        외측상과염의 추나 치료에 대한 체계적 문헌 고찰

        Objectives This study was conducted to analyze the therapeutic effect of Chuna therapy for lateral epicondylitis. Methods Key words such as lateral epicondylitis and Chuna were searched in 10 databases (National Digital Science Library [NDSL], Oriental Medicine Advanced Searching Integrated System [OASIS], Research Information Sharing Service [RISS], Koreanstudies Information Service [KISS], KMBASE, Cochrane Library, PubMed, EMBASE, J-STAGE, China Academic Jurnals [CAJ]), and only suitable randomized controlled trials (RCTs) were selected. Results 8 RCTs were finally selected, and Chuna therapy showed positive results for lateral epicondylitis compared to western medicine, acupuncture, warm-acupuncture and Chinese medicine iontophoresis. Conclusions In this study, we finally reviewed 8 studies about Chuna therpay used for lateral epicondylitis. The studies showed that Chuna therapy is effective in treating lateral epicondylitis. However, because all of selected studies were found in Chinese database, more high-quality clinical trials about Chuna therapy for lateral epicondylitis are needed in Korea.

        한약의 항우울 효과에 대한 국내 실험연구 고찰

        Objectives: The present study aims to review the antidepressant effect of herbal medicines reported in Korean local journals.Methods: We searched in electronic databases (Koreantk, KISS, OASIS, NDSL) for studies, published in Korean national journals, that assessed herbal medicine effect of depression model. The search term was ‘depression’ in the abstract or whole text. Depression model, herbal material, experimental results, mechanisms were extracted.Results: We included 43 articles in which 38 studies were in vitro experiments, and the rest 5 were in vivo experiments. The most common experiment subject model was a rat and the most widely used method to induce depression was Despair behavior test. 21 studies used simple herbal medicines, and 22 studies used complex herbal medication. Glycyrrhizae Radix was the most commonly used herbal material to improve depression model. The most common mechanisms of herbal medicine with anti-depressant effect were inhibition of Monoamine activation mechanism and depression related neuro-hormone secretion.Conclusions: Herbal medicines may be a promising resource for treating depression.

      • 지역사회 복지관을 이용하는 고령자의 특성에 따른 작업 영역 별 시간 사용 분석- 예비 연구 (Pilot Test)

        Objective : The purpose of this study is to investigate how the use of daily time and occupational areas according to the characteristics of the elderly who using local elderly welfare center. Methods : The subjects of this study were 20 elderly people over 65 years old who using local elderly welfare center. The time use of subjects research by occupational questionnaire and Occupational areas based on Occupational Therapy Practice Framework-Ⅲ; OTPF-Ⅲ. The play area was excluded. The collected time were using frequency analysis and descriptive statistics according to subject’s characteristics. Results : Both men and woman had the most resting and sleeping areas (남 36.8%, 여 31.85), In all subject’s ages used more time ADL, IADL, rest & sleep and leisure than social participation, education and work. The subjects with mental history and medical history had spent less time in areas of social participation, education and work. The subjects of spouse dead and alone used a lot of time in most occupational areas. At the cognitive level, At the cognitive level, it was found that the high cognitive subjects spend a lot of time in most of the occupational areas. Conclusion : The results of the study has identified that there are differences between the elderly characteristics and the time use of occupational areas, we found out distribution of subject’s routine and occupational areas. Therefore, If we study the time use of elderly in carious contexts, we should suggest more strategic occupation for the elderly and lead to meaningful intervention. 목적 :본 연구는 노인복지관을 이용하는 고령자의 특성에 따라 생활시간 사용과 작업영역 별 시간 사용이 어떻게 이루어지는가에 대해 알아보고자 하였다. 연구방법 : 연구대상자는 노인복지관을 이용하는 65세 이상의 고령자 20명을 대상으로 하였다. 대상자들의 시간사용은 작업 설문지(OQ)로 조사하였고, 작업 영역은 작업치료 실행 체계(Occupational Therapy Practice Framework-Ⅲ; OTPF-Ⅲ)를 기준으로 하였으며, 놀이 영역은 제외하였다. 일반적 특성에 따라 연구대상자의 작업영역 별 시간 사용의 빈도분석을 하였다. 결과 : 남녀 모두 휴식과 수면 영역이 제일 많은 시간(남 36.8%, 여 31.85)을 갖는 것으로 나타났다. 모든 연령에서 일상생활, 수단적 일상생활, 휴식과 수면, 여가 영역을 사회참여, 교육과 일에서 보다 많은 시간을 사용하였다. 또한 정신적 과거력 및 의학적 과거력이 있는 사람들은 사회적 참여, 교육과 일의 영역에 시간을 거의 사용하지 않고 있었다. 반려자와 사별을 한 대상자와 독거 형태의 대상자가 대부분의 작업 영역에서의 많은 시간을 사용하였다. 인지수준에서는 인지가 높은 대상자가 작업 영역 대부분에서 많은 시간을 보내고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 결론 : 본 연구를 통해 복지관을 이용하는 고령자의 특성 및 인지 특성에 따른 시간 사용을 확인할 수 있었으며, 이를 통해 일과와 작업 영역의 분포를 확인할 수 있었다. 따라서 제한점을 보완하며 다양한 맥락에서 고령자의 시간 사용에 대한 연구가 진행된다면 보다 전략적인 작업을 고령자에게 제시하고 의미 있는 치료를 이끌어 낼 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

