Effects of reduced exciton diffusion in InGaN/GaN multiple quantum well nanorods.
Jiang, Bin,Zhang, Chunfeng,Wang, Xiaoyong,Xue, Fei,Park, Min Joo,Kwak, Joon Seop,Xiao, Min Optical Society of America 2012 Optics express Vol.20 No.12

We investigate the effects of reduced exciton diffusion on the emission properties in InGaN/GaN multiple-quantum-well nanorods. Time-resolved photoluminescence spectra are recorded and compared in dry-etched InGaN/GaN nanorods and parent multiple quantum wells at various temperatures with carrier density in different regimes. Faster carrier recombination and absence of delayed rise in the emission dynamics are found in nanorods. Many effects, including surface damages and partial relaxation of the strain, may cause the faster recombination in nanorods. Together with these enhanced carrier recombination processes, the reduced exciton diffusion may induce the different temperature-dependent emission dynamics characterized by the delayed rise in time-resolved photoluminescence spectra.

This paper proposes a stochastic gradient algorithm and two modified stochastic gradient algorithms fora nonlinear two-variable difference system. The output and the input of a two-variable parameter system depend ontime and on spatial coordinates. A stochastic gradient algorithm is introduced to estimate the unknown parameters. In order to increase the convergence rate but not to increase the computational effort, two modified stochasticgradient algorithms are also proposed. The simulation results indicate that the proposed methods are effective.

In this paper, an active fault tolerant control (FTC) approach based on transient performance index isproposed for the attitude control systems of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) with actuator fault. The nonlinearattitude control system model for UAV with actuator faults is given, which represents the dynamic characteristicsof UAV. A fault diagnosis component is used for fault detection and estimation. According to the fault estimationinformation obtained during the fault diagnosis, the fault tolerant control scheme is developed by adopting theadaptive dynamic surface control technique, which guarantees the asymptotic output tracking and ultimate uniformboundedness of the closed-loop attitude control systems of UAV in actuator faulty case. Further, a prescribedtransient performance of the FTC attitude control systems is considered which characterizes the convergence rateand maximum overshoot of the attitude tracking error. Finally, simulation results are shown that the attitude controlsystem states remain bounded and the output tracking errors converge to a neighborhood of zero.
"Culture Globalization" and the Competitiveness of Chinese National Culture
Bin Jiang 서울행정학회 2005 서울행정학회 학술대회 발표논문집 Vol.- No.-
The globalization of economy and politics results in the problem of cultural globalization. However, cultural globalization is a false proposition in essence. Even if the situation of globalization of economy and politics becomes reality, culture, being a key symbol of a nation, will surely keep its uniqueness and thus results in the multiple characteristics of cultures in the world. Under these circumstances, every ethnic culture will definitely participate in international competition for its own existence and development. For the Chinese national culture to become stronger and more developed in the multi-cultural communication and resultant collision, the Chinese governments at all levels should take positive and competitive cultural strategies. Meanwhile, every ethnic culture must correctly recognize and develop its own cultural identify.
Does HBV Infection Increase Risk of Endometrial Carcinoma?
Jiang, Xue-Feng,Tang, Qiong-Lan,Zou, Yuan,Xu, Ling,Zeng, Hua,Chi, Cong,Jiang, Jing-Ru,Zhang, Bin-Zhong Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2014 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.15 No.2
Objective: Connections between chronic inflammation and tumor development and progression are now generally accepted. Recent evidence indicates that hepatitis B is associated with several types of cancer, but whether endometrial carcinoma (EC) is included has not been reported. Methods: We analyzed HBV serum marker status in 398 patients with endometrial cancer, comparing them to 788 control women undergoing health examination. Results: The total prevalence of HBsAg tested positive in cancer group was significantly higher than the control group (12.8% vs 6.0%, P=0.001), while positive HBsAb was significantly lower (41.2% vs 68.5%, P=0.001). Hepatitis B carriers in endometrial cancer group were also more frequent than in the control group (9.3% vs 5.5%, P=0.013). Interestingly, in the endometrial cancer group, 147 cases were HBV serum marker negative, which was also higher than in the control group (36.9% vs 15.6%, P=0.001). Conclusion: There may be a correlation between HBV infection and endometrial carcinoma.
Sensor Fault Estimation and Compensation for Microsatellite Attitude Control Systems
Bin Jiang,Zhi-Feng Gao,Peng Shi,Yue-Hua Cheng 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2010 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.8 No.2
In this paper, the problem of sensor fault estimation and compensation for microsatellite attitude dynamics is investigated by using a descriptor system approach. Firstly, a linear model of microsatellite attitude dynamics is given. Based on the proposed linear microsatellite attitude dynamics, an augmented descriptor system is constructed by letting the sensor fault term be an auxiliary state vector. Using linear matrix inequality approach, a state-space observer is designed for the augmented de-scriptor microsatellite attitude dynamics, which can estimate microsatellite attitude dynamics state vector and sensor fault simultaneously. In terms of the estimated sensor fault information, sensor fault compensation is also performed. Finally, a simulation example is given to illustrate the effectiveness and potential of the proposed techniques.

