EWOD장치에서 미세유체의 동특성을 위한 멀티피직스 시뮬레이션

Electrowetting-on-dielectric(EWOD) of microfluidics is a useful technique to manufacture micro-nano core components. Important factors for droplet drive of EWOD are voltage magnitude, size of electrode, gap between the electrodes, hydrophobic surface, spacer and quantity of droplet. In this study, factors for actual EWOD drive were considered partially in drawing of multiphysics tool. Two fluids as air and water were calculated using the Level set Two-Phase Flow Laminar method in multiphysics tool. At the same time, voltage about each step time is applied using the Conductive Media DC method. We obtained the droplet moving from electrode It to electrode3 and discussed the dynamic changes of droplet by applied voltage in EWOD device and optimal gap between top device and bottom device in fixed factor as electrode size and gap of electrodes.
