        태안해역 고려 침몰선 발굴과 출수 목간

        The underwater excavation of Korea has a history of about 40 years since the excavation of shinan shipwreck, which started in 1976. A total of 25 underwater excavations have been made in the meantime, and a variety of artifacts including the sunken ship of the Goryeo dynasty have been excavated and contributed greatly to the development of underwater archaeology in Korea. Especially, in waters of Taean, since 2007, a lot of wooden tablets have been excavated along with the Goryeo dynasty shipwrecks. These wooden tablets allow us to know not only the historical characteristics of the ship but also various information about shipments. Due to the geographical and historical background, the waters of Taean are constantly being investigated and many archaeological achievements are expected in the future. 한국의 수중발굴은 1976년 시작된 신안선 발굴 이후 약 40년의 역사를 갖고 있다. 그동안 총 25차례의 수중발굴이 이루어졌으며, 고려시대 침몰선을 비롯한 다양한 유물이 출수되어 우리나라 수중고고학 발전에 큰 기여를 하였다. 특히, 태안해역에서는 2007년부터 지속적으로 고려시대 침몰선과 함께 다량의 목간들이 출수되었다. 이 목간들로 인해 선박의 역사적 성격뿐만 아니라 선적된 화물들에 대한 다양한 정보를 알 수 있게 되었다. 태안해역은 지리적, 역사적 배경으로 인해 침몰선에 대한 조사가 꾸준히 이루어지고 있으며, 앞으로도 수많은 수중고고학적 성과가 기대된다.

      • 韓國産 박쥐의 日本腦炎바이러스에 對한 中和抗體分布

        Among the theories on the overwintering mechanism of Japanese encephalitis virus (JEV) in the temperate zone which has severe cold winter as in Korea, it has been suggested that bat, hibernating warm blooded animal, can pass with the virus. Accordingly, for investigation of relationship between bat and Japanese encephalitis virus in Korea, 1,578 bats were collected and investigated for 5 years from 1965 to 1969. Results are as follows. 1. The species of bats distributed around Seoul were of three species (V. murinus superans, R. ferrum-equinum and T. tralatitius abramus). The commonest species was V. murinus superans. 2. For 5 years from 1965 to 1969, with the internal organs and blood of 1,578 bats, isolation of the virus in primary chick embryo cell culture had been attempted but in vain. 3. Sera of 519 bats in 1968, 279 in 1969 (total 798 bats) were investigated for neutralizing antibody to Japanese encephalitis virus in primary chick embryo cells. 93 bats (12.5%) were proven to have neutralizing antibody to Japanese encephalitis virus. As above results, it was proven for the first time in Korea that mosquitoes with Japanese encephalitis virus had bitten bats.

        뇌동맥조영상에서 조영제의 혈관외루출에 대하여

        There have been many reports of angiographic extravasation since the first description by Jamieson in 1952. Preoperative differential diagnosis between epidural and subdural post-traumatic blood collections is not always possible on the basis of cerebral angiographic signs alone, but many authors considered. that extravasation of the contrast medium from a ruptured meningeal vessel is commonly considered as a definitive angiographic sign of epidural hematoma. Some authors feel that an extravasation of contrast medium from rupture of the middle meningeal artery does not necessarily indicate an epidural hematoma since it may also be formed rarely in cases of subdural or intracerebral blood collections. The authors report 6 cases of angiographic extravasation in head injury patient, 3 epidural hematoma, 2 subdural hematoma and one intracerebral hematoma.

        Cryptococcus性 腦髓膜炎 1例

        A case of cryptococcal meningitis is reported, which occured in a 25-year old female whose chief compaints ware severe headache, vomiting and double vision lasting one month. Neurological examination on admission (September 7, 1973) showed no significant abnormalities except for the bilateral papilledema and subjective horizontal diplopia. Simple skull and chest films including results of specific diagnostic procedures were grossly intact. Cerebrospinal fluid examination disclosed pleocytosis, increased protein, and decreased sugar and chloride, levels which was the finding compatible with those of tuberculous meningitis etc. The subject was treated under the diagnosis of tuberculous meningitis. Two weeks after the admisson, direct smear of the spinal fluid showed numerous yeast like cells, and cryptococcus neoformans was confirmed by India ink preparation and culture in Sabouraud's glucose agar. Amphotericin B was administered by slow intravenous drip over a span of several hours starting with 0.25㎎/㎏ of body weight and increasing gradually up to 1.25㎎/㎏ of body weight daily. Clinical improvements of the patient's condition along with disappearance of cryptococcus neoformans in CSF examination were obtained by the treatment with Amphoteric in B injection, although a fall in hemoglobin, hypopotassemia, moderate degree of fever and occasional vomiting were observed as side effects during the course of treatment. Cryptococcus is highly fatal infection caused by cryptococcus neoformans which is a special predilections for the central nervous system. Crytococcosis may also involve the lungs, bones and skin, and occurs with increased frequency in patients with leukemia or lymphomas. This infection is most common in male adult, and the protal entry is the respiratory tract.

      • 臨床材料에서 分離한 葡萄球菌의 性狀에 對하여

        The activity of twelve biological characteristics which could serve as a means for the identification of pathogenic staphylococci was studied on 161 strains of staphylococci isolated from pathological sources, such as pus, urine, cervical discharge, blood and sputum, and the following results were obtained. 1. Approximately 90. 06 per cent of all the strains tested showed positivemannitol fermentation. Mannitol fermentation reaction revealed the highest positivity in comparison with the other biological activities. 2. The positive strains of coagulase, phosphatase, fibrinolysin production and deoxyribonuclease reaction showed 75.78, 73.55, 70.59 and 76.28 per cent, respectively. The activity of these three biological characteristics was approximately the same as that of coagulase production. 3. The positive strains which were active in gelatin liquifaction, pigment, protease, lipase, alpha-, beta-, and delta-hemolysin production were respectively less than 50 per cent. 4. The strains originated from pus and sputum were generally the highest positivity in the activity of twelve biological characteristics tested, surveying in relation to pathological sources.