Abstract

The energy transfer (ET) between InGaN/GaN multiple‐quantum‐well (MQW) nanorods (NRs) and semiconductor nanocrystals (NCs) for efficient color conversion is studied. An exceptional contribution of carrier transport confinement to the ET mechanisms is observed in the proximal side‐wall coupling system, which consists of InGaN/GaN NRs and CdSe NCs. Under relatively low or high excitation, the ET rate shows different carrier‐density dependence, resulting from different electron‐hole configurations, i.e., bound excitons and free carriers. In the localized exciton regime, the ET rate decreases when increasing temperature from 20 K to 200 K. However, in the free‐carrier regime, the ET rate varies insignificantly in the same temperature range. The temperature dependence in this NR‐NC coupling system is different from that in the previously studied planar MQW‐NC coupling system. It is suggested that the carrier transport confinement in NRs is a major factor for these divergences. The highly efficient ET with efficiency up to 80% shows a promising potential of using such NR‐NC coupled structures for ET‐pumped, NC‐based, light‐emitting devices.

Bin Jiang,Yajie Ma,Lijun Chen,Binda Huang,Yuying Huang,Li Guan 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2023 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.21 No.10
Flexible job shop scheduling problem is a NP-hard combinatorial optimization problem, which has significant applications in the field of workshop scheduling and intelligent manufacturing. Due to its complexity and significance, lots of attention have been paid to tackle this problem. This paper reviews some of the researches on this problem, by presenting and classifying the different criteria, constraints, and solution approaches. The existing solution methods for the flexible job shop scheduling problem in this literature are classified into exact algorithms, heuristics, and meta-heuristics, which are thoroughly reviewed. Particularly, the paper highlights the flexible job shop scheduling problem in the context of dynamic events and preventive maintenance. These dynamic events, such as machine breakdowns and unexpected changes in job requirements, present additional challenges to the scheduling problem. Furthermore, this paper analyzes the development trends in the manufacturing industry and summarizes detailed future research opportunities for the flexible job shop scheduling problem.
Endothelial Aquaporin-1 (AQP1) Expression Is Regulated by Transcription Factor Mef2c
Jiang, Yong,Liu, He,Liu, Wen-jing,Tong, Hai-bin,Chen, Chang-jun,Lin, Fu-gui,Zhuo, Yan-hang,Qian, Xiao-zhen,Wang, Zeng-bin,Wang, Yu,Zhang, Peng,Jia, Hong-liang Korean Society for Molecular and Cellular Biology 2016 Molecules and cells Vol.39 No.4
Aquaporin 1 (AQP1) is expressed in most microvasculature endothelial cells and forms water channels that play major roles in a variety of physiologic processes. This study aimed to delineate the transcriptional regulation of AQP1 by Mef2c in endothelial cells. Mef2c cooperated with Sp1 to activate human AQP1 transcription by binding to its proximal promoter in human umbilical cord vein endothelial cells (HUVEC). Over-expression of Mef2c, Sp1, or Mef2c/Sp1 increased HUVEC migration and tube-forming ability, which can be abolished AQP1 knockdown. These data indicate that AQP1 is a direct target of Mef2c in regulating angiogenesis and vasculogenesis of endothelial cells.
Fault Detection for Discrete-time Switched Systems with Interval Time-varying Delays
Bin Jiang,Dongsheng Du,Vincent Cocquempot 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2011 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.9 No.2
This paper investigates the problem of fault detection filter design for discrete-time switched systems with interval time-varying delays. The residual generator is constructed based on a mode-dependent fault detection filter, i.e., the designed fault detection filter is also a switched system as well. By constructing a novel switched Lyapunov functional, a new criterion is obtained for the residual system. Based on this, a sufficient condition for the existence of the above filter is established in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). The designed fault detection filter can guarantee the difference between the generated residual signal and the fault signal as small as possible. An example is provided to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
