A new single-switch, three-phase, high power factor, multi-resonant, ZCS buck rectifier that operates in the continuous conduction mode has been reported. Basically, pulse frequency modulation method should be adopted to suitably control the system. This paper presents a torque ripple reduction technique of direct torque control(DTC) for high power induction motors driven by 3-level Inverters with the inverter switching frequency limited around 0.5-1kHz level. It is noted that conventional DTC algorithms to reduce torque ripple are devised for applications with relatively high switching frequency above 2-3kHz. A new DTC algorithm, especially 'for low switching frequency inverter system, illustrates relatively reduced torque ripple characteristics. Simulation and experimental results show the effectiveness of the proposed control algorithm.

This paper aims at developing remote control system to control and monitor distributed various devices such as photovoltaic inverter system through internet. TCP/IP(Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol) and photovoltaic inverter system operated in a row are adopted for network management protocol and applied device, respectively. For controlling and monitoring distributed devices in real-time, java-environment software is constructed. Also, Hello Device, general-use interface controller between network device and applied device is proposed. Finally, serial communication such as RS-232C is used between controller and applied device.<br/> <br/>

The accurate values of parameters of an induction motor are required for its high performance control. So far, many methods using current sensors, voltage sensors and speed sensor have been developed. This paper proposes an identification method of parameters of induction motor only using current sensors.

As photovoltaic(PV) power generation systems become more common, it will be necessary to investigate islanding detection method for PV systems. Islanding of PV systems can cause a variety of problems and must be prevented. However, if the real and reactive powers of the load and PV system are closely matched, islanding detection by passive methods becomes difficult. Also, most active methods lose effectiveness when there are several PV systems feeding the same island. The active frequency drift positive feedback method(AFDPF) enables islanding detection by forcing the frequency of the voltage in the island to drift up or down. In this paper the research for the minimum value of chopping fraction gain applied digital phase-locked-loop (DPLL) to AFDPF considering output power quality and islanding prevention performance are performed by simulation and experiment according to IEEE Std 929-2000 islanding test.
