        학자그룹 인터넷 언어에 나타난 특성 분석

        This study aims at identifying the languages on a particular internet web site in which some Korean scholars are participated. For this study, more than 10,000 written passages obtained from the particular web site were reviewed and analyzed for more than one year. The users and writers for this web site were researchers, professors and their candidates, and Master or Ph.D candidates, whose job was generally concerned with studying, teaching and researching. The results of the study were as follows: they were trying to show their social dialects to be identified as a scholarly group; their languages involved the high level of academic vocabulary and many foreign words and show a standard language, a long sentence and rules of composition even though they were on internet web site. As showing a strong sense of responsibility towards the society and identical internet names in their writings, psychological complexity about their identity were also revealed in this study. Overall, it can be suggested that the Korean scholars consciously make an effort to maintain their social identities with their sociolinguistic features as a upper-level group in Korean society.

        대학생들의 국어능력과 영어능력과의 관계: 영어에 대한 태도를 중심으로

        There has been a claim that mother tongue skills can affect foreign language learning. However, it is a question whether Korean skills of university students are also related to their English language learning. This paper aims at identifying this question by investigating the relationship between Korean skills and English skills among university students. For this study, the scores of two subjects, `Thoughts and Expressions` and `General English`, from two hundred and forty eight university students were investigated, compared and analyzed. Furthermore, Language Attitudes Questionnaires were distributed to one hundred and sixty two students who took the courses of the above two subjects. The questionnaire survey was based on a belief that those who were in high grade in Korean skills might possibly have favorable attitudes towards English learning, as it is revealed that attitudes towards English are likely to have a close relation with English skills. The result of the study showed that the participants` English skills were closely related to their Korean skills; high achievers in Korean skills showed a high level of English skills, whereas lower achievers in Korean skills demonstrated a low level of English skills. In addition, the result of the language attitude questionnaires indicated that the participants who had a high level of Korean skills produced more favorable attitudes towards English than those who had a low level of Korean skills.

        대학생들의 영어능력과 언어정체성인식과의 관계

        This study aims at identifying how strongly the participants perceive their linguistic identity and whether the perception of linguistic identity has effect on acquiring English skills. Two hundred eighty two university students participated in a questionnaire survey eliciting the perception of linguistic identity and their English proficiency was evaluated by the researcher. The answers to the questionnaire which were divided into four groups in accordance with the degree of their English proficiency were analyzed. The overall results on the survey showed that the participants` perception of linguistic identity was very strong: they strongly perceived Korean language as a symbol and the Korean language is a necessary condition to be a Korean, and insisted that Korean people should speak Korean. Furthermore, predictions that participants` level of English proficiency would be influenced by the perception of linguistic identity were confirmed at this study since significant correlation was found: the participants who were in a high level of English proficiency showed a weak perception of linguistic identity, whereas those who were in a low level of English proficiency appeared to be strong identifiers. Therefore, this study carefully concludes that English proficiency is closely related to their sense of linguistic identity.

        초등단계에 영어조기 유학을 하고 귀국한 학생들의 학부모포커스그룹 인터뷰

        Early English learning in English speaking countries is currently booming in South Korea. However, it has not been clear that early English learning in English speaking countries is effective and fruitful. This study aims at identifying whether or not early English learning in foreign countries can cause some problems. The focus group interview was conducted with six parents who sent their children to English speaking countries for improving their children`s English skills. The focus group interview was used to obtain insights about the addressed issues through the qualitative research procedure. The overall results on this qualitative survey revealed that early English learning in English speaking countries could bring about some negative effects on learning; children`s linguistic identity would be weakened and there might be barriers to their academic progress. This paper indicates that early English learning in English speaking countries is inefficient in terms of the improvement of children`s English, thus parents should consider many aspects when they have in mind they send their children aborad to learn English, suggesting that learning English in those countries be done at a college level.

        환경 오염 문제에 대한 대응으로 국제사회의 규제 노력이 증가함에 따라 친환경 광고가 산업 전반에 걸쳐 확대일로에 있음은 주지의 사실이다. 이 에 본 연구는 자동차 산업과 유통 업종에 대한 사례 연구를 중심으로 프랑스 친환경 광고에 나타난 커뮤니케이션의 특성을 조사하였다. 연구 결과, 친환경 광고는 일반적인 광고와는 달리,私有財의 성격을 지닌 상업광고와 公共財의 성격을 지닌 공익광고의 속성이 混在된 특수한 형태로, 시민 啓蒙的 公共財의 색채를 강하게 띠고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 이와 함께, “模造 親環境 (6co-blanchiment)” 광고 현상 특징도 빈번히 감지되는 가운데, 기업체의 친환경 광고문은 추상적이고 막연한 친환경 관련 단어들을 이용한 이미지 개선적인 광고 연출색이 짙을 뿐, 특정 기업 고유의 差別化된 친환경 광고 戰略이 부각된 경우는 매우 미진하다는 사실도 파악할 수 있었다. 구체적 실례로, 자동차, 유통 등 업종에 관계 없이 제품의 장점은 단순히 간접적으로 암시될 뿐이며, “CO2 減縮”과 “再活用”이라는 단순 평이한 口號 이상의, 관련 제품과 친환경 영향에 대한 구체적 검증 자료를 제시하지 않은 채 千篇一律的으로 "eco, bio, nature, respecteux, durable, propre, responsable” 등 친환경의 表象格인 “녹색”, “자연주의”로 集約되는 추상적인 단어들만 남용하고 있었다. 이는 公共財의 생산자는 상업적 이익을 기대하기 어려운 반면 私有財의 생산자는 차별적 이익을 얻을 수 있다는 점을 감안할 때, 대부분의 기업들이 경쟁기업과 차별화할 수 있는 친환경 사업 역량이나 노력이 부족하다는 사실을 반증하는 증거일 수 있을 것이다. 따라서, 객관적으로 검증된 자료를 토대로 기업 고유의 ‘價値’와 일맥상통한,特化된 恒數의 친환경 광고 전략을 강구하여야 할 것이다.

