        성인(成人) 남자(男子)의 슈트 착용(着用) 실태(實態) 조사(調査) -도시근로자(都市勤勞者)를 중심(中心)으로-

        The purpose of this research is to offer basic data for study of men`s suits by investigating the wearing conditions of men`s suits. For data collection, a questionnaire was composed of a number of times and the reason of the suit wearing, and a number of suits they posses etc. The subjects of this research were male who aged 20-59 and resided in Seoul and the capital region. The results of the research are summarized as the following : 1. The mean age of suit wearing for the first time is 22.7 years old. The younger began to wear the suits earlier than the older. 2. A number of times of suit wearing for a week is more than 5 days mostly. Being educated higher, the ratio of suit wearing is getting higher. And In the case of job, office men, sales men and men whose job of specialization are wearing suits many a time more than a graduate student and a technician. Most of tne men especially 30`s~40`s is wearing the suit as a working garment. 3. Most of men is wearing jacket, dress-shirt and necktie in spring and fall, dress-shirt and necktie in summer, and jacket, vest, dress-shirt and necktie in winter. 4. As a general rule, men have about 2 suits for spring/fall and winter, and about 1 suit for summer. Also male has more than 6 ready-made suits and about 1 custom suit. The last, men almost do not use the suspender with suits.

      • 衣服構成을 위한 基礎硏究 : 男性用 上衣를 중심으로

        The purpose of this study was to give basic data for clothing construction for the upper garments of men. In this investigation the body measurement with 43items were taken from 185men(aged from 20 to 59) living in Incheon and Seoul by the random sampling method and were measured by the R Martin's method during August and September, 1990. The data were composed of 45items in all: 43items in measurements, 2items in calculated. The data were calculated by computer, and analyzed for the results in several statistical methods. The results were summarized as follows: 1. As the results of comparative analysis of the body measurements by age, the horizontal items such s the widths, depths, and girths were increased with advancing ages, while stature and arm length were decreased. Weight was increased also. 2. As the results of comparative analysis of the body measurements by type, stature and arm length were decreased with getting fat, while widths, depths, girths, trunk lengths, and weight were increased. 3. In result of comparative analysis of the body proportion by age and body type, because of the remarkable development in the region of the waist and abdomen, the trunk was thicker with advancing ages and getting fat. Thus it seemed that man's body becomes larger toward the H-Shape or tube form centering around the waist and abdomen with advancing ages and getting fat. 4. As the result of correlation analysis between the body measurements, there were highly significant correlations between items in the same region and between the horizontal items. On the other hand, there were high correlation between weight, chest girth and horizontal items, and between stature and arm length. Thus chest girth and stature were selected as a basic region for the upper garments of men. 5. On the basic of the factor analysis to minimize the measurement items for making the upper garments of men, chest girth, back waist length and stature which represent the cluster from the factors I, II and III in which the factor load is concentrated were selected. 6. The multiple regression equations were for mulated to estimate the measurements for 25items needed formaking the upper garments of men by used chest girth as independent variable. In result of F-test, all the items were prove the significance. And the regression equations by simple regression analysis for the upper garments of men were formulated to estimate the measurements for needed items by using chest girth, back waist length and stature as independent variables each other. In result of t-test, all the items were prove the significant, too. There were little differences between the measurements estimated by regression equation and the actual measurements by measuring. Therefore we can use these regression equations for making the upper garments of men.

        성인 남자의 수트 구매 실태 조사

        The purpose of this research was to of for basic data for study of men's suits by investigating the buying conditions of men's suits. For data collection, a questionnaire was composed of a purchasing price, a purchasing place, the source of the information, the reason of the suit buying, a standard for choice, recognition of the ready-made suit's size and a number of suits they buy etc. The subjects of this research were male who aged 20 ∼ 59 and resided in Seoul and the capital region. The results of the research were summarized as the following : 1. Most of the men purchased a ready-made suit rather than a custom suit and a easy-order suit because of the convenience for buying. But the elder was tend to purchase a custom suit than the younger. And the reason of custom suit or easy-order suit buying was size for fitness. 2. It was usually done in a department store and an agency as a purchasing place. The men who resided in Seoul used a department store more than ones who resided in the capital region. Most of the men used bargain sale. The source of the information of suits came principally himself and a wie. Most of the men purchased the suits with their wives of themselves. The elder depended upon their wives for buying suit than the younger. The standards for buying the ready-made suit were color, style and price. The number of suit they buy in a year was 0.9 suits for S/F, 0.7 suits for winter, 0.4 suits for summer and 0.2 suits for combination. The main purchasing price was 150,000 ∼250,000 won. 3. Most of the consummer was to be satisfied a sense of wearing, color, design etc, but they ware not to be satisfied price, A/S, size etc for ready-made suits, And they usally didn't know the size of ready-made suits.
