The active and reactive power transfers to and from nodes connected to h.v.d.c. links do not obey the general rules of a.c. power transmission, the active power is independent of phase angle relationships and the reactive power is not directly related to voltage variation. Under such circumstances it is difficult to visualize h.v.d.c. model compatible with the behaviour of the fast decoupled algorithm. However, acknowledging the general acceptance of fast decoupled programes and the existence of some h.v.d.c. links(particularly considering their large power-carrying capacitors) a model of the h.v.d.c. transmission link suitable for incorporation with fast decoupled loadflow programes is described in the following sections.

<P>Dielectric and piezoelectric properties of lead-free (1-x)(Bi0.5K0.5)TiO3-xBiFeO(3) ceramics prepared by a conventional solid-state reaction method were studied in the range of x = 0 similar to 40 mol%. A tetragonal perovskite structure was maintained at x = 0 similar to 10 mol% forming a solid solution between (Bi0.5K0.5)TiO3 and BiFeO3 with no secondary phase. Piezoelectric coefficient (d(33)) increased from 31 pC/N at x = 0 mol% to 64 pC/N at x = 6 mol% and then decreased with further addition of x. Depolarization temperature (T-d) gradually decreased with increasing x from 302 degrees C at x = 0 mol% to 163 degrees C at x = 20 mol% and slightly increased up 180 degrees C at x = 40 mol%.</P>

This paper presents a Fuzzy Control Technique to improve the load frequency control dynamics of a power system for a given stepwise load perturbation. A related simulation results follow and show that the optimized rules by the proposed technique are very effective for reduction of overshoot and deviation of load frequency in steady-state, and for minimization of settling time.

본 증례는 산모의 혈청 속에 존재하는 항-C+e 항체 중 IgG type의 항-C 항체만 태반을 통과하여 발생된 신생아 용혈성 질환으로 산모 혈청 속에 존재하는 항-C의 항체역가는 1:256, 신생아는 1:32를 보였으며 IgM type의 항-e는 산모의 혈청에서만 1:2048의 높은 항체역가를 보였다. 따라서 신생아의 혈청 혈액형 검사가 AHG phase에서 A 혹은 B 혈구에 응집 반응이 일어났다면 동종항체에 의한 응집 반응인지 IgG type의 항-A 혹은 B 항체에 의한 것인지를 구별해야 할 것이며, 이를 위해서는 산모 및 신생아의 항체 선별검사 및 신생아의 ABO 혈구형 검사와 혈청 혈액형 검사가 AHG phase까지 반드시 실시되어야 할 것이다. We describe a case of hemolytic disease of newborn due to anti-C derived from mother who have anti-C+e The titer of anti-C was 1:256 in mother`s serum and 1:32 in serum of nenonate suffering hemolytic disease of newborn. The titer of anti-e was 1:2048 found only in mother`s serum. Because it was IgM antibody, it could not cross the placenta. In order to confirm causative antibody and make a plan for safe transfusion in case of hemolytic disease of newborn, we must investigate the blood group antibody status of both mother and neonate including immunoglobulin types of antibody such as IgG and IgM

The vibration and noise of gears is due to the vibrational exciting force caused by the tooth stiffness which changes periodically as the mesh of teeth proceeds and by the transmission error, that is, the rotation delay between driving gear and driven gear caused by manufacturing error and alignment error in assembly and so on. The vibrational exciting force between ring gear and planet gear is smaller than that between sun gear and planet gear in the planetary gear train with the thin-rimmed gear. The purpose of this study is to develop how to calculate the optimum amounts of tooth profile modification, by minimizing the vibrational exciting force of sun-planet gears. The proposed method can calculate the optimum amounts of tooth profile modification automatically and is to be utilized to resolve the problem of vibration of planetary gear tarin.<br/>
Functional Impairment of Rat Taurine Transporter by Activation of Nitrogen Oxide through Superoxide

The objective of this study was to identify the nitrogen oxide form(s) involved in the functional impairment of the rat taurine transport system. Taurine uptake activity in the rat renal brush border membrane vesicle (RBBMV) preparation or Xenopus laevis oocytes that express the rat taurine transporter was compared after the pretreatment with nitrogen oxide donors from which nitric oxide (NO) is released at different rates. The functional impairment was associated with a reduced Vmax, but did not involve an alteration in the Km, of taurine uptake in the RBBMV preparation that had been pretreated with sodium nitroprusside, a slow release nitric oxide (NO) donor. When the preparation was pretreated with S-nitroso- N-acetyl penicillamine, a rapid release NO donor, the activity of taurine uptake was unaffected. The activity was not statistically different from the control after the pretreatment with sodium nitroprusside and superoxide dismutase. Consistent with the study with RBBMV, a similar alteration in the activity of taurine uptake by NO donors was observed in oocytes expressing the transporter. Considering the fact that peroxynitrite, a highly reactive nitrogen oxide form, is formed by the reaction between NO and superoxide, the taurine transporter, and probably other transport systems as well, may be functionally impaired by peroxynitrite.
