Dried apple bugak, a traditional Korean dried food, was made using superfine powders of glutinous rice (GR), non-glutinous rice (NGR), and Wasabia koreana Nakai leaf (WKNL) as coating materials. This study aimed to determine the effect of coating sliced apples with superfine GR powders substitute with superfine NGR and WKNL powders at different ratios. Apple slices coated with superfine GR, NGR and WKNL powders were air-fried and compared with dried and air-fried apple bugak coated with superfine GR powders. The results showed that coating apple slices with superfine GR powders with the addition of superfine NGR and WKNL powders significantly increased oil absorption capacity and antioxidant activity but reduced viscosity, water absorption capacity, total polyphenol, total flavonoids contents, and improved color and structural improvements. Among all the samples, 80:20:5-treated (GR:NGR:WKNL) dried and air-fried bugak showed enhanced quality characteristics. Thus, the results suggested that coating apple slices by the substituting GR superfine rice powders with 10 or 20% of NGR and 3 or 5% of WKNL superfine powders produces good quality dried and air-fried bugak with nutritious characteristics.

Background: Endemic circulation of human-specific hepatitis E virus (HEV) genotypes 1 and 2 may occult the importance of sporadic zoonotic HEV transmissions in Africa. Increasing numbers of studies reporting anti-HEV antibodies in cattle and the discovery of infectious HEV in cow milk has raised public health concern, but cattle exposure has seldom been investigated in Africa. Objectives: This study aimed at investigating the role of cows in the epidemiology of HEV in Burkina Faso and farmers habits in terms of dairy product consumption as a prerequisite to estimate the risk of transmission to humans. Methods: Sera from 475 cattle and 192 pigs were screened for the presence of anti-HEV antibodies while HEV RNA in swine stools was detected by reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction. Data on mixed farming, dairy product consumption and selling habits were gathered through questionnaires. Results: The overall seroprevalence in cattle was 5.1% and herd seroprevalence reached 32.4% (11/34). Herd seropositivity was not associated with husbandry practice or presence of rabbits on the farms. However, herd seropositivity was associated with on-site presence of pigs, 80.7% of which had anti-HEV antibodies. The majority of farmers reported to preferentially consume raw milk based dairy products. Conclusions: Concomitant presence of pigs on cattle farms constitutes a risk factor for HEV exposure of cattle. However, the risk of HEV infections associated with raw cow dairy product consumption is currently considered as low.
MUSLIM CHRISTIAN ENCOUNTER IN GHANA
Nuekpe Dieudonne Komla 횃불트리니티신학대학원대학교 한국이슬람연구소 2019 Muslim - Christian Encounter Vol.12 No.2
Christian-Muslim encounter is part of the mission of the Kingdom of God which has a goal of redeeming all humanity. Christians and Muslims have been historically engaged in competitive truth claim characterized by violence. In Ghana, Christians engage Muslims in a peaceful way by means of an integrative community, education and political lifestyle. However, there is always a battle centered on power struggle and soul winning in regards to evangelism. Evangelizing Muslims in Ghana is focused on the provision of social services and theological dialogue. However, such social services and theological debate are not enough to share gospel to Muslims especially given the power-oriented nature of Ghanaian society. In addition, the rationality of the truth claim of Islam and its consequent appeal to the natural mind renders it difficult to persuade Muslims on the basis of theology. Moreover, the animistic practices of Folk Islam in Ghana and its commonalities with traditional African religions create further challenges in the conversion of Muslims into Christianity. Thus, this paper maintains that a power encounter through the work of the Holy Spirit in missions is the most effective missiological approach to evangelizing Muslims in Ghana.
TOWARDS AN EFFECTIVE WITNESS TO FOLK MUSLIMS IN GHANAIAN CONTEXT
KOMLA, NUEKPE DIEUDONNE 횃불트리니티신학대학원대학교 한국이슬람연구소 2022 Muslim - Christian Encounter Vol.15 No.1
Many missionaries struggle to effectively share the gospel with Muslims due to a lack of appropriate approaches. Among the numerous reasons for unsuccessful witness to Muslims, one significant roadblock is a lack of appropriate contextualization of the gospel message. This paper posits that in Ghana, where Muslims are predominantly influenced by African Traditional Religion, an understanding of folk Islam will open doors to effectively share the gospel. Christians can successfully engage folk Muslims with the gospel by presenting Jesus as an ancestor in the Ghanaian folk context, introducing the Holy Spirit, leaning on the power of oral Word proclamation, and presenting the truth with the grace and love of Jesus Christ.
CHRISTIAN-MUSLIM RELATIONS IN GHANA: UNDERSTANDING THE DIFFERENCES FOR BETTER ENGAGEMENT
KOMLA, NUEKPE DIEUDONNE 횃불트리니티신학대학원대학교 한국이슬람연구소 2022 Muslim - Christian Encounter Vol.15 No.2
Properly understanding and engaging Muslims with the gospel is a challenge for Christians in Ghana, where evangelism can lead to serious conflict. Thus, many Ghanaian Christians choose to sweep Christianity and Islam’s differences under the carpet as a pretext to ensure peaceful coexistence. Unfortunately, forgetting these differences does not often result in peace and harmony. Instead, a better understanding of the essential convergences and divergences of the faiths is necessary for sharing the gospel with Muslims. This paper raises awareness of these similarities and differences within the context of Ghanian folk Islam and considers existing bridges, theological mediums, and the existential needs of folk Muslims that enable bridges to be built for Christian-Muslim engagement.