        외국인 유학생들의 영어능력과 한국어 능력과의 관계 분석

        This study focuses on investigating whether international students` English skills are related to their Korean skills. For this study, 82 international students` English skills and Korean skills were evaluated through the scores of two subjects: English Writing and Korean Vocabulary & Grammar. To raise the level of the validity and reliability of the study, Language Attitudes Questionnaires were distributed to another 102 students. The result of the analysis for English & Korean scores showed that the participants` English skills seem to be related to their Korean skills; the participants with high level of English skills showed a high level of Korean skills, whereas lower achievers in English skills acquired a low level of Korean skills. However, the result of the language attitude questionnaires indicated that the two skills were not related to each other because the participants who had a high level of their perceived English skills demonstrated less favorable attitudes towards Korean than those who had a low level of their perceived English skills. In other words, the participants who had lower subjective English skills showed more positive attitudes towards Korean. On the basis of the results, it is difficult to identify whether there is a relationship between the two skills. However, in accordance with previous studies, the reason for an unclear relationship between the two skills seems due to their low level of mother tongue skills. For a clearer relationship, further study for the participants with a high level of mother tongue skills is required.

        보육교사의 전문성 인식, 학습민첩성, 긍정심리자본이 직무만족도에 미치는 영향

        본 연구의 목적은 보육교사의 전문성 인식, 학습민첩성, 긍정심리자본 등이 직무만족도에 미치는 영향을 확인하여 보육교사의 긍정적인 직무 수행에 필요한 정책적 시사점을 제안하는 것이다. 이를 위해 전남 지역의 보육교사 283명을 대상으로 온라인 설문조사를 실시하였고, 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 5년 이상의 경력을 가진 보육교사들이 전문성 인식과 긍정심리자본에 있어서 높은 수준을 보여주었다. 둘째, 보육교사의 직무만족도는 전문성 인식, 긍정심리자본, 학습민첩성의 순으로 높은 상관을 보였다. 셋째, 보육교사의 전문성 인식과 긍정심리자본이 직무만족도에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구결과를 통해 보육교사의 전문성 인식, 학습민첩성, 긍정심리자본은 직무만족도를 설명하는 유의미한 변인임을 확인하였다. 따라서 어린이집에서의 직무만족도를 높이기 위해서는 전문 연수과정과 컨설팅 등을 지원하여 스스로 전문직업인이라는 인식을 갖도록 하고 나아가 교사들에게 보다 많은 자율성을 부여하며 수직적인 어린이집의 운영 시스템을 개선할 필요가 있다. The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of childcare teachers professional recognition, learning agility, and positive psychological capital on job satisfaction in order to suggest policies that required for child care teacher’s positive performance. For this purpose, an online survey was conducted with 283 in-service nursery teachers in Jeonnam and the results are as follows. First, teachers with more than five years of experience showed higher levels of professional recognition and positive psychological capital. Second, the job satisfaction of child care teachers was highly correlated in order of professional recognition, positive psychological capital, and learning agility. Third, the professional recognition and positive psychological capital of the childcare teachers have positive effects on their job satisfaction. Through this study, it was confirmed that the professional recognition, learning agility, and positive psychological capital of the childcare teachers were significant variables in explaining job satisfaction. Therefore, in order to increase job satisfaction in daycare centers, it is necessary to firmly recognize that they are professional workers by providing training courses and consulting supports. Furthermore, there is a need to allow teachers more autonomy and to reform the hierarchical system in day care places.

        과테말라에서의 “인종”(race) 개념에 대한 역사적 고찰

        This paper examines the notion of ‘race' in Guatemala. The goal of this paper is to discuss how the notion of race in Guatemala has been shaped in specific sociohistorical conditions since the post-colonial period until now. In the 19thcentury, the nation-state began to be built, accompanied by a new ideology of ‘the national development,' which in general excluded the Maya from the benefits of economic development, but assigned the biological category of ‘race' to the Maya. Racist attitudes have continued forming the dominant ideology of the oligarchy and ladino intellectuals elaborate and transmit a coherent and homogeneous form of ideology that includes their vision of indigenous people. During the popular movements period in Guatmala, the main ideology of the leftist guerrillas was based on class struggles which sought the unification of Indian peasants and ladino workers. The discourse of ‘race' that has been useful to discriminate against Mayan Indians has recently been challenged by Mayan cultural activists' efforts to redefine Mayan Indians as a unified ethnicity. Mayan cultural activists are seeking self-determination, forging a homogenous identity or solidarity as a tool of resisting the dominant. The current movement reflects a change of understanding of identity not just from class-centered as in the guerrilla movement, but also from community-bound ethnicity to the level of ‘Pan-Mayan' identity. In conclusion, the notion of ‘race' that was associated with the identity of the Maya in Guatemala has been invented, redefined, and transformed in specific historical conditions, This study will further our understanding of the notion of ‘race' in Latin America as an ideology and as a social reality.
