        대북 평화·비핵화 메시지의 담화분석: 설득을 위한 언어 및 담화 전략과 효과에서의 한계

        The present study explores the strategies for, and limitations of, persuasion in messages concerning the peace process and denuclearization sent by Jae-In Moon, the President of the Republic of Korea, to North Korea. After analyzing the linguistic and discoursal strategies he used to achieve his goals in terms of the three aspects of ‘field’,‘mode’ and ‘tenor’ (Halliday & Hasan 1985), this article examines possible reasons for the partial successes achieved during the course of some peace process and the ultimate failure of attempts to realize North Korean denuclearization. Detailed analysis of nineteen speeches and remarks made by the President reveals that at least six macro-acts (including ‘presenting visions’ and ‘guaranteeing North Korea’s security’), seven cognitive and pragmatic strategies (such as ‘recontextualization’, ‘topos’ and ‘rhetoric of temporality’) and three interpersonal strategies (‘effective stance’, ‘politeness’ and ‘emphasizing ethnic identity’) can be identified respectively in each of the three aspects. The first half of the discussion reexamines these linguistic and discoursal strategies using Aristotle’s theory of rhetoric and suggests how the four elements of ‘logos’, ‘ethos’, ‘pathos’, and ‘timing’ might have contributed to the brevity of ‘honeymoon’ period between the two Koreas. The second half of the discussion applies Mitchell (2000)’s theory of analysis of conflicts and suggests that his notion of ‘respondibility’, among others, explains the ultimate failure of the peace process as a whole. This article concludes with two insights derived from an analysis of the nature of peace discourse and a social-psychological approach to persuasion.

        정치담화에서의 관여(involvement) 전략

        This article investigates how the President Mu-Hyun Rho employes linguistic involvement strategies in his political speeches to elicit the support and engagement of the people. After critically reviewing some definitions of involvement suggested in the literature, the analysis redefines the term from ethnographic perspective, and treats Rho's involvement strategies at both macro and micro levels. At the macro level, it is shown that new genres such as "letters to the people" initially appeared only in Rho's speeches. At the micro level, it is shown that discourse strategies in his speeches, including "sharing of language", "dialogue and empathy/identification with the people", "shifts of identity", and "personalization of discourse", differ significantly from those of his predecessors in kind and frequency. This paper concludes with some theoretical implications related to the definition of involvement, the link between involvement and ideology, and discourse and social change (especially, democratization and conversationalization of discourse).

        측방유동지반상 말뚝기초교대의 측방이동 평가

        국내현장에서 수집된 43개 교대의 측방이동 실측자료에 대한 분석을 통해 말뚝기초교대의 측방이동을 간편하게 평가할 수 있는 방안을 제안한다. 실측된 교대측방변위를 고려하여 연약지반의 비배수전단강도와 교대배면에 작용하는 상재압의 관계를 분석한 결과, 교대 배변의 뒤채움으로 인한 상재압이 연약지반 비배수전단강도의 3배보다 작은 경우에는 실측된 교대변위가 국내 교대의 측방이동 허용치인 15㎜ 이내인 것으로 나타나, 교대 유지관리에 문제가 발생하지 않았다. 그러나 상재압이 연약지반 비배수전단강도의 3배~8.3배인 경우는, 교대변위가 15㎜~50㎜ 발생하는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 이 경우 교대의 측방이동을 고려한 설계를 수행함으로써, 교대 측방변위를 허용치인 15㎜ 이하로 감소시켜야 한다. 특히 상재압이 비배수전단강도의 8.3배 이상이면, 50㎜ 이상의 심각한 교대변위가 발생할 수 있기 때문에, 적절한 교대 측방이동 대책공법이 강구되어야 하는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 상재압과 비배수전단강도의 상관관계를 나타내는 사면지반의 안정수를 이용하면 측방유동지반상 말뚝기초교대의 측방이동 가능성을 간편하게 평가할 수 있음을 의미한다. 반면에 측방유동지수와 측방이동판정지수는 교대 실측변위 및 사면안전율과 상관성이 높지 않았다. 이는 경험지수만으로 교대의 측방이동 여부를 판정하는 것은 합리적이지 않음을 의미한다. 따라서 교대를 포함한 사면의 안정수가 3보다 크면, 교대기초말뚝의 사면안정 기여효과와 교대의 허용측방변위를 반영한 사면안정해석을 통해 교대 측방이동 여부를 면밀히 검토해야 한다. Field monitoring data for forty three piled bridge-abutments were investigated to suggest an evaluation method on lateral movement of the abutments. As the results of the investigation, if the surcharge pressure by backfills behind the piled-bridge abutment is less than 3 times the undrained shear strength of the soft grounds, the lateral displacement of the abutments was within 15 ㎜. Therefore, the abutment can be maintained without any problems because the abutment will move laterally within an allowable movement range. However, if the surcharge pressure is between 3 times and 8.3 times the undrained shear strength of the soft grounds, the abutments moved laterally between 15 ㎜ and 50 ㎜. In this case, the lateral displacement of the abutment should be considered on the design because the displacement may be considerable. Moreover, if the surcharge pressure behind the abutments is greater than 8.3 times the undrained shear strength of the soft grounds, the lateral displacement of the abutments could be more than 50 ㎜. In this case, a reasonable countermeasure should be applied to prevent excessive lateral displacement of the abutment, or the design of the abutment should be changed because the lateral movement is severe enough to severely damage the abutment. In tum, the stability number, which is the ratio of the surcharge pressure to the undrained shear strength can be used as the simplified empirical index to evaluate the possibility of lateral movement of abutments. However, both the lateral flow index and the lateral movement judgement index do not always show good relationship with not only the lateral displacement of the abutments but also the safety factor of slopes. Therefore, It is not always suitable to predict the lateral movement of abutments by using only conventional empirical indexes. These empirical indexes should be used together with the safety factor of slope with consideration of the allowable limit of the lateral displacement of the abutment.

