White organic light-emitting diodes (WOLEDs) with multi-emissive layer structure using two color fluorescent materials is fabricated. WOLED device is composed of ITO / NPB (50nm) / DPVBi (6.5nm) / MADN : DCM2 - 0.5% (17nm) / Bphen (30nm) / Liq (2nm) / Al (lOOnm). DCM2 was functioned as red fluorescent dye under MADN of red host material while DPVBi worked as blue emitting material in this structure. To obtain best white CIE color coordinate of (0.33 , 0.33),thicknesses of DPBVi and MADN was changed as varying DCM2’s concentration according to color shift in EL spectra. Optimized WOLED device shows emission efficiency of 5.04 cd/A, current density of 18.6 mA/cm2 and luminance of 940 cd/m2 at 6 V with CIE color coordinate, (0.34, 0.33). These results indicates that DPVBi layer effects on hole blocking and control of the exciton due to difference of energy level in highest occupied molecular orbital.

김민경(Min Kyung Kim), (Yoon Choi),공현석(Hyun 대한통증학회 1999 The Korean Journal of Pain Vol.12 No.2

N/A Background: Effect of nitric oxide on the hyperalgesia induced by inflammation is controversial. From our previous experiment, NOS inhibitor, L-NAME given during the induction period decrease mechanical hyperalgesia occured by Freund's complete adjuvant induced inflammation. In addition, we attempted to analyze the effects of L-NAME on mechanical hyperalgesia after the development of inflammation by Freund's complete adjuvant in rat paw. Methods: Male Sprague Dawley rats were divided into four groups; control (normal saline), and three different doses of L-NAME (0.1 mg, 1 mg, 10 mg). Inflammation was induced in rats by injecting 0.15 ml of Freund's complete adjuvant (FCA) intraplantarly. Rats showed typical hyperalgesia within twelve hours after injection and maintained this for about one week. Tests were done 2 days after injection of FCA. After the baseline test either L-NAME or saline was injected under light halothane anesthesia. Effect of L-NAME on hyperalgesia was assessed by measuring mechanical hyperalgesia at 15, 30, 60, 90, 120 minutes. Same experients were repeated on normal rats. Results: When injected at the site of inflammation, L-NAME caused dose dependent decrease in mechanical hyperalgesia. However, normal rats also showed increased mechanical threshold after L- NAME injection. Conclusions: Although L-NAME reduces FCA induced mechanical hyperalgesia, this result may solely be due to inhibition of nitric oxide production and need to be further determined.

전희정(Hee Jeong Jun), (Yoon Choi),정헌석(Heon 대한통증학회 1999 The Korean Journal of Pain Vol.12 No.1

N/A Background: Tourniquet pain has important impacts an anesthesia. Tourniquet pain and accom- panying cardiovascular changes are important factors that make patients in distress during anesthesia. As tourniquet pain may be modified by anesthesia, a study on the changes in the neural functions by tourniquet inflation in normal volunteers is important. Methods: Time-dependent changes in tourniquet pain, heart rate, phantom limb sensation, motor function, pain to pressure on upper extremity of 10 healthy and unpremedicated volunteers were mea- sured. Each parameter were measured every 5 minutes starting from 10 minutes before inflation to 15 minutes after deflation of tourniquet. Tourniquet was deflated when the subject felt unbearable pain (score 100 with visual analog scale). Results: Subjects manifested time-dependent pain responses to tourniquet inflation, characterized by increase in VAS, systolic and diastolic blood pressure. Mean duration of tourniquet inflation was 36.4 minutes, volunteers experienced motor paralysis at 27.6 minutes and sensory loss at 33.1 minutes. Pain to pressure decreased over time in both arms. The degree of decrease was greater in the arm on which tourniquet was applied than that in the non-applied arm. Phantom limb sensation occurred in 3 subjects. Conclusions: This study demonstrated dynamic changes in the neural functions during tourniquet inflation period. Tourniquet-induced pain and resultant hypertension occurred in all subjects. Appropriate anesthetic management is needed for the surgery using tourniquet.

