 약물에 의한 경우는 각종 항생제, 비스테로이드성 진통제, 항경련제, 이뇨제, 면역억제제등에 의한 증례들이 보고되고 있다. 현재 각종 질환-특히 만성질환-의 치료에서 한약이 차지하는 비중이 적지 않으나, 그 각각의 성분들이 유발할 수 있는 부작용들에 대한 연구는 거의 없는 실정이다. 저자들은 관절염 치료를 위해 중국산 한약을 복용한 후 복통, 피로감 및 육안적 혈뇨를 주소로 내원한 두 환자에서, 단백뇨와 신기능 장애를 보여 시행한 신조직 생검상 급성 간질성 신염에 합당한 병리학적 소견을 보이고, 한약 복용 중지 후 급속한 회복을 보여, 한약에 의해 유발된 것으로 사료되는 급성 간질성 신염 2예를 경험하였기에 문헌고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다. Acute interstitial nephritis is a disease characterized by renal interstitial inflammatory cell infiltration and acute renal functional deterioration. This is caused mainly by antibiotics, NSAID and diuretics such as thiazide, but cases induced by herb medication are rare. We experienced two cases of acute interstitial nephritis after treatment with herb medication. One 71-year-old female patient and the other 60-year-old female were admitted to the hospital because of general weakness and gross hematuria. Microscopic hematuria, pyuria, and proteinuria were presented. After definitive diagnosis with a renal biopsy, we noted rapid recovery of renal function by drug withdrawal and steroid therapy. We report these cases with a review of the referenced literatures. Key Words : Herb medication, Acute Interstitial nephritis.

      • 위상한정상관법을 이용한 지문인식

        본 논문은 위상한정상관법을 이용하여 지문을 인식하는 알고리듬을 제안한다. 이 알고리듬은 고속푸리 에 변환과 상관함수를 이용한다. 제안된 알고리듬은 동일인의 지문에 대하여 예리한 한개의 피크만을 나타내므로 지문인식에 대한 명확한 결과를 보여준다 . 더욱이 이 방법은 명확하게 입력되지 않은 지문에 대하여도 별도의 복잡한 전처리과정을 거치지 않고도 우수한 성능을 보여 준다. 또한 입력된 지문이 평행이동 한 경우에도 우수한 성능을 보여준다. 실험결과는 제안된 알고리듬이 지문을 인식하는데 효과적임을 보여준다. This paper proposes an algorithm for fingerprint identification using phase only correlation. This algorithm uses the phase of fast Fourier transform and correlation function. The algorithm gives very clear result for identification because it shows only one conspicuous sharp peak for the same person's fingerprint. Further, it shows good results even for the finger print images which are printed not clearly and does not need to preprocess the images. It also shows good results for parallel displacement of fingerprint. The experiment result show the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.

      • 토끼 동방결절의 부위에 따른 전기생리학적 특성의 차이에 관한 연구

        By a 3M KCI glass microelectrode, transmembrane potentials were recorded in the compact and transitional areas bounded by superior, inferior vena cava and left, right, atria. The results were as followings: 1. In 35℃, normal Tyrode solution, the beating frequency, maximum diastolic potential (M.D.P.) and overshoot potential (O.P.) in the compact and transitional areas were 180±17/min. and 210±19/min., -76±3.7㎷ and -73±2.4㎷, 15±2.9㎷ and 19±2.8㎷ respectively which showed the transitional area was faster, and showed more positive M.D.P., more positive O.P. 2. Adrenaline made the transitional area more sensitively the frequency faster, more steeper the pacemaker potential, more positive the overshoot potential. 3. Tetrototoxin (TTX) has been found to be more sensitive on the transitional area to be less steeper the slope of pacemaker potential and the frequency slower. 4. Blocking the calcium current by 2mM Mn^2+ made the compact area, more sensitively and sometimes irreversible to reduce the beating frequency, overshoot potential and M.D.P.

        Recently there have been increasing demands for humidity-sensing elements applicable automatic humidity controlling system. There have been many reports about humidity sensors using materials such as electrolytes, organic polymers and metal oxides. Among them, those which utilize the conductivity change of metal oxides have been investigated actively. Thin film SnO_(2)/Al_(2)O_(3)/TiO_(2) devices were fabricated by evaporating the SnO_(2) powder mixed with 20.0wt% Al_(2)O_(3)and 10.0 wt% TiO_(2), and sintering them at the condition of 700℃-1hr in _(2). Analysis of FTIR indicates that water molecular act as an electron-donating gas and their chemisorption increases or decreases the electron conductivity depending on the n- or p- type. Sensing characteristics of thin film devices based on humidity-sensitive electrical properties have been investigated by response time and changes of resistance to relative humidity. Oxide filters, consisting mainly of Al_(2)O_(3) or SiO_(2) are formed on the sensors to cut off undesired sensitivity to common inflammable gases. Our experimental results suggest that metal oxide thin film can be used as humidity sensor and applicable to miniaturization and integration of sensors.

      • 이산화망간의 오존분해 특성에 관한 연구

        Decomposition of Ozone was carried out on the IC Manganese dioxide and other type of materials. Decomposition activities of the IC manganese dioxide increased roughly in the order of the increase in their surface area, activity coefficient, and impurities. γ-Type manganese dioxide had much higher activities than either the β-MnO_2, δ-MnO_2 and α-MnO_2. The materials can be prepared either by mixing MnO_2 and SiO_2, Silver powder, Ag_2O, AgO or impregnate the AgNO_3. Reduced MnO_2 by the reducing agent are tested for Ozone decomposition. Performance and Ozone decomposition characteristics of the several materials are described in relation to the preparation conditions and MnO_2 contents.
