Samuel Johnson's "Art of Thinking" in Rasselas : Rasselas에 나타난 Samuel Johnson의 사유(思惟)방법

본 논문은 Rasselas에 나타난 Samuel Johnson의 사유(思惟)방법을 살펴봄을 목적으로 한다. "어떻게 살 것인가"라는 물음을 던지는 이 작품에서 Johnson은 대조적인 해결책을 제시하는데 이를 통해 작가로서는 균형(balance)을 유지하고 독자들은 선택의 여지를 갖게 된다. 더 나아가 Johnson은 제시된 두 해결책을 초월하는 경우를 제시하기도 한다. 이러한 방법들을 통해 Johnson은 어떤 절대적 진리의 존재를 부인하는 동시에 어떠한 주의·주장도 실제의 삶의 과정에서 점검되지 않으면 의미가 없다는 자신의 생각을 드러내는 것이다. 이러한 균형감을 바탕으로 한 Rasselas가 Johnson의 어느 다른 작품보다도 독자들의 꾸준한 사랑을 받는 것은 당연한 일이다.

중간가공열처리를 거친 8090 Al-Li 합금의 Delamination과 저온기계적성질

Low temperature tensile properties and charpy V-notch impact properties of 8090 Al-Li Alloy have been studied after thermomechanical treatment. The test samples were machined in the L-T direction. By decreasing the test temperature, both the strenghth and elongation, and the impact energy have been increased. The cracks have propagated along the grain boundaries in the longitudinal direction. Delaminations in the tested samples have been increased by decreasing the test temperature. The increase of total delamination length in a sample corresponded to the increased fracture toughness value, and the impact energies. Cold working after solution treatment contributed decreasing the delamination and impact energy, when compared with the non-cold worked case.

산개구리 초기발생계에 미치는 Hg, Pb, Cd의 영향

In order to evaluate the toxicity of Hg, Pb, Cd on the develoment of Rana dybowskii embryos. The collected embryos were induced to develop from the fertilized egg to the 32 cell in Amphibian Ringer(AR) with various concentration of the heavy metal ions. The results were as follows; 1. All ions retarded or suppressed the development of embryos. 2. The deveopment of 2 cell embryos to 32 cell was completely suppressed at 2.5ppm of Hg, 1ppm of Pb, 0.1ppm of Cd. 3. The toxicity of the metal ions to the embryos became stronger in the following order; Hg < Pb < Cd. 4. The longer the embryos were exposed to the metal ions, the more damages appearedto the embryos and the cytolysis of the blastomeres was induced by Cd at relatively low concentrations.

황룡강에 서식하는 어류의 중금속 레벨에 관한 연구

황룡강에서 서식하는 어류의 중금속 오렴레벨을 알아보기 위하여 1995년 상류와 하류에서 총 15종 47개체의 어류를 채집하여 Pb, Cd, Mn, Cu, Zn, Fe의 6개 원소의 농도를 측정하여 비교ㆍ분석하였다. 원소별 농도는 Fe>Zn>Mn>Cu>Pb>Cd의 순으로 나타났으며 각 원소의 농도레벨은 전반적으로 낮아 Background레벨을 반영하였다. 상류와 하류의 지역간에는 대부분의 원소에서 농도차이는 없었으나 Cd의 경우 상류가 하류보다 2배이상 높게 나타났다. 어류의 식성간에는 오염원소인 Pb과 Cd만 평균농도에서 차이가 있었고 나머지 필수원소들은 모두 차이가 없었다. Pb은 육식성>초식성>잡식성의 순을 나타내었고, Cd는 육식성이 가장 높았고 초식성과 잡식성은 비슷하게 낮았다. 각 어종별 원소농는 세계 각 국에서 설정한 어류에 대한 식품으로서의 최대 허용 레벨을 기준으로 하여 비교ㆍ검토하였다. Analyses of 6 heavy metals in 15 species of freshwater fish from Hwangryong River, 1995, were presented. Heavy metal levels were generally low and within the range of values previously reported from non-polluted regions. A rank of heavy metal level was Fe>Zn>Mn>Cu>PB>Cd. The mean metal levels in upper stream and down stream were not different except Cd level. It is two times higher in upper than in down. Pb and Cd levels of carnivorous fish were significantly higher than those of herbivorous and omnivorous. Some metal levels in fish species were discussed in the view of their consumption by humans.

大防風湯이 흰쥐의 臟器組織에 미치는 影響

The effects of Daebangpoongtang on the liver, stomach, kidney and spleen of normal and collagen-induced arthritis rats were investigated using histological and histochemical methods. The results were as follows ; 1. The slight cloudy swelling was observed in the liver of Daebangpoongtang treated normal rats (N-DA) as compared with normal rats, however additional changes such as inflammation and denser PAS stainability in cytoplasm showed in both D.W treated arthritis rats (A-DW) and Daebangpoongtang treated arthritis rats (A-DA). 2. In the stomach, a few disordered surface epithelial lining were seen and difference stainabilities of PAS and sWGA were also demonstrated. 3. In the kidney, a few injuried cells occured in the proximal convoluted tubule of N-DA. And with these changes, unclear glomerulus and Bowman's capsule as well as different stainabilities of PAS, SBA aid BSL-1 were present in the A-DW and A-DA. 4. No siginficant difference existed between normal and experimental group in the spleen. The morphological and histochemical changes of internal organs in the A-DW and A-DA were noted slight inflammation and different stainabilities as compared with normal rats, while these changes were not significant in the N-DA. Consequently above results suggest that Daebangpoongtang has temporary effect on the normal rats.

