N/A Some debates has been going on regarding changes in the values of pulmonary function test and arterial blood gas analysis after bronchodilator inhalation. A study was performed to evaluate the changes of the pulmonary function test (VC-FVC, VC, FVC, FEV1, FEV1/ FVC%) and arterial blood gas analysis (pH, Paco2, Pao2 BE, Sao2,, HCO3,) after bronchodilator inhalation in 44 patients with bronchial hypersensitivity. The results were summarized as follows: 1) The negative response group did not show change in the values of both the pulmonary function test and arterial blood gas analysis. 2) The positive response group did not show change in the values of the arterial blood gas analysis after bron-chodilator inhalation, but did show significantly increase in the order of FEV1, VC and FVC1, but not in VC-FVC and FEV1/FVC%. 3) On comparison of the two groups, there were no differences in the values of the pulmonary function test but there were differences in pH before bronchodilator inhalation and in pH and B.E. after bronchodilator inhalation. These findings indicate that there were no significant changes in the parameters of the arterial blood gas analysis in both groups after bronchodilator inhalation but various parameters (FEVVC, FVC) of the pulmonary function test were significantly increased after bronchodilator inhalation in the positive response group.

Vascular lesions of the gastrointestinal tract, previously thought to be rare, have been recognized as a common cause of gastrointestinal bleeding. The diagnostic approach and management of severe gastrointestinal bleeding have changed dramatically during the past decade. The selective angiography and radioisotope scanners have made possible the accurate identification of the site and cause of bleeding. A great deal of confusion and controversy exists concerning the classification. The authors experienced two cases of GI bleeding due to small capillary hemangioma of ileum and carvernous hemangioma of jejunum, and treated successfully by operation.
