사립체근병증은 운동시 근력약화와 같은 경한 증상에서 부터 중추신경계 질환으로 조기 사망에 이르기까지 돌연변이의 정도에 따라서 다양한 증상를 나타내는 질환이다. 그러므로 질환이 의심되는 경우 반드시 조직검사를 고려하여야 한다. 사립체근병증이 있더라도 다른 증상이 없이 무호흡 증후군이나 저환기 증후군의 형태로 처음 진단되는 경우가 드물지만, 사립체근병증이 진단된 후에는 폐기능 검사를 통해 질환의 진행에 대한 예측이 필요하며, 호흡 부전이 발생할 가능성이 높은 경우 비침습적기계환기를 통해 환자를 치료 할 수 있다. 저자들은 초기 중추성 수면 무호흡 증후군으로 오인되었다가 저환기 증후군으로 진단하고, 원인질환으로 사립체근병증을 진단하였으며, 비침습적 기계환기를 통해 성공적으로 치료하여 추적관찰 중인 1례를 경험하였기에 보고하는 바이다. Mitochondrial myopathy is characterized by variable clinical manifestations from mild limb weakness to fatal respiratory failure and central nervous system sequela. But it is a rare event that sleep disordered breathing become a clue of diagnosis for mitochondrial myopathy. We report a case of a 21 year-old man who was diagnosed as mitochondrial myopathy during the investigation for the possible cause of chronic hypoventilation syndrome. Before being admitted to our hospital, he was suspected as having sleep apnea syndrome in another hospital. We re-evaluated the history, physical examination, laboratoy findings and polysomnography in detail. Severe hypoxemia was noted during REM sleep on nocturnal polysomnography and the diagnosis of mitochondrial myopathy was made by muscle biopsy in rectus abdominis muscle. We treated him with bilevel positive airway pressure therapy during sleep and it could reverse the hypoxemia during REM sleep. He could be discharged with improved condition and is being well with the use of this ventilatory assistance.
Zooshikella sp. JE-34가 생산하는 Prodigiosin계 색소의 분리 및 최적 배양조건

A bacterial strain, JE-34, producing a high concentration of red pigment was isolated from a sediment in East China Sea. It was identified as Zooshikella sp. JE-34 based on the 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis. The red pigment was purified by solvent extraction and HPLC was identified as prodigiosin-like compound. Nutritional and cultural conditions were optimized for the production of prodigiosin-like pigment in the flask level. Optimal culture conditions were at initial medium pH $6.0{\sim}7.0$, $30^{\circ}C$ and 4 days incubation. For carbon and, nitrogen sources were soluble starch and malt extract. 본 연구는 해양유래의 특이색소미생물을 선발하여 미생물의 특성 및 이차대사산물의 생리활성 탐색을 통해 새로운 생물자원개발을 위해 수행되었다. 본 연구에 사용된 prodigiosin 유사 색소를 생산하는 균주 JE-34는 동중국해 퇴적층으로부터 분리되었으며 Zooshikella sp. JE-34으로 명명하였다. Zooshikella sp. JE-34는 적색색소를 다량 생산하였으며 대표적인 prodigiosin 생산균주인 Serratia marcscens의 색소추출액과 분광학적 특성 및 HPLC 분석을 통해 JE-34가 생산하는 색소가 prodigiosin 유사색소로 판단되었다. JE-34 균주의 배지조성에 따른 생육도 및 pigment 생합성의 변화를 알아보기 위해 탄소원, 질소원, 무기염류를 첨가하며 배양한 결과 탄소원으로는 soluble starch, 질 소원으로는 malt extract, 무기염류로는 $Na_2HPO_4$에서 최적의 pigment를 생산하였다. Zooshikella sp. JE-34는 prodigiosin의 생합성에 있어 대표적인 생산자인 Serratia marcscens와 마찬가지로 우수한 pigment 생합성량을 보여 prodigiosin의 생합성의 생물자원으로서 의의가 있다고 사료된다.
적색색소를 생산하는 해양미생물 JE-34 균주의 분류학적 특성 및 항균활성

A red pigment-producing bacterial strain was isolated from sediment sample of the East China Sea. The isolate was identified by analysis based on 16S rDNA sequence and morphological, physiological properties, biochemical characteristics and fatty acid composition. Phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rDNA sequence showed that isolate represent a phyletic lineage within the genus Zooshikella, and this strain was most closely related to Zooshikella ganghwensis KCTC $12044^T$ (AY130994) (99.79%). The strain was Gram-negative, aerobic and required NaCl at 0.5~8.0% for growth. The predominant cellular fatty acids were saturated and monounsaturated straight-chain fatty acids. Consequently, this strain was identified as a member of the genus Zooshikella and designated as Zooshikella sp. JE-34. The pigment showed characteristics similar to prodigiosin, a well-known red pigment previously detected in Serratia marcescens. The antimicrobial activity of Zooshikella sp. JE-34 bacterial pigment was tested against 18 microorganisms, which were fish and human pathogens. The Zooshikella sp. JE-34 red pigment showed high antimicrobial activity against Streptococcus iniae, S. parauberis, S. mutans, Staphylococcus aureus, and Propionibacterium acnes. 동중국해 해양퇴적층에서 다량의 적색색소를 생산하는 해양미생물을 분리하였다. 분리균주의 분류학적 특성의 확인을 위해 형태학적, 생리학적, 생화학적 특성, 세포지방산 분석, 16S rDNA 염기서열을 이용한 분자 계통학적 분석을 통해 분류학적 위치를 탐색하였다. 분자 계통학적 분석 결과 Zooshikella 속에 포함되는 것으로 확인되었고 Zooshikella ganghwensis KCTC $12044^T$ (AY130994)와 99.79%의 가장 높은 유사도를 보였다. 분리균주는 그람음성의 간균으로 호기성 및 NaCl 의존적인 배양특성을 보였다. 세포 지방산 분석결과 type strain과 주요 지방산 조성이 유사하였으며 이러한 특성을 종합하여 Zooshikella sp. JE-34로 동정하였다. JE-34가 생산하는 적색색소는 이미 보고되어 널리 알려진 Serratia marcescens에서 생산되는 적색색소인 prodigiosin의 특성과 유사하였다. 색소물질의 인체병원균 및 어류질병 유발세균에 대한 항균활성을 검토한 결과 18종의 피검균 중 특히 Streptococcus iniae, S. parauberis, S. mutans, Staphylococcus aureus, Propionibacterium acnes에 대한 항균활성이 우수하였다.

