      • 중·고등학생의 스포츠 참가 정도와 스포츠 가치관의 관계

        The purpose of this study is to investigate influences on the view of value in sport based on the degree of participation in sport activities of middle and high school students. In order to construct this study, 335 middle and high school students in Seoul were represented in 1997, using "stratified cluster random sampling method" A questionnaire for this study, transformed from "value division model of Allport, Vernon, and Lindzey (1960)," was verified through pre-test, reliability and validity and designed to answer the questions with self-administrated method. The analysis of this data was done by oneway ANOVA. Based upon the result of the study, the following conclusions appear warranted: 1. The frequency of participation in sport has an influence on the value in sport. That is, the frequency of participation causes the change social value. 2. The length of participation in sport has an influence on the value in sport. That is, the length of participation causes the change of theoretical value, aesthetic value, economic value, political value, religious value. 3. The intensity of participation in sport has an influence on the value in sport. That is, the intensity of participation causes the change of economic value, social value.

      • 21세기를 대비한 스포츠과학의 과제와 전망

        Since the late 1980s the sport sciences have grown both as a body of knowledge and as a source of employment opportunities. During this time, the sport sciences at the university level have seen constant progress, both in research and in professional preparation. There is now a network of academic units in all sorts of institutions, whether private or public. To better prepare for these new career possibilities, today's student must acquire a broad and thorough understanding of the entire field, even though some of the subfields may seem less important and less well understood. The aspiring sport sciences ractitioner must also team that we do not as yet have all the answers or even know all the questions we must ask to obtain as complete an understanding as possible of this complex, multidisciplinary field. And the sport scientists have a responsibility to raise and to seek answers to scientific questions if the field is to advance and survive in the future society. In this paper, we have discussed 1) the important role that the scientific method plays in furthering the knowledge base in the sport sciences, 2) several subfields of the sport sciences in terms of current research activities, It should be clear by now that scientific research is an essential component of the sport sciences. Finally, in this paper, we have considered the immediate future for the research component of the field of study and have addressed the fundamental questions that have needed to be answered in any attempt to forecast evolution in the field over the next twenty-first century.

      • 발열반응에서 발생되는 열을 이용하는 자발적인 중합반응

        단량체로부터 고분자 물질이 생성되는 과정은 크게 두가지가 있다. 하나는 단계적으로 분자의 크기가 증가되는 단계 중합반응이며, 다른 하나는 연쇄적인 반응에 의해 고분자가 형성되는 사슬 중합 반응이다. 이 두 중합반응은 그 특성이 반응속도론적으로 다를 뿐 아니라 열역학적으로도 크게 다르다. 사슬 중합반응에서는 단계 중합반응과 비교하여 고분자의 크기가 비교적 빠른 속도로 증가하며 단계 중합반응과 달리 대부분의 반응에서 많은 열을 발생한다. 사슬 중합반응이 가지는 이러한 발열특성은 기체의 연소과정과 유사하므로 연소과정에서 불꽃이 만들어지는것과 유사한 현상이 만들어질 수 있다. 연소과정에서의 불꽃은 기체상태에서 반응이 계속 일어나고 있는 반응영역을 만든다. 이와 유사한 현상이 발열반응에서도 일어날 수 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 사슬 중합반응을 할 수 있는 아크릴 단량체를 개시제와 혼합하여 실린더 형태의 반응용기에 넣은 후 개시를 위해 짧은 시간 가열할 때 진행하는 반응전선이 만들어지면서 스스로 고분자 중합이 이뤄지는지 실험하였다. 사용하는 단량체의 종류와 그리고 반응조건에 따라 반응전선의 진행과 그 결과 얻어지는 생성 고분자의 재질이 크게 변하였지만 다이아크릴레이트와 같이 다중기 아크릴 단량체를 사용한 실험에서는 매우 안정적인 중합실험을 수행할 수 있었다. There are two different processes that converts a monomer to a polymer compound. One is chain polymertization process and the other is condensation polymertization process. The characters of the two processes are much different both in thermodynamics and reaction kinetics, respectively. Most chain processes accompanies exothermic and kinetically repid reactions. These characters are similar to combustion process. Thermal autocatalysis in the combustion process can generate propagating fronts. The effect is also able to be occurred exothermic polymertization reactions, such as free-radical polymertization. Such frontal polymertization is a mode of converting monomer to into polymer via a localized reaction zone that propagates, most often through the coupling of thermal diffusion and Arrhenius reaction kinetics. In this study, we have studied on the frontal polymertization of diacrylate monomers.

      • 근로자의 여가 및 직무만족과 생활만족의 관계

        The main purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between job and leisure satisfaction to life satisfaction of Korean workers. To carry out this purpose, the following problems were analyzed: 1) the differences of leisure satisfaction, job satisfaction, and life satisfaction between male and female workers; 2) the contribution of job and leisure satisfaction to life satisfaction; 3) the difference of contribution to life satisfaction between job and leisure satisfaction. 482 workers(male 137, female 245) as subjects were randomly drawn from 2 industrial companies. Leisure Satisfaction Scale(Beard & Ragheb, 1980), Job Diagnostic Survey(Hackman & Oldman, 1979), and Satisfaction With Life Scale(Diener et al., 1985), which were translated in Korean, were employed to measure the variables such as leisure satisfaction, job satisfaction, and life satisfaction, respectively. To analyze the collected data, oneway-ANOVA, correlation analysis, and regression analysis were used. The major findings obtained from this study were as followings: First, there were significant differences of leisure satisfaction and life satisfaction between male and female workers. Second, Job and leisure satisfaction contributed to life satisfaction significantly. Third, Job satisfaction contributed to life satisfaction more than leisure satisfaction.

      • Increase in forest fires globally and subsequent debris flows: A growing worldwide problem. One example from Oregon, USA

        As the climate warms, the world is experiencing more forest fires. Following forest fires, debris flows occur very commonly when the first major rains hit an area if the vegetation is normally dry. In rain forests, there is a delay in the timing of debris flows. In the late summer of 1991 there was an extensive forest fire in the Columbia Gorge, USA, on the Oregon side of the river that was started naturally by lightning. We learned from this fire that this steep terrain underwent three basic erosion/landslide processes in the next ten years as a result of the fire. After the fire was out in the autumn, the first rains brought abundant surface erosion of burnt soil and vegetation. A lot of this ended in the streams. Second, extensive enhanced rock fall occurred in the burned area. One classic area was next to Multnomah Falls where a Brugg cable fence had to be installed to protect the trail leading to Benson Bridge from rock fall onto hikers. Third, we learned that in a period of 5-10 years after the forest fire, areas of intensive burning of the forest would produce very large debris flows. It takes 5-10 years for the roots of the trees burned to disintegrate. Seven large debris flows in 1996 at Dodson and one large one near there in 2001 are examples of this delayed debris flow generation when a “Pineapple Express” would come into the area. This is a rain forest getting over two meters of precipitation per year. This differs from dry climate forest fires where debris flows are generated with the first major storm after the fire. After the 2017 Gorge fire which also occurred on the Oregon side, but started by two teenagers, we noted the same things. First, there was extensive surface erosion for a week after the first rainfall. Also, all of the roads and trails were closed until checked for rock fall hazards. We now expect debris flows in the next 5-10 years to come down the following drainages that had extreme burning in the headwaters: Tanner Creek, Eagle Creek, Oneota Creek, and Horsetail Creek.
