van der Waals gap-inserted light-emitting p–n heterojunction of ZnO nanorods/graphene/p-GaN film

We report on the electroluminescent (EL) and electrical characteristics of graphene-inserted ZnO nanorods (NRs)/p-GaN heterojunction diode. In a comparative study, ZnO NRs/p-GaN and ZnO NRs/graphene/p-GaN heterojunctions exhibit white and yellow EL emissions, respectively, at reverse bias (rb) voltages. The different EL colors are results of different dichromatic EL peak intensity ratios between 2.25 and 2.8 eV light emissions which are originated from ZnO and p-GaN sides, respectively. The 2.25 eV EL is predominant in both the heterojunctions, because of recombination by numerous electrons tunneled from p-GaN to ZnO across the thin barriers of the staggered broken gap with a large band offset in ZnO/p-GaN and the van der Waals (vdW) gap formed by graphene insertion at ZnO NRs/p-GaN. However, as for the 2.8 eV EL intensity, ZnO NRs/graphene/p- GaN hardly shows the EL emission, whereas ZnO NRs/p-GaN exhibits the substantially strong EL peak. We discuss that the significantly reduced 2.8 eV EL emission of ZnO NRs/graphene/p-GaN is a result of decreased depletion layer thickness at p-GaN side where the recombination events occur for 2.8 eV EL before the reverse bias-driven tunneling because the insertion of graphene (or vdW gap barrier) inhibits the carrier diffusion whose amount determines the depletion thickness when forming the heterojunctions. This study opens a way of suppressing (or enhancing) the specific EL wavelength for the dichromatic EL-emitting heterojunctions simply by inserting atom-thick vdW layer.

<P>Since the discovery that nano-scaled particulates can easily be incorporated into tumors via the enhanced permeability and retention (EPR) effect, such nanostructures have been exploited as therapeutic small molecule delivery systems. However, the convoluted synthetic process of conventional nanostructures has impeded their feasibility and reproducibility in clinical applications. Herein, we report an easily prepared formulation of self-assembled nanostructures for systemic delivery of the anti-cancer drug doxorubicin (DOX). Phenylboronic acid (PBA) was grafted onto the polymeric backbone of poly(maleic anhydride). pPBA-DOX nanocomplexes were prepared by simple mixing, on the basis of the strong interaction between the 1,3-diol of DOX and the PBA moiety on pPBA. Three nanocomplexes (1, 2, 4) were designed on the basis of [PBA]:[DOX] molar ratios of 1:1, 2:1, and 4:1, respectively, to investigate the function of the residual PBA moiety as a targeting ligand. An acid-labile drug release profile was observed, owing to the intrinsic properties of the phenylboronic ester. Moreover, the tumor-targeting ability of the nanocomplexes was demonstrated, both <I>in vitro</I> by confocal microscopy and <I>in vivo</I> by fluorescence imaging, to be driven by an inherent property of the residual PBA. Ligand competition assays with free PBA pre-treatment demonstrated the targeting effect of the residual PBA from the nanocomplexes 2 and 4. Finally, the nanocomplexes 2 and 4, compared with the free DOX, exhibited significantly greater anti-cancer effects <I>in vitro</I> and even <I>in vivo</I>. Our pPBA-DOX nanocomplex enables a new paradigm for self-assembled nanostructures with potential biomedical applications.</P>

In this study, as a study for implementing an automotive effectiveness of anti-microbial, anti-fungal, anti-allergen, anti-viral and for considering the operating mechanism based on the activating principle of the anti-substance by the addition of anti-substance to the interior parts of the vehicle such as head lining and carpets, was looking for ways to take advantage of the part. Selection of health-care parts that can exert the maximum effect in a room interior parts to it, and handle the claim for this various material to identify specific effects through the basic material properties verification, was considered to simultaneously satisfied the verification of health-care performance, the reliability of production molded parts and easiness of manufacturing method. In addition, the optimized evaluation method was appropriately selected to the automotive parts through anti-microbial, anti-fungal, anti-allergen and anti-virus performance review and assessment methods.

스마트폰 시장의 확장과 함께 다양한 애플리케이션이 개발되고 있으며 이는 모바일광고의 형태 및 시장 변화에도 많은 영향을 미치고 있다. 기존의 모바일광고는 문자 기반의 푸쉬형 광고였지만 스마트폰 환경의 모바일광고는 애플리케이션에 덧붙여지는 배너형태 또는 광고 자체를 위하여 개발된 브랜디드앱의 형태로 변화하고 있다. 이에 따라 본 논문에서는 스마트폰 환경에서 모바일광고 태도에 영향을 미치는 요소들에 대하여 광고업계 종사자들과 사용자들의 관점에서 분석하여 비교해 보았다. 분석 결과는 모바일광고 사용자와 광고업계 종사자들 간에 광고 태도에 미치는 영향 요소에 대한 인식의 차이가 확연히 있음을 보여준다. 본 연구는 스마트폰 환경의 광고 제작 시 주로 고려되어야 하는 요인들을 제시하며 광고업계 종사자들이 광고제작 시 사용자의 입장을 충분하게 고려하여야 함을 보여주고 있다. Various applications are developed with the extension of the smart phone market. This affects the change of contents and market for mobile advertisement. Mobile advertisement has been changed from the text type in feature phone environment to banner type which are added on the applications and branded app which are application itself for commercials. This research shows the difference in views between users and professions for the factors which affects the acceptance of mobile advertisement in smart phone environment. The analysis results present two groups have significant differences in the views for the users’ acceptances of mobile advertisement. This research provides the important factors which need to be considers in creating mobile commercials. It also suggests that professions in advertisement field have to consider the aspects of smart phone users when they create advertisements in smart phone environment.