        An experimental study was carried out on the drying characteristics of organic sludge particles in rotary dryer. The effect of various operating parameter such as feed rate, particle size, hot air<br/> temperature, and velocity on the drying rate was analysed. The results showed that the evaporation velocity was increased by 22~27% when the hot air temperature changed from 160℃ to 270℃ in the constant drying rate period. In particular, the empirical formula was obtained, which was the volumetric heat transfer coefficient from the relationship between panicles and hot air stream.

        트렌치굴착으로 인한 지반변형에 미치는 상재하중의 영향

        A series of model tests were performed to investigate the deformation of ground, in which surcharges were loaded on the ground surface during trench excavation for diaphragm walls. An apparatus was manufactured to observe the failure pattern of a slurry-supported trench in sandy ground. Ground deformations including settlement and lateral displacement of the surrounding ground adjacent to the trench were carefully monitored during excavation. Experimental observations indicated that the settlement of ground were affected greatly by surcharge loads. Especially, the considerable settlement occurred when the surcharge was loaded within the Rankine active zone. The higher settlement was obtained when the surcharge was closer to the trench. However, the influence area of settlement increased while the surcharge was loaded far from the trench. Also, the lateral wall face of excavated trench was bulged with lowering the slurry level and then the upper part of trench failed finally. Considering the surcharges, the empirical settlement envelope was discussed to predict the deformation behavior of the adjacent ground due to the trench excavation reasonably. 지중연속벽 시공을 위한 트렌치 굴착시 굴착면에 인접한 구조물의 하중이 굴착배면지반 변형거동에 미치는 영향을 규명하고 안전한 이격거리를 조사하기 위하여 일련의 모형실험을 실시하였다. 트렌치 굴착 모형실험장치를 제작하였으며, 모형실험 시 계측시스템을 이용하여 트렌치 굴착시 굴착배면지반의 침하를 측정하였다. 모형실험결과 상재하중은 굴착배면지반에 매우 큰 영향을 끼치는 것으로 나타났다. 특히, Rankine의 주동영역내에 상재하중이 재하된 경우 트렌치 굴착시 굴착배면지반에서의 침하량은 급격하게 증가하며, 상재하중의 이격거리가 굴착면으로부터 가까울수록 침하량은 크게 발생되었다. 또한 상재하중의 이격거리가 굴착면으로부터 멀어질수록 침하의 영향범위는 확대되었다. 한편, 트렌치 굴착완료후 굴착면내 안정액의 수위를 저하시킬 경우 굴칙측벽에서는 벌징이 발생하여, 종국에는 굴착면 상부에서 지반붕괴가 발생되었다. 상재하중의 영향을 고려하여 트렌치굴착에 따른 주변지반의 거동을 합리적으로 평가하기 위한 침하기준선을 논의한다.
