The purpose of this study is to simulate and evaluate the evacuation time of un-trained passengers on boards with various visibility conditions at the mock fire. Simulation results show that at least 54 seconds is needed for safe evacuation of standard fire condition. As the results of measurements, to save more lives at the conditions of low visibility conditions and obstacles, which make passengers at a state of confusion, new mechanical systems and inducing lights for ships must be reconsidered immediately.

The objective of this study was to propose the best methodology for estimating soil organic carbon stocks during environmental assessment for development projects. We compared three methodologies which were developed by Korea Environment Corporation(2010), Korea Forest Research Institute (2006), and Jin-Hyun Jung (1998). We found that the methodology developed by Jin-Hyun Jung (1998) shows the worst performance and the methodology of Korea Forest Research Institute (2006) does not reflect a variety of soil types and land use characteristics shown in development project plans. Therefore, we propose that the methodology developed by Korea Environment Corporation (2010) is the most reasonable one because it is internationally accepted and used for local governments to make the inventory of greenhouse gases as well as to set up its reduction strategy.

전신성 홍반성 루프스를 동반한 임산부의 질병활성 지수로 이용되는 C3, C4, 항dsDNA항체, autoimmune target test와 임신 합병증들과의 상관관계

목적: 루푸스가 합병된 임산부에서 임신 결과와 양상, 또한 임신 중 루푸스의 활성도를 알 수 있는 C3/C4보체, 항dsDNA, autoimmune target test (AITT) 수치를 비교 분석하여 루푸스 산모와 신생아의 예후와의 상관관계를 알아보았다. 연구방법: 2001년 1월부터 2008년 12월까지 한양대학교 의료원 산부인과와 류마티스 병원에서 임신을 경험한 환자를 대상으로 임신 경과와 루푸스 병력 기록이 추적 가능한 73명의 93예를 대상으로 후향적으로 조사하였다. 임신의 임상 경과와 결과, 산과적 합병증, 임신중 루푸스의 경과, 루푸스에 의한 산모 질환, 임신 전후 복용한 약물, 신생아의 예후에 대해 조사하고, 혈액학적, 면역학적 검사를 하였다. 통계분석은 SPSS ver. 14.0을 사용하여 chi-square검정과 피어슨 상관 계수를 사용하여 분석하였다. 결과: 보체 C3 수치와 관련된 항목을 보면 산모의 백혈구 감소, 혈청 C-reactive protein (CRP) 증가, 혈뇨, 고혈압, 만삭 전 조기 양막파열 등과 연관성을 보였고, 보체 C4 수치는 산모의 단백뇨, 혈뇨, 혈액학적 질환, 신생아 중환자실 입원과 연관성을 보였다. 항dsDNA는 산모의 혈청 CRP 증가, 양수과소증, 신생아 anti-Sj?gren``s syndrome B (La) antibody와 연관성을 보였고, AITT는 높은 erythrocyte sedimentation rate 수치, 1분 및 5분 아프가 점수와 연관성을 보였다. 결론: 루푸스 산모의 산전관리에서 임상 증상과 혈액학적 면역학적 검사를 관찰함으로써 조기분만, 유산, 사산을 줄이고, 신생아에서 나타날 수 있는 합병증을 줄여나가야 한다. 기존의 C3/C4보체, 항dsDNA 검사에 AITT를 추가함으로써 루푸스 산모의 산전관리에 도움을 받을 수 있을 것으로 생각된다. Objective: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the correlation between complement (C3 and C4) levels, anti-dsDNA titers, autoimmune target test (AITT), and pregnancy complications. Methods: Ninety-three pregnancies with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) were analyzed retrospectively. We evaluated the course of the pregnancy and outcome, pregnancy complications, progression of SLE, maternal complications of SLE, drugs taken before and after pregnancy, neonatal outcomes, and C3/C4 levels, anti-dsDNA titers, and AITT results. SPSS ver. 14.0 was used for statistical analysis. The average and standard deviation are shown. Chi-square test and Pearson correlation test were used for statistical analysis. The significance level was set at 0.05. Results: The C3 level was associated with maternal leukopenia, elevated serum C-reactive protein (CRP) elevation, hematuria, hypertension, and preterm premature rupture of membranes. The C4 level was associated with maternal proteinuria, hematuria, hematologic disease, and admission to the neonatal intensive care unit. The anti-dsDNA titer was associated with elevated maternal serum CRP, oligohydramnios, and neonatal anti-Sj?gren``s syndrome B (La) antibody. The AITT result was related to elevated erythrocyte sedimentation rate, and 1 and 5 minute Apgar scores. Conclusion: Our result show that adding the AITT to conventional C3/C4 and anti-dsDNA testing in gravidas with SLE might help antenatal care.

연료전지 발전 시스템은 비선형성을 내포한 다수의 제어 루로들로 구성된 매우 복잡한 형태의 시스템이다. 연료전지 발전 시스템의 제어를 위하여 연료전지의 스텍 모델이 개발되고 있으며 연료전지 발전 시스템의 간략화된 프로세스 흐름도도 제시되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 모델을 사용하여 연료전지 발전 시스템을 지능적으로 제어할 수 있는 I-SRG(Intelligent Setpoint Reference Governor)를 개발한다. I-SRG는 시스템의 제약조건과 성능목표에 대한 최적의 운전 설정치를 산출하고 각 제어 루프의 앞먹임 제어입력을 생성한다. I-SRG는 PSO(Particle Swarm Optimization) 알고리즘을 최적화 기법에 사용하고 신경회로망으로 구현되어진다. MCFC 발전 시스템의 전력 프로파일에 대한 추종 제어의 모의실험을 수행하여 제안된 I-SRG의 유용성을 보인다. A fuel cell power plant is a very complex system which has various control loops with some non-linearity. For control of a fuel cell power plant, dynamic models of fuel cell stacks have been developed and simplified process flow diagrams of a fuel cell power plant has been presented. Using such a model of a Molten Carbonate Fuel Cell (MCFC) power plant, this paper deals with development of an intelligent setpoint reference governor (I-SRG) to find the optimal setpoints and feed forward control inputs for the plant power demand. The I-SRG is implemented with neural network by using Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm based on system constraints and performance objectives. The feasibility of the I-SRG is shown through simulation of an MCFC power plant for tracking control of its power demand.

Adipose tissue derived stem cells(ASCs) are multipotent cells capable of forming bone, cartilage, and other connective tissues. In this study we evaluated the effect of stem cells derived from adipose tissue on the muscle regeneration in partial removed skeletal muscle in rats. Male sprague-dawley rats were randomly divided into three groups: control, PBS-injected and ASCs-injected group. Stem cells were isolated from rat abdominal adipose tissue by collagenase digestion and ASCs labeled with superparamagnetic iron oxide(Feridex) were used. Muscle injury was subjected to rat bypartial removal of quadriceps femoris muscle. The labeled cells were directly injected into the muscle injured area after muscle injury an hour. After 2 weeks, histological analysis was performed using H&E staining and prussian blue staining. The muscle regeneration markers were examined by immunohistochemistry and RT-PCR. ASCs labeled with Feridex were detected by prussian blue staining in injured muscle area. Microscopical muscle regeneration and neovascularization were more increased in ASCs-injected group compared to PBS-injected group. The expression level of Pax7, MyoD and myogenin were more significantly increased in ASCs-injected group compared with the PBS-injected group. This preliminary observation shows that ASCs may be directly involved in the regeneration process of injured skeletal muscle; therefore the possibility of using ASCs as a stem cell therapy for muscle regeneration need to be further investigated for the purpose of clinical trials.
