A novel algorithm for lip recognition is proposed in this paper.Lip model is built based on the concatenated gray level distribution model, and the recognition problem is simplified as the minimization problem of matching object function. The Down Hill Simples Algorithm is used for the minimization with the proposed novel method for setting initial condition, which can refrain iteration from converging to local minima. The proposed algorithm shows extracting lip shape from the test image where Active Shape Model fails.

An additive noise reduction algorithm for a mass spectrum analyzer is proposed. From the measured ion signal, we first used an estimated threshold from the mode of the measured signal to eliminate background noises with the white Gaussian characteristics. Also, a signal block corresponding to each mass index is constructed to perform a second order curve fitting and a linear approximation to signal block. In this process, the effective signal block composed of only the ion signal can be reconstructed by removing the impulsive noises and the sample signals which are insufficient to be viewed as normal ion signals. By performing curve fitting on the effective signal block, the noise-free mass spectrum can be obtained. To evaluate the performance of the proposed method, a simulation was performed using the signals acquired from the development equipment. Simulation results show the validity of the threshold setting from the mode and the superiority of the proposed curve fitting and linear approximation based noise canceling algorithm.
드론 촬영 기반 사진 스캐닝 기술을 활용한 3D 모델링데이터 생성방법에 관한 연구

3D 모델링은 건축, 기계, 제품 및 영화영상의 다양한 콘텐츠 제작 등에 폭넓게 활용되고 있으며 첨단 제작기술들이 적용되고 있다. 모델링은 시간이 많이 소요되는 작업으로 이러한 단점을 보완하기 위해서 최근 3D스캐닝 기술을 적용하여 제작기간을 단축시키려는 시도가 활발하다. 소형 오브젝트에 대한 3D스캐닝은 레이저나 광학을 이용하여 직접 데이터를 얻지만 대형의 건물이나 조형물은 고가의 장비가 필요하므로 직접적이 데이터 취득이 힘들다. 본 연구에서는 포토메트리를 이용하여 대형 오브젝트에 대한 3차원 모델링 데이터를 획득한다. 영상 데이터를 획득하기위해 드론을 이용하였으며 조형물과 드론의 일정한 간격유지와 비행 동선에 대한 측정방법을 제시하였다. 또한 획득된 3차원 점군 데이터를 애니메이션에 활용할 수 있는 제작환경과 렌더링 된 애니메이션 결과물을 제시하여 다양한 환경에서 제작할 수 있는 방안을 모색하였다.

Various placards are attached to the surface of a container depending on the risk of the cargo loaded. Containers with dangerous goods should be managed separately from ordinary containers. Therefore, as part of the port automation system, there is a demand for automatic recognition of placards. In this paper, proposed is a system that automatically extracts the placard area based on the shape features of the placard and recognizes the contents in it. Various distortions can be caused by the surface curvature of the container, therefore, attention should be paid to the area extraction and recognition process. The proposed system can automatically extract the region of interest and recognize the placard using the feature that the placard is diamond shaped and the class number is written just above the lower vertex. When the proposed system is applied to real images, the placard can be recognized without error, and the used techniques can be applied to various image analysis systems.
NMEA2000 프로토콜을 적용한 선박 모니터링 시스템 설계 및 구현

Recently, due to the variety and complexity of marine electronics communication devices, much research has been done to adopt the novel communication protocol. Among them, NMEA2000 protocol, is adopted as standardized protocol to the next generation ship. In this paper, we design and implement the conversion algorithm for sensor protocol based on NMEA2000, and analog data module which convert data format between NMEA2000, CAN, Ethernet, RS232. The present study was designed to implement user-based data monitoring system by supporting various communication protocols through the development and application of key technologies through NMEA2000.
3D 카메라 기반 스테디캠 효과를 적용한 영상제작에 관한연구

The steadicam effects is widely used in production of the 3D animation for natural camera movement. Conventional method for steadicam effects is using keyframe animation technique, which is annoying and time consuming process. Furthermore it is difficult and unnatural to simulate camera movement in real world. In this paper we propose a novel method for representing steadicam effects on virtual camera of 3D animation. We modeled a camera of real world into Maya production tools, considering gravity, mass and elasticity. The model is implemented with Python language, which is directly applied to Maya platform as a filter module. The proposed method reduces production time and improves production environment. It also makes more natural and realistic footage to maximize visual effects.
매치무빙 기법을 활용한 모션그래픽 영상제작에 관한 연구

Motion graphic is the recently emerged technique which extends the ways of expression in video industry. Currently, it is worldwide trends that the image design gets more attention in the field of movie, advertisement, exhibition, web, mobile, games and new media, etc. With the development of computer's new technologies, VFX methods for the visual content is dynamically changed. Such production methods combine the real scenary and CG(Computer Graphic) to compose realistic scenes, which cannot be pictured in the ways of ordinary filming. This methods overcome the difference between the real and virtual world, maximize the expressive ways in graphics and real space. Match moving is technique of accurate matching between real and virtual camera to provide realistic scene. In this paper we propose the novel technique for motion graphic image production. In this framework we utilize the match moving methods to get the movements of the real camera into 3D layer data.

In case of massive water leakage, it's crucial for field manager to quickly positioning the problematic valve and related ones. However, it's not easy for the system to find the corresponding valve and even if it's found, it can not respond quickly because it can't know the relevant information immediately. In this paper, we implement the system for identifying sluice valve positions using GPS and AR techniques. The proposed system is composed of hand held android device, remote database server and data acquisition device for DB creation. We utilize the android device's sensors including GPS, gyro, accelerometer, magnetic sensor. The system identifies the valve with matching between the position data from the remote database server, and current GPS locations of device. We use AR techniques to overlay the graphics pattern of valve positions and some additional informations on captured real scene. With this system, it will be fast and accurate for maintenance of sluice valve of municipal water system.