PCM(Polymer Cement Mortar) has been widely used as the present repair materials. Such PCM has advantages excellent in aspect of strength, but disadvantages weak in performance on shrinkage and crack. Therefore, recently the admixture technologies of fiber like HPFRCC(High Performance Fiber Reinforced Cementitious Composite) and DFRCC(Ductile Fiber Reinforced Cementitious Composite) are developed in order to complement such disadvantages. Consequently, as a result of performing the experiment of the properties of compression, bending, tension, and attachment in order to evaluate the mechanical performance and shrinkage property for the purpose of performance based on ECC(Engineered Cement Composite), this study has shown that the more satisfactory in the range of performance of ECC, the more excellent performance compared with the existing PCM.
중환자실로 입원한 폐결핵 환자의 임상 양상과 예후 인자

Background: Pulmonary tuberculosis (TB), requiring the intensive care unit (ICU) care, has been a high-mortality condition until now. In the present study, we aimed to investigate clinical features and parameters associated with TB mortality. Methods: From August 2003 to December 2008, patients with microbiologically or histologically confirmed pulmonary TB then admitted to the ICU, were retrospectively enrolled into the study. Upon enrollment, their medical records were reviewed. Results: Forty three patients (30 males, 13 females) were included and their mean age was 63.8 years (range:17~87 years). Twelve patients died, an overall in-hospital mortality of 27.8%. The main reason for the ICU care was dyspnea or hypoxemia requiring mechanical ventilation (n=17). Other diagnoses for ICU care were hemoptysis, monitoring after procedures, neurologic dysfunction, shock, and gastrointestinal bleeding. On univariate analysis, the factors affecting the mortality were malnutrition-related parameters including Low body mass index, hypoalbuminemia, Lymphocytopenia, and hypocholersterolemia, as well as severity-related variables such as high acute physiology and chronic health evaluation (APACHE) score, number of involved Lobes, and high C-reactive protein. In addition, respiratory failure requiring mechanical ventilation and acute respiratory distress syndrome contributed to patient fatality. It was shown on multivariate analysis that respiratory failure and hypoalbuminemia were significantly independent variables associated with the mortality. Conclusion: Acute respiratory failure is the most common reason for the ICU care and also the most important factor in predicting poor outcome. In addition, our data suggest that the parameters associated with malnutrition could be possible factors contributing to mortality.
20세기 초 국어 문법서에 등장한 품사 ‘助用詞(조용사)’에 대한 일고찰

본 논문은 20세기 초에 존재했던 조용사(助用詞)를 중심으로 그와 관련된 품사들을 비교하였다. 조용사는 이완응(1929)과 박승빈(1931, 1935, 1937)에서 볼 수 있는데 동사나 형용사에 접속하는 방법과 하위 분류 체계에서 차이점이 있다. 그러나 이들은 동사나 형용사의 원래 의미에 특별한 의미를 더하는 기능을 가지고 있으며, 시제와 경어법 체계를 보여주는 공통점이 있다. 한편 조용사보다 앞 시기에 존재했던 조동사는 일본 문법의 영향을 받아 시제와 서법을 나타내고 양태적인 의미를 보여주는 품사였다. 특히 박승빈의 조용사는 현재의 국어문법에서 시제와 존경의 선어말어미, 사동과 피동 접사와 일치하는 부분이 많다. 그러나 최현배(1937)에서 이들을 보조어간으로 규정하여 이후에는 조용사를 문법서에 하나의 품사로 기술하는 일이 거의 없게 되었다. 조용사는 짧은 시간 존재하였지만 용언 어간에 결합하는 형식들을 더욱 세밀하게 기술할 수 있게 해 준 품사라는 점에서 큰 의의가 있다. This paper compared the associated word-classes, focusing on ‘Joyongsa’, which existed in the early 20th century. Joyongsa can be seen in Lee Wan-eung(1929) and Park Seung-bin(1931, 1935, and 1937), and there are differences in how to connect verbs or adjectives and in the sub-classification system. However, they have a function that adds a special meaning to the original meaning of a verb or adjective, and have something in common that shows the tense and honorific system. Meanwhile, Jodongsa, which existed earlier than Joyongsa, was influenced by Japanese grammar, indicating the tense and the mood, and showing a modal meaning. In particular, Park Seung-bin s Joyongsa has many parts in the current Korean grammar that match the tenses and honorific pre-ending, causative and passive. However, Choi Hyun-bae(1937) defined them as ‘stem supplements’, and later, Joyongsa was rarely described as a word-class in the grammar book. Although Joyongsa existed for a short time, it is of great significance in that it allows us to describe in more detail the forms that combine between stem and ending of verbs and adjectives of Korean language.