        Scopolamine 유발 기억력 손상 마우스 모델에서 분심기음의 항산화 및 기억력 감퇴 억제 효과

        Objectives: The purpose of this study was to confirm the anti-amnesic effects of Bunsimgieum (BSGE) through its favorable acetylcholine (ACh) and, acetylcholinesterase (AChE) activity, choline acetyltransferase (ChAT) mRNA expressions, and antioxidant effect on scopolamine (Sco)-induced memory impairment in C57BL/6 mice. Methods: Six groups, a total of 20 intact or 100 Sco-induced mice were used in this study, based on their body weight. Half of each group underwent passive avoidance tests and the measurement of hippocampus AChE activity, ACh content, and ChAT mRNA expression, The remaining half of each group underwent a Morris water-maze test and antioxidant defense system measurement as well. Results: Significant reductions in the step-through latency times from the passive avoidance test and reductions in the escape latency times from the Morris water-maze test were observed with increases of hippocampal AChE activities and, reductions in ACh contents and ChAT mRNA expression in hippocampus, as a result of Sco intraperitoneal treatment, in this study. Additionally, the increases in cerebral cortical MDA levels and, reductions in GSH contents, SOD activities, and CAT activities were demonstrated in the Sco control mice compared with the intact vehicle control mice, respectively. However, 28 days of consecutive oral pre-treatment of BSGE hot water extracts of 400, 200, and 100 mg/kg, respectively, markedly and dose-dependently inhibited Sco treatment-related amnesia. Conclusions: The results demonstrate that the oral administration of BSGE hot water extracts reduces Sco-induced memory impairment, through preserving ACh, related to ChAT mRNA expressions, causes AChE inhibition, and enhances the cerebral antioxidant defense system.

        알츠하이머병 유발 동물모델에서 한약제재 경구투여가 기억에 미치는 영향에 대한 국내 연구보고 고찰

        Objectives: The objective of this study was to review the effect of oral administration of herbal medicines on the improvement of memory in Alzheimer's disease animal model reported in Korean domestic journals. Methods: The Korean databases (Koreantk, KISS) were searched with memory as a popular search term. During the searches, only animal study reports were reviewed. Data of animal models, intervention, observation methods of measuring indicators were extracted from the databases. Results: Typically, 36 articles were reviewed. Twenty-two studies used scopolamine to induce Alzheimer's disease, 24 studies used complex herbal medicines, and 12 studies used simple herbal medicines. Polygalae Radix and Acori Rhizoma were the most frequently used herbal medicines to improve memory in Alzheimer model. To evaluate the effect of herbal medicines, 36 studies used macroscopy, 16 studies used molecular biological analysis, 21 studies used biochemical analysis, 15 studies used histological analysis, and 11 studies used hematological analysis. Each study showed significant improvement with respect to memory indicators. Conclusions: Overall, the results suggest that treatment employing herbal medicines is an effective option to treat memory impairment in Alzheimer’s disease.

        Scopolamine 유발 건망증 마우스 모델에서 육미지황탕(六味地黃湯)의 기억력 개선 및 항산화 효과

        Objectives: The objective of this study was to observe the anti-amnesic effects of Yukmijihwang-tang (YMJHT), on the scopolamine (Sco)-induced memory impairment in C57BL/6 mice through its favorable acetylcholine (ACh). Also, to observe acetylcholinesterase (AChE) activity, Choline acetyltransferase (ChAT) mRNA expressions, and antioxidant effect. Methods: Six groups, with a total of 20 normal and 100 Sco treated mice were selected based on their body weights after 1 week of acclimatization, were used in this study as follows. Half of the mice in each group were used for passive avoidance task tests and hippocampus ACh content, AChE activity and ChAT mRNA expression measurement, and the remaining half in each group used for Morris water maze test and measurement of cerebral antioxidant defense system. Results: Amnesia due to AChE activations and destroyed cerebral cortex antioxidant defense systems were markedly and dose-dependently inhibited after 28 days of continuous oral pre-treatment with YMJHT 400, 200 and 100 mg/kg, respectively. The overall effects of YMJHT 400 mg/kg were similar to those of tacrine 10 mg/kg. Conclusions: Based on the results, it was established that oral administration of YMJHT favorably alleviates Sco-induced memory impairment, through preservation of ACh, mediated by up-regulation of ChAT mRNA expressions and related AChE inhibition and augmentation of cerebral antioxidant defense system, at least in a condition of this experiment. The overall effects of YMJHT 400 mg/kg were similar to those of tacrine 10 mg/kg.