( Gwet Nyemeck Dieudonne Valery ),황기현 ( Gee-hyun Hwang ) 대한설비관리학회 2017 대한설비관리학회지 Vol.22 No.1
This research aims to identify key factors that affect the effective implementation of the ICT master plan in developing countries. For this, the authors used a convergent mixed method which collects qualitative and quantitative data in response to research question. Based on the UN Model for strategic planning, the first part of this research compared Cameroon case with three other countries in order to identify some factors which reduce the implementation rate of the ICT master plan. Then, this study formulated a conceptual research model to include four factors(preliminary study, prioritization, communication, elaboration) from the comparative study and two factors(resources, external factors) from Heeks` model. The 126 valid data analysis results indicate that three factors(preliminary study, communication, resources) except two(prioritization, external factors) affect elaboration which impacts the implementation of ICT master plan. In final, this study provides some implications on how to successfully implement an ICT mater plan in developing countries.

The present study examines the news frames of the FOCAC summit 2018, presented by CGTN, France 24, the BBC, and SABC channels. We conducted an inductive content analysis of 41 video clips of news, reports, and TV shows, broadcasted during the summit. Findings showed that Television channels framed the FOCAC summit, mainly from different perspectives, suggesting a divergence in the public diplomacy purpose of each country. Media reported news stories that diverged China, South Africa, United Kingdom, and France narratives in framing FOCAC s identity, trade cooperation, development and economic interests. Frames such as Financial supplier vs Predatory loans or new economic order vs developing new hegemony, highlight the international rivalries between China and the West concerning Africa. While their rivalries are growing, frames such as not a bystander and inward challenges unveil how African countries attempt to play one s card right, in this international competition.
Paraplegia Following Spinal Cord Contusion from an Indirect Gunshot Injury
Khuram Khan,Beatrice Dieudonne,Saqib Saeed,Sara Alothman,Yasir Saeed,Sanjiv Gray,Khuram Khan 대한신경손상학회 2018 Korean Journal of Neurotrauma Vol.15 No.1
Spinal cord injuries are debilitating and life threatening. Paraplegia due to direct traumatic gunshot injury to the spinalcord is common. The most common cause of spinal cord injury is road traffc accidents. This is followed by spinal cord injury due to a fall from a height. Most of the spinal cord injuries due to gunshot wounds occur as a result of direct traumatic effects. We present a rare case of a 49-year-old male with trauma. He developed paraplegia after a gunshot wound injuryto the neck and contusion to the spinal cord, with no direct trauma. Paraplegia due to direct gunshot injury can have manydifferent outcomes. In our case, the patient was managed conservatively, and the outcome was favorable
