The expansion of literacy through the development of an education system and print boosted social mobility in early modern England. Arden of Faversham (1592), on the surface, is a typical early modern domestic tragedy of a cuckold, Arden, his adulterous wife, Alice, and her lover, Mosby, which ends with the murder of Arden. At the same time, this work reflects how the social change triggered by the spread of literacy and writing culture influenced the patriarchy as well as social hierarchy. My paper foregrounds two roles of “the letter” in Arden of Faversham—the basis of written language and correspondence—and explores how protagonists utilize, manipulate, or even corporealize the letter. Arden, as an example of the established gentry, depends upon the authority of a written document to claim his ownership of property and simultaneously strives to hide the textual representation of his cuckoldry despite his obvious failure as part of the patriarchy. Alice, as an embodiment of dangerous female desire, manipulates the letter in a destructive and deceptive way, which is represented as a threat to patriarchal order as well as established class order.

Small cell lung carcinoma (SCLC) is a cancer that shows aggressive behavior, early spread to distant sites, and frequent association with distinct paraneoplastic syndromes. Spontaneous remission of cancer, particularly of SCLC, is a rare biological event. Cases involving spontaneous regression of SCLC were reported, and were associated with paraneoplastic syndromes of the nervous system. This article reports on a 78-yearold man with SCLC in remission, with neurological symptoms. The patient visited the hospital because of generalized weakness, and imaging studies revealed a mass in the lower lobe of the left lung, pathological evaluation showed SCLC. The patient refused oncologic treatment and was treated only with conservative care. In follow-up study the diameter of the mass had decreased from initial 32 mm, 9 months after admission to 20 mm, 17 months after admission to 13 mm. The patient kept complaining of generalized weakness, dizziness, and paresthesia of limbs. We assumed that, in this case, the spontaneous remission of lung cancer was related to the immunologic response directed against the tumor, which is believed to be an important factor in the pathogenesis of paraneoplastic neurologic syndromes.

The main causes of biliary obstruction are stones and cancers. Fascioliasis is a very rare case which causes biliary obstruction. Fascioliasis is a zoonosis caused by Fasciola hepatica which infects herbivores like sheep and cattle. F. hepatica lives in the biliary system or the liver parenchyma of a host. In Korea, the occurrence of this infection in human is very rare and only few cases have been reported. A 32-year-old male presented with upper abdominal pain and jaundice. His laboratory finding revealed elevated liver transaminases. Abdomen CT scan showed mild left intrahepatic bile duct dilatation. On ERCP, adult F. hepatica worms were found and were thus removed. Concurrently, clonorchiasis was diagnosed by stool exam and serologic enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay test. Clonorchiasis was treated with praziquantel. Herein, we report a case of intrahepatic bile duct dilatation due to F. hepatica infection with concurrent Clonorchis sinensis infestation. (Korean J Gastroenterol 2014,64:298-301)

목적: 본 연구의 목적은 그림 맞추기 활동과 전두엽기능의 관계에 대해 알아보기 위함이다. 카드 뒤집는 활동이 기억력을 담당하는 전두엽에 영향을 미치는지 알아보고자 하였다. 연구방법: 인지에 문제가 없고 연구 참여에 동의를 한 H대학교 재학생 30명을 대상으로 하였다. 대상자를 무작위로 나누어 15명은 실험군, 15명은 대조군으로 선정하였다. 실험군에게는 주 7회, 10분 씩, 아침과 저녁으로 하루에 2번 씩, 2주 동안 카드 뒤집기를 시행했으며, 대조군을 대상으로 사전 검사 후주 7회, 10분 씩, 아침저녁으로 풍선불기를 시행하였다. 연구결과: 실험군, 대조군의 카드 뒤집기 평균시간을 비교하였고, 두 집단의 집단 총체적인 통계량을 보면 실험군은 15명으로 평균은 1.91, (±3.41)이다. 대조군의 명수는 15명으로 평균은 0.27, (±2.98) 이다. 두 집단의 전두엽 관리기능 검사 결과는 평균 차는 1.64000으로 계산 되었고 실험군과 대조군에서 p값은 0.17로 통계적으로 유의한 결과를 보였다. 결론: 그림 맞추기 활동이 기억력을 담당하는 전두엽의 기능을 향상시키는데 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. Objectives : Jigsaw activities and learn about the relationship between frontal lobe function is intended. Look at the population statistics of the two groups A group of 15 people the average 1,9067, the standard deviation of 3.40873, 0.88012 the standard error of the mean. Group B is the average of 15 patients a master of 0.2667, Standard deviation of 2.97073, 0.76704 average error. Management of the two groups frontal test results were statistically significant values (p < .05), and has a significant probability of 0.171, and the average car 1.64000, standard error of the difference was calculated to be 1.16746. This experiment is significant probability p < 0.5 by significant probability value of 0.171 results were significant. Conclusion : Jigsaw activity of the frontal lobe that is responsible for the memory effect that has a certain extent was different.
