An Empirical Study on Automated Software Test to Improve Software Quality: A Case Study of Pakistan

Automated software testing (AST) is still immature in Pakistan software industry. This raises the question of how AST enablers can be used to help software companies improve the quality of their products. This study examines the importance of developers, organization, and technical factors. The purpose of this research is to enhance AST, which has a significant impact on the quality of software products. The study focuses on the software companies in Pakistan. The data from 38 respondents from various positions related software quality was analyzed by using the structural equation model (SEM). The results of the study show that AST enablers can improve quality of software products in Pakistan. Framework for AST can help software development organizations improve software quality, reduce cost and gain market reputation with competent trained resources. Results show that skills and competence were the most influential factors. Furthermore, there is no impact from cross-functional cooperation. The results also show that the impact of AST on software quality is positively significant. The results of the study also highlight all the potential factors that are beneficial in influencing AST for quality improvement of software product in Pakistan.

ObjectivesTo assess the predictive value of the initial uterine artery Doppler indices, the pulsatility index (PI), and resistanceindex (RI) in the prediction of heavy menstrual bleeding before and after copper intrauterine contraceptive device(IUCD) insertion. MethodsThe current prospective clinical study included 100 women who intended to use a copper IUCD (Cu T-380A) and metthe inclusion criteria. Uterine artery Doppler PI and RI indices were calculated before IUCD insertion and at three andsix months after insertion. Based on the presence or absence of menorrhagia, all women were classified into twogroups: non-bleeding (n=52) and extreme menstrual bleeding (n=48). Receiver operating curve analysis was used todetermine the predictive value of uterine artery PI and RI in patients with menorrhagia relevant to IUCD. ResultsThe PI and RI indices displayed a highly significant difference between the IUCD groups at three and six months afterinsertion (P<0.001). Uterine artery PI ≤2.02 (sensitivity of 95.8%, specificity of 100%, and area below the curve [AUC]of 0.97 at P-value<0.001) and RI ≤0.83 (sensitivity of 93.8%, specificity of 100%, and AUC of 0.949 at P-value<0.001)were correlated with significant menstrual bleeding following insertion of IUCD. ConclusionThe presented results confirmed our assumption that the initial studies of uterine artery Doppler can predict heavymenstrualbleeding associated with IUCD and therefore, should be conducted in women pursuing reversible longactingcontraception.

This manuscript illustrates the dynamic response of nanoscale carbon nanotubes (CNTs) embedded in an elastic media under moving load using doublet mechanics theory, which not considered before. CNTs are modelled by Timoshenko beam theory (TBT) and a bottom to up modelling nano-mechanics is simulated by doublet mechanics theory to capture the size effect of CNTs. To explore the influence of the CNTs configurations on the dynamic behaviour, both armchair and zigzag configurations are considered. The governing equations of motion and the associated boundary conditions are obtained using the Hamiltonian principle. The Navier solution methodology is applied to obtain the solutions for both orientations. Free vibration and forced response under moving loads are considered. The accuracy of the developed procedure is verified by comparing the obtained results with available previous algorithms and good agreement is observed. Parametric studies are conducted to demonstrate effects of doublet length scale, CNTs configurations, moving load velocities as well as the elastic media parameters on the dynamic behaviours of CNTs. The developed procedure is supportive in the design and manufacturing of MEMS/NEMS made from CNTs.
Classification of factoid questions intent using grammatical features

In question-answering systems, question classification is a fundamental task. Identifying the accurate question type enhances the retrieval of more accurate answers. Factoid questions are the most challenging type of question to classify in which many approaches have been proposed with the objective of enhancing the classification of this type of question. In this paper, a grammar-based framework is used. The framework makes use of three main features which are, grammatical features, domain specific features and patterns. Using machine learning algorithms for the classification process, experimental results show that our approach has a good level of accuracy.

