The objection of this study is to verify the effect of improvement of critical thinking reaching on the elementary school students as construct and apply the education play program to verify fairy tales. An issue of this study to set up on this study is following as: First, which effect does the education play using fairy tales have about critical thought function improvement? Second, which effect does the education play using fairy tales have on critical thought style improvement? This study had an objection as two classes of children 53 (boys 26, girls 27) in the 6th grade going to K elementary school. The conclusion to get in this study being based on the result above is following as. First, education play using fairy tales is effective to improve elementary school students' critical thought function. Second, education play using fairy tales is effective on improving elementary school students' critical thinking style. 본 연구는 동화를 활용한 교육연극이 초등학생의 비판적 사고에 미치는 효과를 알아보는 것이다. 본 연구의 대상은 초등학생 6학년 총53명으로 비판적 사고 기능 검사, 비판적 사고 성향검사를 사전, 사후 검사로 실시하였다. 공변량 분석 결과에 나타난 본 연구의 주요 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 동화를 활용한 교육연극은 초등학생의 비판적 사고기능 증진에 유의미한 효과를 나타냈다. 동화속의 인물을 자신의 삶에 반영해 보고, 이해해 보는 과정에서 실시한 다양한 활동들은 추론적이고 분석적이며, 논리적인 비판적 사고 기능향상에 효과적이었다. 둘째, 본 프로그램은 비판적 사고 성향 증진에 유의미한 효과를 나타냈으며, 특히 편견 없음과 호기심, 비판적 사고 자신감, 성숙 등을 증진시키는데 유의미한 효과를 보였다.
