The analysis of data about the 6-year-old Korean pine plantation was done in order to decide the suitable plot size for the survey on several stand characters. The plot size of at least 0.04 ha was recommendable for the investigation of height; but the size of 0.08㏊ for D.B.H. and for crown width.

6 년생(年生) 잣나무 조림지(造林地)에 있어서 임분(林分)의 대표치(代表値) 측정(測定)을 위한 적정(適定) 플롯의 크기를 조사분석(調査分析)하였는 바, 수고(樹高)에 대하여는 0.04ha 크기의 플롯이, 흉고직경(胸高直徑)에 대하여는 0.08ha 크기의 플롯이 적합하였다. 이 연구는 한국산 겨우살이 엽의 생태학적 특성을 이해하고자 P-V 곡선법에 의한 계절별 수분특성 연구를 수행하였다. 생장시기에 최대포수시의 삼투포텐셜(Ψ o sat)과 초기원형질분리시의 삼투포텐셜(Ψ o tlp)은 감소한 반면 최대 탄성계수(Emax)와 상대함수율(RWCtlp)은 증가하였다. 11월의 신갈나무와 굴참나무의 겨우살이는 가장 높은 최대팽압 (Ψ P, max)을 보였고, 신갈나무의 압포텐셜(Ψ P)과 수분포텐셜(Ψ L)은 상대함수율의 감소에 따라 급격하게 감소하였다. 11 월의 상대함수율(RWCtlp)은 모두 84% 이상을 보여 삼투조절기능이 다소 좋았으며, 건중당 삼투수(Vo/DW)와 건중당 총수분함량(Vt/DW)은 계절에 따라 변화하였다. 결과적으로 신갈나무의 굴참나무 겨우살이의 Ψ o sat, Ψ o tlp, Emax, Ψ P, max, RWCtlp와 같은 수분특성인자는 엽령의 증가에 따라 내건성이 증가하는 경향을 보였다. This study was conducted to study the seasonal changes of relative water relations parameters by pressure-volume curves of Korean mistletoe (Viscum album var. coloratum) leaves for understanding ecological characteristics. In growing season, the osmotic potentials at full turgor (Ψ o sat) and at incipient plasmolysis (Ψ o tlp) decreased, while increased the maximum bulk elastic modulus of the cell wall (Emax) and relavive water content (RWCtlp). Korean mistletoe in Quercus variabilis and Korean mistletoe in Quercus mongolica in November showed best maximum perssure potential (Ψ P, max). Pressure potential (Ψ P) and water potential (Ψ L) in Korean mistletoe in Quercus variabilis were rapidly decreased with decreasing of relative water content. The values of RWCtlp in November were all above 84% showing that the function of osmoregulation is somewhat better, and symplastic water content (Vo/DW) and maximum water content (Vt/DW) were variable seasonally. Thus, responses to water relations of Korean mistletoe in Quercus variabilis and Korean mistletoe in Quercus mongolica such as Ψ o sat, Ψ o tlp, Emax, Ψ P, max, RWCtlp showed increaing drought tolerance with increasing of leaf aging.
생화학적 마커와 Microsatellite 마커를 이용한 KCR 랫드의 유전모니터링

The cataract mutant rat which showed lens opacity was found in the colony of Sprague-Dawley rat at Korea Research Institute of Chemical Technology (KRICT) in 1996. The mode of inheritance of affected rats was autosomal recessive. These cataractous rats were mated by sister and brother to 27th (F₂₇) generation and named as Korea Cataract Rat (KCR). We performed genetic monitoring of KCR rat using biochemical and microsatellite markers to determine their genetic identified homozygous and distinctive genetic profile. In biochemical monitoring, six rats from each of the F₁₈/F₁₉F₂₀ were tested using 13 biochemical markers. In molecular genetic monitoring, nine rats from the F₂₅ and F₂₆ were tested using 13 microsatellite markers. No differences were found among the genetic profiles of the F₁₈/F₁₉F₂₀ in biochemical monitoring. Also, in the molecular genetic monitoring, we identified that both genetic profiles of F₂₅ and F₂₆ were the same. The genetic profile of KCR rats was unique against the other major rat strains. In addition, the polymorphysm of KCR rat for microsatellite markers was different from the other strains. These results suggest that KCR rat is genetically well qualified as far as in this test and it has been well established as a new inbred strain which has a novel genetic profile and cataract trait.