From Epic to Novel : 알렉산더 포프의『머리타래의 강탈』연구 A Reading of Alexander Pope's The Rape of the Lock

본 논문은, 러시아의 비평가 M. M. Bakhtin의 관점에서 18세기 영국의 시인 Alexander Pope의 The Rape of the Lock 서사시보다는 소설을 더 많이 닳은 시로서 재평가함을 목적으로 한다. 고상함과 사소함을 병치함으로써 서사시의 가장 큰 특징인 독자와의 거리감을 일소한 The Rape of the Lock은 Bakhtin의 이른바 "소설화된" 시의 특징을 보인다. The Rape of the Lock은 더 나아가 먼 역사적 과거가 아닌 당대 현실을 대상으로 한다는 점에서도 소설과 비슷하다. 18세기 영국에서 소설이 "발생"한 것도 같은 맥락에서 이해될 수 있다.

A METHOD ON AUTOMATIC TRANSLATION OF SEQUENTIAL PROGRAMS INTO DATA FLOW PROGRAMS

기존의 Von Neumann Model 방식의 Sequential Program을 Speed-up 시키는 방법들이 연구되어왔다. 이는 Von Neumann Model방식의 Uni-processor를 사용해서 program을 execution시키는 speed-up에 한계가 있다는 것이다. 그래서 sequential program을 speed-up execution 시키기 위해서 multi-processor를 도입하였고 multi-processor에서는 program을 execution 시키는데 parallel processing을 해야만 execution time을 speed-up시킬 수 있다. 이런 parallel processing에 근거를 두고 개발 된 system 이 data flow system이다. 그러나 기존의 Von Neumann 방식의 sequential program은 data flow system에서 직접 execution 시킬 수 없다. 그러므로 기존의 sequential program을 data flow execution 시키기 위한 automatic translation 방법을 도입하였다. 이를 위하여 본 paper에서는 dependency testing algorithm 과 automatic translation algorithm을 도입하였고, 이를 이용하여 sequential program을 data flow program으로 automatic 하게 translation하였다.

D.H. Lawrence의 Aaron's Rod 연구 : -In Relation to His Theory of 'Power'- -그의 '힘'의 이론과 관련하여-

This paper proposes to study Lawrence's Aaron's Rod, one of the so-called "leadership novels" that deal chiefly with the problem of "leadership", and are intimately realted to the theory of "power", which Lawrence advances in order to cunterbalance the heavy emphasis on the "love-ideal" prevalent in modern society. Although usually neglected by most critics as Lawrence's minor works, these "leadership novels" have their significance in developing the problem of true and deep relationship between men, "another kind of love", presented but left unresolved in their predecessor, Women in Love. Birkin's offer of Blutbruderschaft in that novel fails to be accepted because of Gerald's ultimate refusal. The "leardship novels" which follow take up the problem and go on to develop it more extensively. However, the relationship between Lilly and Aaron, the two main figures in Aaron's Rod, is portrayed quite differently from that presented in Women in Love. It is no longer the relationship of brotherhood but rather a leather-follower bond, resting on the principle of "power". After peregrinating through the decadent society of postwar Europe, Aaron feels inclined to rely on Lilly as his leader who will give the "guidance for life". But neither of them can remain in this decadent society any longer and consequently they leave it for another continent. The very fact that the Lawrentian figures in Aaron's Rod depart from the world where they have stayed, once they find it undesirable to live in, shows that the issues by "leadership novels" are too difficult for any writer to give a neat solution, and thus directly pointing to us the immensity and complicity of the problems that he could do no more than bring up.

직교함수에 의한 쌍일차계의 상태관측에 관한 연구

This studies an application of orthogonal functions for the analysis and state observation of bilinear systems. The key idea is based on the fact that a bilinear equation can be converted into a set of linear algebraic equations by expanding the state equation a series of orthogonal functions. A new method for state estimation of bilinear systems is presented, which is a single term expansion of orthogonal functions. The method presented here does not require any matrix inversion in order to obtain the expansion coefficients and eliminates the cumbersome procedures to find Kronecker product. Thus the computing time and required memory size can be significantly reduced. Therefore, the single term method proved to be an efficient tool for estimating the state of bilinear systems. Futhermore, the convergence characteristic of single term orthogonal function for bilinear systems is very good. Several examples are presented to demonstrate the simplicity and effectiveness of the single term method.
