Effect of Mung Bean Ethanol Extract on Pro-inflammtory Cytokines in LPS Stimulated Macrophages

The anti-inflammatory effect of mung bean ethanol extract on lipopolysaccharide (LPS) stimulated macrophages (J774) was evaluated. The mung bean extract was separated into 5 fractions by normal phase silica gel column chromatography and the mRNA expressions of pro-inflammatory cytokines were examined after incubation with each fraction in LPS stimulated macrophages. All pro-inflammatory cytokines including interleukin (IL)-1β,IL-6, IL-12β, tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α, and inducible NO synthase (iNOS) were remarkably decreased in the cells treated with 3.7 mg/mL of F3 fraction. The active F3fraction did not show any cytotoxcity according to propidium iodide staining and no inhibitory effects on J774cell proliferation were observed by MTT assay. The active fraction contained gallic acid, vitexin, and isovitexin as major components.

In this paper, we propose a new idea to evaluate the prediction accuracy of user's preference generated by memory-based collaborative filtering algorithm before prediction process in the recommender system. Our analysis results show the possibility of a pre-evaluation before the prediction process of users' preference of item's transaction on the web. Classification functions proposed in this study generate a user's rating pattern under certain conditions. In this research, we test whether classification functions select users who have lower prediction or higher prediction performance under collaborative filtering recommendation approach. The statistical test results will be based on the differences of the prediction accuracy of each user group which are classified by classification functions using the generative probability of specific rating. The characteristics of rating patterns of classified users will also be presented.

This study was conducted to analyze Korean companie's perception in IT investment cost-benefit analysis(CBA), and to see if various user group's perception is different. Literature was reviewed to classify and define variables in IT CBA, and questionnaire was distributed to CEOs, CIOs, IT managers, and general managers in Korean companies. Respondent's priority ranking in IT CBA was shown to be tangible benefit, direct cost/intangible benefit, and indirect cost/risk. Data analysis showed that Korean companie's actual practice in CBA was generally aligned with their perception. User group's(Executives vs. mangers, and IT managers vs. general managers) perception was not shown to be statistically different. Survey result also showed that IT CBA was not well practiced in the companies although respondents perceive the analysis very important. These findings suggest that more education and practical experience is needed for Korean companies to perform IT CBA.
대시메트릭 매핑 기법을 이용한 서울시 건축물별 주거인구밀도의 재현

도시 내 거주하는 인구의 분포는 다양한 연구에 활용될 수 있는 기초자료로서 중요한 의미를 지닌다. 그러나 이와 관련한 데이터는 정보기밀성 등을 이유로 일정한 공간단위로 집계되어 제공된다. 때문에 제공되는 것과 다른 공간단위나, 더 세밀한 공간분석을 요하는 연구와 활용이 제한된다. 이에 본 연구는 인구분포 데이터가 가지는 한계를 극복하여, 행정구역을 기준으로 한 인구데이터 제공단위보다 세밀한 인구분포를 현실적으로 재현하고자 대시매트릭 매핑 기법을 활용하였다. 대시메트릭 매핑은 주 데이터와 연관된 공간적 보조 데이터를 사용하여 주 데이터의 공간적 분포를 세밀하게 나타내는 지도화 방법이다. 본 연구에서는 서울시 집계구별 인구센서스 자료를 주 데이터로, 건축물 대장을 보조 데이터로 사용하였으며, 모든 인구가 주거용 건축물에 거주한다고 가정하여 주거용 건축물 단위에서 인구분포를 재현하였다. 주거용 건축물을 공간적으로 추출하기 위해 바이너리기법이 활용되었으며. 이후 회귀분석 기법을 활용하여 건물 용도와 층수를 고려한 가중치를 부여해 입체적인 거주인구밀도를 재현하는데 성공하였다. 이를 통해 전체 토지 및 용도구역을 기반으로 한 기존의 방법론보다 현실적용오차를 줄였다. 또한 주거가능 건축물의 주택유형과 층수가 반영된 3차원적 공간자료를 활용하여 주거용 건축물에 거주하는 인구를 추정하는 모델을 도출하여, 정확도가 높고 세밀화 된 인구분포지도를 제작하였다. 본 연구를 통해 도출된 개별 건물 단위의 인구 데이터는 일정한 공간단위로 집계를 재가공한 것으로 정보기밀성의 문제가 없는 세밀한 단위의 인구분포 정보를 제공한다. 따라서 이후 도시 내 재난재해 발생에 따른 영향 인구 파악과 같은, 지역인구를 활용한 다양한 연구에 활용될 수 있는 중요한 자료로써 의미를 지닌다. The aim of this study is to represent the residential population distribution in Seoul, Korea more precisely through the dasymetric mapping method. Dasymetric mapping can be defined as a mapping method to calculate details from truncated spatial distribution of main statistical data by using ancillary data which is spatial data related to the main data. In this research, there are two types of data used for dasymetric mapping: the population data (2010) based on a output area survey in Seoul as the main data and the building footprint data including register information as ancillary spatial data. Using the binary method, it extracts residential buildings as actual areas where residents do live in. After that, the regression method is used for calculating the weights on population density by considering the building types and their gross floor areas. Finally, it can be reproduced three-dimensional density of residential population and drew a detailed dasymetric map. As a result, this allows to extract a more realistic calculating model of population distribution and draw a more accurate map of population distribution in Seoul. Therefore, this study has an important meaning as a source which can be applied in various researches concerning regional population in the future.
유씨소요산(柳氏逍遙散)과 유씨귀비탕(柳氏歸脾湯)의 항(抗)스트레스 효과(效果)에 관(關)한 임상적(臨床的) 연구(硏究)

The objective of this paper is to verify clinical effects of Lyu's Soyosan(柳氏逍遙散) and Lyu's Kwipithang(柳氏歸脾湯). They were prescribed to the enperimental student group suffering from mental stress and annoyed by psychological instability. From the biochemical examination before and after medication, we measure the amount of hormonal variation in thyroid hormone(TSH, $T_4$) and adrenocortical hormone(ACTH, cortisol) The results are as follows. 1. The average of self-rating anxiety scale(SAS) in test group is $41.00\;{\pm}\;7.84$. This value is statistical significant and higher than one of normal person(age 20-39). The average of a global assesment of recent stress(GARS) scale is $28.62\;{\pm}9.00$. There is statistical correlation coefficient between SAS and GARS (p < 0.001). 2. Both Lyu's Soyosan(柳氏逍遙散) and Lyu.s Kwipithang (柳氏歸脾湯) groups show statistically significant reduction of total cholesterol and triglyceride level in serum lipid after ten day medication. 3. It is observed that Lyu's Soyisan(柳氏逍遙散) and Luy's Kwipithang (柳氏歸脾湯) groups have increasing tendency of TSH. The statistically significant reduction of $T_4$ was found in two groups after ten day medicaton. 4. It is observed that Lyu's Soyosan(柳氏逍遙散) and Lyu's kwipithang (柳氏歸脾湯) group have statistically significant reduction of serum cortisol level after ten day medication, Both groups have statistically significant reduction of plasma ACTH level after twenty day medication. From these results, it is verified that both Lyu's Soyosan(柳氏逍遙散) and Lyu's Kwipithang (柳氏歸脾湯) have anti-stress effects against psychological instability and mental stress. The Lyu's Soyosn(柳氏逍遙散) shows special effectiveness in depression of liver-energy(肝氣鬱結) and the Lyu's Kwipitang (柳氏歸脾湯) is also effective in deficiency heart-blood(心血不足).
