        평행봉 피터스 동작의 운동학적 분석

The purpose of this study was to investigate the kinematic variables of peters motion in parallel bars. The subjects were 3 male national gymnasts. For this study, kinematic data were collected using video camera. Coordinate data were low-pass filtered using a fourth-order Butterworth with cutoff frequency of 6Hz. Each valuables analyzed was used to compare kinematic features between the subjects. The conclusions were as follows; 1. For a stable regrasp motion, the subjects appeared to increase horizontal and vertical displacement during the DS phase because it induce a vertical elastic of body and reaction of bar for the US phase. 2. For a stable hand standing motion of the regrasp, the subjects appeared to maintain the fast vertical and horizontal velocity during the DS phase, but in contrary during the US and Air phase the vertical and horizontal velocity appeared to do decrease. 3. When the arm lean angle and the trunk lean angle maintain a big angle during the DS phase, the subjects appeared to do a stable performance to release in a high position.

      • Clinicopathological study on metastatic skin cancer

        Background: Various primary tumors can cause metastatic skin cancer. Metastatic skin lesion should be distinguished from other skin lesion. Objectives: We studied patients with metastatic skin cancer to find out average age, gender distribution, frequency of primary tumor, time interval between manifestation and primary cancer, and their clinical appearance, location and other metastatic sites. Methods: We reviewed the medical records, clinical photographs and histopathologic records of patients who had been diagnosed with metastatic skin cancer. Results: In the comparison according to clinical records, the mean age at the time of diagnosis was 60.6 years. The ratio of men to women was 1.05:1. The most frequent primary tumors were breast cancer (22.0%), lung cancer (17.0%), head and neck cancer (17%), melanoma (17.0%), gastrointestinal cancer (11%), urologic cancer (11%), and gynecologic cancer (6%). Metastatic skin cancers usually presented as discrete, painless, hard nodules, with sudden onset (88%). Conclusion: Based on the results of this study, it is believed that it is important to recognize the metastatic lesion between various skin lesion such as infections and granulomatous changes of other cause due to drugs and reactive changes.

      • Microfluidic capacitive sensors with ionic liquid electrodes and CNT/PDMS nanocomposites for simultaneous sensing of pressure and temperature

        <P>We report a new class of simple fluidic capacitive sensors based on microfluidic techniques, which are capable of multimodal sensing performances. The microfluidic multifunctional capacitive sensors were realized by using ionic liquids acting as electrodes in microchannels and a CNT/PDMS composite as a dielectric layer. Our microfluidic capacitive sensors offer outstanding sensor performance to detect localized pressure and even lateral pressure variation as well as ambient temperature changes. The principle of our new microfluidic capacitive sensors is explained by the electric double layer capacitance and the ion distribution along the ionic liquid electrodes. In order to demonstrate their capability for practical usage, our simple structured microfluidic capacitive sensors were applied to a bottle and human skin for monitoring the variation of pressure and temperature simultaneously. The highly sensitive microfluidic capacitive sensors were successfully applied as keypads and potential platforms for distinctively detecting various hand or finger motions such as tapping, scratching, and stacking. Our novel microfluidic multimodal capacitive sensors show great promise for making future stretchable electronic devices, such as wearable electronics, soft robotics, and artificial skin.</P>

      • A case of HPV-16 positive squamous cell carcinoma arose in vulva

        Squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) is the second most common non-melanoma skin cancer. In SCC, ultraviolet radiation is known as typical risk factor and it is mainly found on sun-exposed areas such as face, neck, and arm. SCC that occurs in a female vulva is a rare cancer. It represents 3-5% of gynecological cancers with an incidence of 2 per 100,000 women/year. It can occur at any age, mainly in women of the 6th decade. Clinically, it is represented as an erythematous to whitish colored patch and it may also be nodular or ulcerative appearance. A 76-year-old woman visited our hospital with multiple erythematous erosive patch on labia minora 6 months ago. We performed biopsy and we can confirm the diagnosis as SCC with no other metastasis. In addition, there was HPV-16 positive in HPV genotyping. The prognostic significance of HPV in vulva SCC is not established firmly. Some studies of vulva SCC have shown that HPV-associated SCC have a better prognosis where as others have not. HPV-associated SCC occur typically in younger women and HPV-independent SCC occur more frequently in older women. Herein, we report a case of 76-year-old woman with HPV-associated SCC.