Background: This study evaluated the outcomes of surgical management of ipsilateral femoral and tibial fractures in adults. Methods: Fifteen patients (13 men, 2 women; mean age, 34.8 years; range, 18 to 65 years) were enrolled in this study. The fractures types were classified according to the classification by Fraser et al. as follows: type I (5), type IIa (3), IIb (4), IIc (3). Femur fractures were treated using locked intramedullary nails, plate-screws, or dynamic condylar screws, and tibia fractures were treated with an external fixator (in open fractures), or plate-screws, and locked intramedullary nailing. The mean follow-up duration was 2.2 years (range, 1.3 to 4 years). Results: The extent of bony union according to the Karlstrom criteria was as follows: excellent, 8; good, 4; acceptable, 2; poor, 1. Conclusions: The associated injuries and type of fracture (open, intra-articular, comminution) are prognostic factors in a floating knee. The best management of the associated injuries for good final outcome involves intramedullary nailing of both the fractures and postoperative rehabilitation.

Objective: This study was conducted to investigate the relationship of semen parameters in samples used for intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) with fertilization and pregnancy rates in infertile couples.Methods: In this prospective study of Infertile couples with male factor infertility that had undergone ICSI, fractions of the same semen samples obtained for microinjection (to ensure the best predictability) were evaluated to determine the semen parameters and sperm DNA fragmentation index (DFI) on the day of oocyte recovery.Results: In total, 120 couples completed the study and were subdivided into fertilized (n=87) and non-fertilized couples (n=33). The fertilized couples were further classified into pregnant (n=48) and non-pregnant (n=39) couples. Compared to non-fertilized and non-pregnant couples, fertilized and pregnant couples showed statistically significantly higher sperm viability and percentage of normal sperm morphology, as well as significantly lower sperm DFI values. A receiver operating characteristic curve analysis of data from the 120 ICSI cycles showed that sperm viability, normal sperm morphology percentages, and sperm DFI were significant prognostic indicators of fertilization at cutoff values of 40%, 7%, and 46%, respectively. A sperm DFI of 46% showed sensitivity and specificity of 95% and 90%, respectively, for predicting fertilization, and no clinical pregnancies occurred in couples with a sperm DFI above 46%.Conclusion: Semen parameters from the ICSI day sample, especially sperm viability, normal morphology, and DFI, had an impact on fertilization and pregnancy outcomes in ICSI cycles.

In this study, skim milk fermented with 14 commercial dairy starters were evaluated for their proteolysis ability, angiotensin I-converting enzyme (ACE)-I, and antioxidant properties. The antioxidant activity was determined using DPPH radical scavenging, chelating of Fe2+ ions, and reducing power assays. The results showed that the coagulation time, pH, and titratable acidity varied among the used starters and appeared to be starter dependent. Lactobacillus helveticus Lh-B02 starter had the highest proteolytic and ACE-I activity. Lactobacillus casei-01, Yo-Fast 1, YC-281, MYE 96, and YOMIX 205 starters had the highest DPPH radical scavenging activity. Chelating of Fe2+ ions of the L. casei- 01 starter was the highest, whereas the O-114 starter was the greatest in reducing power. Regarding the yogurt starters, Yo-Fast 1 starter exhibited h igh values o f proteolytic, ACE-I, and DPPH radical scavenging activity. A positive correlation was observed between the proteolytic and ACE-I or antioxidant activities of all starters.

The Cartan’s second curvature tensor P^i_{jkh} is a positively homogeneous of degree-1 in y^i, where yi represent a directional coordinate for the line element in Finsler space. In this paper, we discuss the decomposition of Cartan’s second curvature tensor P^i_{jkh} in two spaces, a generalized BP-recurrent space and generalized BP-birecurrent space. We obtain different tensors which satisfy the recurrence and birecurrence property under the decomposition. Also, we prove the decomposition for different tensors are non-vanishing. As an illustration of the applicability of the obtained results, we finish this work with some illustrative examples.