이 청(Cheong Lee), (Yoon Choi),송명희(Myung He 대한통증학회 1998 The Korean Journal of Pain Vol.11 No.2

N/A Background: Effect of nitric oxide on the hyperalgesia induced by inflammation is controversial. We attempted to find out the peripheral effects of nitric oxide (NO) on hyperalgesia induced by Freund's eomplete adjuvant (FCA) induced inflammation. Methods: Male Sprague Dawley rats were divided into three groups; control, low dose NG-nitro- L-arginine methyl ester (L-NAME, 500 ug), high dose L-NAME (5 mg). Inflammation was induced by injecting 0.l ml of PCA intraplantarly, which shows typical hyperalgesia within twelve hours after injec- tion and maintamed for about one week. Drugs were injected 2 hours before, just before, and 3, 6, 9, 12 hours after the injection of FCA. Effect of L-NAME on hyperalgesia was assessed by measuring mechanical hyperalgesia and spontaneous pain for 3 days. Results: When injected at the site of inflammation, L-NAME caused dose dependent reduction of sponlaneous hyperalgesia. Mechanical hyperalgesia was also reduced by high dose L-NAME (p<0.05). After syslemic injection of high dose L-NAME in the back, no significant difference was noticed. Conclusions: This suggest that L-NAME reduces FCA induced hyperalgesia via peripheral action.

Vol.27 No.1

This study reconstructed the story of the life of a male alcohol addicted restorer who grew up in a family with alcoholic through narrative research. By analyzing the story of a narrator who has lived a lifetime between a father of alcoholism and a mother of extreme depression, the experience of being represented as a victim of alcoholism can be analyzed in terms of the continuity of ‘time’, the ‘space’ of the physical speaker, in the context of ‘interaction’ with society, tried to find out if the story of the victim is reconstructed. Through the analysis procedure adopted by Clandinin and Connelly (2002), the narrative of the narrator was reconstructed. The result of the reconstruction of the narrator was that “the shadow of despair and fear”, “the boy who wanted to be loved and leaned”, “my appearance on the mirror”, “the spirit of parents who are not lost” and “the deep-rooted tree”. study suggests the change alcoholic and alcoholic’s children to the social awareness of the addicted family from the viewpoint of the victim, reflecting the reality of the domestic society.

임중우(Joong Woo Leem), (Yoon Choi),이재환(Jae 대한통증학회 1998 The Korean Journal of Pain Vol.11 No.1

N/A Background: The present study was conducted to investigate effects of mieroinjection of bicuculline, GABA-A receptor antagonist, into the brain stem nuclei on the dorsal horn neuron responsiveness in rats with an experimental peripheral neuropsthy. Methods: An experimental neuropathy was induced by a unilateral ligation of L5-L6 spinal nerves of rats. After 2-3 weeks after the surgery, single-unit recording was made from wide dynamic range (WDR) neurons in the spinal cord dorsal horn. Results: Responses of WDR neurons to both noxious and innocuous mechanical stimuli applied to the somatic reeeptive fields were enhanced on the nerve injured side. These enhanced responsiveness of WDR neurons were suppressed by microinjection of bicuculline into periaqueductal gray(PAG) or nucleus reticularis gigantocellularis(Gi). A similar suppression was also observed when morphine was microinjected into PAG or Gi. Suppressive actian by Gi-bicuculline was reversed by naloxonazine, p -opioid receptor antagonist, microinjected into PAG whereas PAG-bicuculline induced suppression was not affected by naloxonazine injection into Gi. Gi-bicuculline induced suppression were reversed by a transection of dorsolateral funiculus(DLF) of the spinal cord. Conclusions: The results suggest that endogenous opioids, via acting on GABAergic interneurons in PAG and Gi, may be involved in the control of neuropathic pain by activating the descending inhibitory pathways that project to the spinal dorsal horn through DLF to inhibit the responsiveness of WDR neurons.