        Cells immnunoreactive for somatostatin(SOM) and glucagon(GLU) were investigated in postnatal day 0, 7, 14, 28, 90, 180 and adult canine pancreas using light microscopic immunohistochemistry. Pancreatic SOM-immunoreactive cells were found in pancreatic acini, pancreatic duct, and pancreatic islet gradually. Pancreatic SOM-immunoreactive cells were more located in pancreatic parenchyme than pancreatic islet throughout pancreas by postnatal day 28. But there was change by the postnatal 3 months : pancreatic SOM-immunoreactive cells were more located in pancreatic islet than acini and duct. It is suggested that the number of the SOM-immunoreactive cells may not increase with age apparently. A small number of SOM-immunoreactive cells that showed GLU-immunoreactivity were also observed in canine pancreatic islet. The physiologic consequences of these changes remain to be determined. These results sugegest that SOM in the developing pancreas may relate to the secretion of pancreatic hormones.

        Gene Expression Analysis of the Bromobenzene Treated Liver with Non-hepatotoxic Doses in Mice

        Bromobenzene (BB) is well known hepatotoxicant. Also, BB is an industrial solvent that arouses toxicity predominantly in the liver where it causes centrilobular necrosis. BB is subjected to Cytochrome P450 mediated epoxidation followed by either conjugation with glutathione, enzymatic hydrolysis or further oxidation. In this study, we focused on BB-induced gene expression at non-hepatotoxic dose. Mice were exposed to two levels of BB, sampled at 24 h, and hepatic gene expression levels were determined to evaluate dose dependent changes. When examining the toxic dose of BB treated group in other previous studies, genes related to heat shock protein, oxidative stress, and drug metabolism are expressed. Compared to these results, our study, in which non-toxic dose of BB was administrated, showed similar patterns as the toxic conditions above. The purpose of the study was to select genes that showed changes in relation to the differing dose through confirmation of the difference within transcriptomic boundaries, but those that are not detected by the existing classic toxicology tools in non-hepatotoxic dose.

      • A survey of counseling and behavior regarding skin cancer

        Background: As the incidence of skin cancer increases, more information and education on skin cancer are needed. Although skin cancer is not rare, most patients are little known about general awareness of skin cancer. Objectives: The purpose of this study is to investigate the post-education effects on skin cancer in our hospital outpaitents and carers. Methods: We reviewed a written questionnaire and patients’ self-checked records including patients’ basic medical information and knowledge of skin cancer protective modalities. Results: In total 340 cases, 215 (63.2%) patients were female and 125 (36.8%) patients were male. 6 people in their teens, 56 people in their 20s and 30s, 156 people in their 40s and 50s, 122 people in their 60s or older. Before education, 142 people said sunlight can cause a skin cancer and 178 did not. After education, 246 people said Yes and 94 people did not. When asked how you wanted to get more information on skin cancer, 104 (30.6%) people said that they were printed handout, 142 (41.8%) were visit to dermatologists, 52 (15.3%) were photos of skin symptoms, and 42 (12.3%) were phone calls. Conclusion: This result showed that people are little known about risk factor of skin cancer such as sunlight and artificial tanning. However, we found that through education, people's perceptions could change. The education on behavior for skin cancer prevention should be continued so that the awareness of the risk of skin cancer can be changed.

      • Effect of metal coating in all-fiber acousto-optic tunable filter using torsional wave.

        <P>Torsional mode acousto-optic tunable filter (AOTF) is demonstrated using a metal-coated birefringent optical fiber for an improved robustness. The changes in acoustic and optical properties of a metal-coated birefringent optical fiber induced by the thin metal coating were analyzed experimentally and theoretically. The filter wavelength shift is successfully explained as a result of combined effect of acoustic wavelength change and optical birefringence change. We also demonstrated a small form-factor configuration by coiling the fiber with 6 cm diameter without performance degradation. The center wavelength of the filter can be tuned >35 nm by changing the applied frequency, and the coupling efficiency is higher than 92% with <5 nm 3-dB bandwidth.</P>

      • Treatment of alopecia areata with tofacitinib

        Background: Treatment of alopecia areata (AA) is often empiric and not yet satisfactory. Recently, Janus kinase inhibitor showed promising results in Caucasians. Objectives: To investigate efficacy, tolerability, and hair growth trajey of oral tofacitinib monotherapy for Korean AA patients over extended period. Methods: This is a retrospective study of adult AA patients treated with tofacitinib monotherapy for least 4 months. Results: Thirty-six Korean patients with median initial SALT score of 98.9 were included; 91.7% had refractory AA. Twenty-nine (80.6%) patients demonstrated more than 5% SALT change. Twenty patients (55.6%) achieved 50% SALT change at median 7.5 months with 5 mg twice dosage. There were significant differences between SALT 50 achievers and non-achievers: duration of current episode (ρ = 0.009), duration of disease since first onset (ρ = 0.026) and age at onset of first episode (ρ = 0.011). Tofacitinib was well tolerated and there was no any serious adverse effect such as malignancy or tuberculosis reactivation. Conclusion: Oral tofacitinib monotherapy may be effective and tolerable in patients with AA. SALT 50 achievement was associated with followings: duration of current episode, duration of disease since first onset, and age at onset of first episode.