        급성 요추 압박골절 후 발생한 폐렴과 동반된 연하곤란 및 식욕부진에 대한 치험 1례

        Objective: The aim of this study is to describe the effects of traditional Korean medicine on a patient with dysphagia and anorexia following an acute lumbar compression fracture. Methods: The patient was treated with acupuncture and herbal medicine (Bojungikgi-tang and Insamyangyoung-tang), and the effects of the treatment were evaluated by monitoring oral feeding and using the Modified Barium Swallow (MBS) test. Results: After treatment, the amount of oral feeding more than doubled and the MBS was also improved. Conclusion: The results suggest that traditional Korean medicine may be effective for treating dysphagia and anorexia after an acute lumbar compression fracture.

        Scopolamine 유발 기억력손상 흰 쥐에서 笭桂甘棗湯加龍骨牡蠣의 인지기능개선과 항산화 효과

        Objectives: The purpose of this in vivo study is to observe anti-amnesic effects of Yeongkyekamjotanggayonggolmoryo (YGYM), a novel mixed herbal prescription, Ossis Mastodi and Ostreae Testa added Yeongkyekamjo-tang, on scopolamine induced amnesia in C57BL/6 mice through acetylcholine (ACh) and acetylcholinesterase (AChE) activity, Choline acetyltransferase (ChAT) mRNA expression, and antioxidant effects. Methods: Six groups, total 20 intact or 100 Sco treated mice were used in this study after one week of acclimatization period. Half the animals were used for passive avoidance task tests and hippocampus ACh content, AChE activity, and ChAT mRNA expression were measured. The other half was subjected to an underwater maze test and then the cerebral cortex antioxidant defense system was measured. Results: In the passive avoidance experiment, there was significant decrease in residence time in the bright room and in the underwater maze test, escape latency to escape from the esophagus significantly increased compared with the normal control group. At the final sacrifice, ACh content and ChAT mRNA expression decreased, AChE activity increased, and cerebral cortical MDA increased GSH content, SOD and CAT activity in Sco control mice, as compared to intact vehicle control mice. However, these Sco treatment-related memory loss through AChE activation destroyed the cerebral cortex antioxidant defense system, and was inhibited dose-dependently by 28 days consecutive oral pretreatments of YGYM extracts 500, 250, 125 mg/kg. Conclusions: In the above results, YGYM extract that oral administration of YGYM extracts alleviates the antioxidant defense system, through preservation of ACh mediated by upregulation of ChAT mRNA expression, and increase of AChE inhibition and brain antioxidant defense systems.

        Objectives: The objective of this study is to investigate the anti-amnesic effects of AR, Aucklandiae Radix, ground powder on scopolamine (Sco)-induced memory impairment in mice (C57BL/6) through its favorable acetylcholine (ACh) and acetylcholinesterase (AChE) activity, Choline acetyltransferase (ChAT) mRNA expression, and antioxidant effect. Methods: Six groups, a total of 20 intact or 100 Sco treated mice, were selected based on their body weights and were used in this study. Half of the mice in each group were used for the passive avoidance task test and the measurements of hippocampus ACh content, AChE activity and ChAT mRNA expression. The remaining half of the mice in each group were used for the Morris water maze test and cerebral antioxidant defense system measurement. Results: Marked decreases in step-through latency times in the passive avoidance task test and increases in escape latency times in the Morris water maze test were observed with decreases in the hippocampus ACh content and ChAT mRNA expression, and increases in the hippocampal AChE activities, as a result of Sco intraperitoneal treatment, in the present study. In addition, destruction of the cerebral cortex antioxidant defense systems was observed in Sco control mice as compared with intact vehicle control mice. However, 28 days of continuous oral pre-treatment with AR ground powder at doses of 400, 200 and 100 mg/kg markedly and dose-dependently inhibited the Sco treatment-related amnesia. Conclusions: The results prove that oral administration of AR ground powder reduces Sco-induced memory impairment. This is because it can preserve ACh, related to ChAT mRNA expression, cause AChE inhibition, and activate the cerebral antioxidant defense system.

        골다공증의 한약 치료 효과: 국내 및 국외 동물 실험 및 임상 연구 논문에 대한 문헌 고찰

        Objectives This study was designed to review the effect of herbal medicine on animal model and patients with osteoporosis. Methods The databases in Korea and overseas were searched with term as osteoporosis, Chinese medicine, Korean medicine, herbal medicine. Among the results, we reviewed studies published in 2011 to 2020. 420 articles were primarily selected and after processing through flowchart, finally 72 studies were selected. Results Above 72 studies, 71 studies showed that the herbal medicine was effective on treating osteoporosis, using macroscopical, osteological, histological, hematological analysis and urinalysis. Conclusions Using herbal medicine for treating osteoporosis is effective in various pathways. But further study should be conducted to clarify its treatment mechanisms and effectiveness.
