Background/Aims: There is a need for new anti-asthmatic medications with fewer side effects. NDC-052, an extract of the medicinal herb Magnoliae flos, which has a long history of clinical use, was recently found to have anti-inflammatory effects. Herein, we evaluated the effects of NDC-052 as an add-on therapy in patients with mild to moderate asthma using inhaled corticosteroids (ICS). Methods: In a non-comparative, multi-center trial, 148 patients taking ICS received NDC-052 for eight weeks. We evaluated their forced expiratory volume in one second (FEV1), morning and evening peak expiratory flow rate (AM and PM PEFR), AM/PM asthma symptom scores, visual analogue symptom (VAS) scores, night-time wakening, frequency of short-acting β2-agonist usage, and adverse events. Results: After eight weeks, both AM and PM PEFRs were significantly improved. Asthma symptom scores, VAS scores, the frequency of nights without awakening, and the frequency of β2-agonist use were also reduced. Most of the adverse drug reactions were mild and resolved spontaneously. Conclusions: The addition of NDC-052 to ICS had a beneficial effect on asthma control in patients with mild to moderate asthma, with good tolerability and fewer side effects. Further studies are necessary to evaluate the effects of NDC-052 in patients with severe and/or refractory asthma.

Background: EUS guided FNA has been used worldwide to diagnose pancreatic lesion and this study is to compare the cellprep(CP) methods with conventional smear(CS) methods in pancreas cytology. Methods: This is the prospective study. This study was done with total 49 pts who were suspected pancreatic cancer. Pancreatic diagnosis was used by EUS guided fi ne needle aspiration cytology. Centesis was done more than two. The fi nal diagnosis is done by biopsy, and clinical follow up. Results: To 49 patiants, 52 cytology were performed in our institution(among them, to two patiants, it was performed twice). two were the inadequate sample in CP, and all were adequate samples in CS. When inadequate sample, the samples were not divided equally. In CP and CS, the negative : 10% and 10%, atypical cell : 35% and 25%, suspicious : 15% and 30%, and malignant : 30% and 35%. The sensitivity of cellprep and CS : 66.7% and 83.3%, specifi city : 100% and 100%, positive predictive value : 100% and 100%, negative predictive value : 66.7% and 80%, accuracy : 80% and 90%. Conclusions: Cellprep methods were inferior than conventional smear methods, thus until liquied based cytology(cellprep) methods can not be replaced by conventional smear methods. However, because there was selection bias, we are studying with equal sample amount.
A Method of Superposition for Analysis of the Electrically Large Problem Including Many Vehicles
Chan-Sun Park,Yi-Ru Jeong,Kibum Jung,Jaekon Shin,Jong-Gwan Yook IEEE 2016 IEEE antennas and wireless propagation letters Vol.15 No.-

Commercialization and proliferation of intelligent transport systems (ITS) are progressing worldwide, including vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) and vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) communications. Meanwhile, analysis of the related electromagnetic environment is essential for safety-related legislation. However, the theoretical analysis for multiple vehicles poses an electrically large problem and requires enormous computational resources. In this letter, we propose a method of superposition that requires much less computational resources by subgrouping the computational domain and using an efficient post-processing method. The proposed method approximates the original problem by superpositioning the individual subdomain analysis data, including scatterers near the source and observation points. This letter also presents guidelines for applying the proposed method and examples for comparison with full analysis results.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to analyze the multicultural acceptance perception survey to verify the relationship between each demographic and social factor, contact factor, and multicultural education and multicultural acceptance, and to suggest measures to improve multicultural acceptance by region. Most of the preceding studies in Korea have proven simple relevance through multicultural acceptance analysis, but this study focuses on local autonomy and suggests the justification for multicultural acceptance education and central government budget allocation. Method: This study used the data from the 2018 General Public Multicultural Acceptance Survey, the most recent data of the General Public Multicultural Acceptance Survey conducted every three years by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family to verify variables affecting multicultural acceptance. This survey selected a total of 4,006 men and 1,970 women as a probability sample (multistage stratified sample by region, gender, and age) based on the 2016 Population and Housing Census(Statistics Office). The variables in this study were the dependent variables such as multicultural acceptance score(subordinate variable), demographic factor, contact factor, and multicultural education(independent variable), and regression analysis was conducted using SPSS 21.0, a statistical program. Results: As a result of the statistical analysis of this study, it was found that in the case of demographic factors, men, younger age, and higher education had a positive effect on multicultural acceptance. Looking at the contact factors, as direct contact, multicultural events, festivals, and strong relationships with foreigners could increase multicultural acceptance. In the case of indirect contact, multicultural acceptance could be increased when exposed to positive mass media content. In the case of the number of multicultural education sessions, the more education received, the more positive the acceptance was. On the other hand, it was found that household income, occupation and foreign contact, which were factors that had a significant influence in previous studies, did not have a significant effect in this study. Conclusion: This study, which identified the factors affecting multicultural acceptance by using statistical analysis, believes that it has a value to contribute to preparing measures to improve multicultural acceptance suitable for local governments. In the case of local governments, multicultural education can be conducted by selecting groups by gender, age and educational background. In addition, festivals and events with foreigners can be planned, and positive foreign-related broadcasts can be planned on YouTube videos promoted by local broadcasters or local governments.
