      • Vascular Protective Role of Samul-Tang in HUVECs: Involvement of Nrf2/HO-1 and NO

        <P>Samul-Tang (Si-Wu-Tang, SMT), composed of four medicinal herbs, is a well-known herbal formula treating hematological disorder or gynecologic disease. However, vascular protective effects of SMT and its molecular mechanisms on the vascular endothelium, known as the central spot of vascular inflammatory process, are not reported. The aim of this study was to investigate vascular protective effects of SMT water extract in human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs). Water extract of SMT was prepared and identified by HPLC-PDA analysis. Expression of cell adhesion molecules (CAMs) and heme oxygenase-1 (HO-1) and translocation of nuclear factor-kappa B (NF-<I>κ</I>B) and nuclear factor-erythroid 2-related factor 2 (Nrf2) were determined by western blot. Nuclear localization of NF-<I>κ</I>B and Nrf2 was visualized by immunofluorescence and DNA binding activity of NF-<I>κ</I>B was measured. ROS production, HL-60 monocyte adhesion, and intracellular nitric oxide (NO) were also measured using a fluorescent indicator. SMT suppressed NF-<I>κ</I>B translocation and activation as well as expression of CAMs, monocyte adhesion, and ROS production induced by TNF-<I>α</I> in HUVECs. SMT treated HUVECs showed upregulation of HO-1 and NO which are responsible for vascular protective action. Our study suggests that SMT, a traditionally used herbal formula, protects the vascular endothelium from inflammation and might be used as a promising vascular protective drug.</P>

        The purpose of this research is to build up the theoretical model which is structural and conceptual for the measurement of the Sustainability of Tourism(ST) in the tourist destination, founded upon the philosophy that environments, natural, cultural and social, should be preserved from the tourism as well as for the tourism. For the designation of the study model are chased and recombined previous related research results, which are roughly divided into four categories; ① Environments→Tourism System→Environments Model, ② Tourism Impacts as the Social Exchanges and Destination Residents' Attitude Model, ③ Tourism pro or anti Circulation Model, ④ Pressure→State→Response Model. As the result of these literature and article reviews is composed the exploratory study model in the context of conceptualization and structuralization as bellows, which can be applied to the practical measurement of the ST in the tourist destination. ◁그림삽입▷(원문을 참조하세요) Finally is proposed the methods and procedures for the empirical application of this study model to the measurement of ST and is discovered the policy implications, after which is discussed study subjects in need of continued research.         洛東江 感潮區間의 潮汐傳播 現象을 1次元 動水力學的 數値 모델을 利用하여 調査하였다. 첫 段階로서 樹立된 潮汐모델은 平均大, 中, 小潮時의 感潮區間의 潮汐傳播를 算定하는데 利用되었으며 또한 洪水時의 水位 算定을 爲하여 利用되었다. 이 硏究의 目的은 洛東江河口의 締切堰工事가 始作되기 前의 潮汐力學을 糾明하는데 있다. The progression of the tide in the lower reaches of the Nakdong River was investigated by the use of a simplified one-dimensional hydrodynamic numerical model. As a first step the developed tidal model was used to compute tidal distribution for average spring, mean and neap conditions and further utilised to investigate the waterlevel response by combined tide and flood discharge effects. The objective of this inital study is to investigate the tidal dynamics of the lower reaches of the Nakdong River under the condition of before-cross-channel barrage condition.

      • 加露林灣의 潮汐모델

        The study descibed in this paper continues a dynamic model investigation of tides in the Yellow Sea, especially in Garolim Bay, the region of great interest as far as a tidal power development scheme is concerned. A further mesh refinement of the numerical model of the west coast of Korea(Choi, 1981) was proceeded to develop a model of Garolim Bay which has a mesh resolution of 1/405°latitude of 1/405°latitude by 1/324°longitude, As a first step the developed model was used to reproduce the M_2 tide in the Bay. The model was further utilized to estimate effect of barrage construction on water movement processes. Some of preliminary results of numerical experiments are presented and discussed.

      • 漢江水系의 動水力學的 數値模型

        A one-dimensional hydordynamic model of the Han River capable of simulating flood propagation is established. The model is designed to provide maximum flexibility in the adaption of channel geometry, the specification of conveyance properties and treatment of boundary conditions. Particulary downstream tidal boundary condition is designed to prescribe the real-time tidal prediction based on 14 tidal constants analyzed from observation of 5 months in 1978. Applications are presented to demonstrate the computational feature and capabilities of the model in the flood simulation of 1925, 1972 and 1984 floods.

      • 光陽灣의 二次元 潮汐 數値模型

        A two-dimensional hydrodynamics-numerical model was established to investigate the hydraulic process in the vicinity of large steel mill cnstructed on the reclaimed platform at the estuary of Sumjin River, Kwang Yang Bay. The developed model was first used to simulate M_2 tide in the estuary. The computed results were presented in the form of tidal ellipses, maximum bottom stress and energy dissipation and discussions were also made for furture development of the model.

      • 古里海域의 潮流分析

        우리나라 東南部 古里海域에서 1978年 9月 4日부터 10月 3日까지 自動流速計에 依해 觀測된 海流記錄이 一貫된 分析體系를 通해 分析되었다. 觀測海流 및 恒流의 時計方向, 反時計方向 回轉스펙트럼을 求하기 爲하여 回轉成分方法이 利用되었다. 潮流의 主要分潮의 調和常數를 求하기 爲한 潮流分析이 遂行되었다. 硏究의 窮極的인 目的은 追後 黃海 및 東支那海의 海流觀測資料를 整然하게 處理하여 陸棚力學硏究에 寄與하는데 있다. A Current meter data recorded from 4 September to 3 October, 1978 at Kori Point, southeastern part of Korea was processed in systematic manner and analyzed with rotary component method to provide clockwise and anti-clockwise rotary spectra. A tidal analysis was performed to estimate harmonic constant of principal components of the tidal current.
