Hardness is most likely to mean the resistance to indentation, and to the design engineer it often means an easily measured and specified quantity which indicates something about the strength and heat treatment of the metal. Especially, Vickers hardness is one of the most widely useful methods to obtain mechanical properties of a product. Firstly, in this study, a method to estimate hardness will be presented using FE simulations of Vickers hardness tests from the viewpoint that hardness indicates resistance to plastic deformation. To verify our method, the results of the simulations for several materials such as commercial aluminum alloy and steel will be compared with those of Vickers hardness tests for the materials. Most conventional cutting-tools are made from high-speed steel (HSS). Efficiency of machining of metals and non-metals and economy of whole processing lines is often controlled by selection of suitable materials among numerous groups of tool materials. In those cases where good machinability in annealed condition is required, high speed steel cutting tools retain their dominating position. High speed steels are used for multiple edge tools and other complex heavy duty tools. Although the volume of their production is relatively low, their importance in controlling output, efficiency, and reliability in many branches of industry cannot be underestimated. Secondly in this study, prediction of the relation between effective strain and hardness for high speed steel was performed.

Process of production of rapid prototype increase to material in stratification or does solidification and fill section of each layer as is perfect as increases volume. however,time and expense bring exhausted shortcoming. Because this adds volume of unnecessary section. Wish to solve this defect using hollow model. The inside is empty the model has the wall thickness which is uniform and the inside is empty to create the model. This paper wished to grasp that do empty solid model's properties of matter inside and grasp applicable thickness to actuality product.
