지난 삼십년간 미국교회에서는 목회상담 영역을 방해하는 새로운 경향이 출몰했다. 그것은 소위 "기독교심리학"이라 불리우는 것인데, "모든 진리는 하나님의 진리"라는 모토를 내세우며 세속 심리학적 이론과 성경적 진리들을 통합하고자 시도하는 무리들이다. 그 기독교 심리학자들은 믿기를, 하나님께서 불신자들로 구성된 심리학자들로 하여금 성경에 미처 언급하지 못한 인간의 삶에 있어서의 감정적, 정신적, 영적인 모든 문제들을 해결하는 해답을 담고 있는 진리들을 발견하도록 허용하셨다는 것이다. 또한 그들은 심리학 이론들과의 통합 이야말로 현대 목회상담을 보다 효과적이고도 과학적인 접근방식으로 유도할 최상의 방법이라 확신하고 있다. 그러나 심리학의 전제조건들은 성경의 전제조건들과는 정반대의 입장을 표명하고 있으므로, 그 둘은 결코 혼합되어질 수 없는 것이다. 그럼에도 불구하고 기독교 심리학자들의 책들은 베스트셀러들이 되어왔고, 철저한 여과 과정을 거치지 않은 상태에서 한국에도 많은 책들이 번역출판되어 많은 성도들에게 읽혀오며 그들의 삶의 영적, 정신적 문제들을 그 책들을 통해 하나님의 말씀으로 해결하기보다는 세속 심리학의 이론들로 해결 하도록 방치해 온 것이다. 이것은 곧, 그들로 하여금 성경에서 제시하는 교회와 교회지도자들에 대한 회의적인 시각을 주고 하나님 앞에서 겸허하기보다는 자존감을 내세워 하나님의 영역과 성경의 권위에 도전하는 결과를 유도하는 것이 되므로, 결국 하나님의 나라를 향한 우리의 공동목표에 커다란 장애물로 다가온 것 임을 우리는 유념하여야만 한다. 따라서 이 논문은 기독교 심리학과 성경적 상담에 있어 그 전제 조건들의 차이점들을 분명히 밝힘으로써 한국 교회가 기독교 심리학이 주는 미혹된 길로 가지 않고 말씀으로 성도들을 바른 방향으로 상담하는 길을 추구하려는 의도에서 비롯되었다. For last thirty years, a new tendency has forestalled in the part of pastoral counseling of the American churches. It is "Christian psychology," which attempts to integrate secular psychological theories and biblical truths, with the foundation of "All truth is God`s truth." The Christian psychologists believes that God has allowed to the unbeliving psychologists to discover the truths about the keys for solving human emotional, mental, and spiritual problems of life that He did not mention in the Scripture. Also they have convinced that the integration with psychological theories would be the most effective scientific approach for the modern pastoral counseling. However, the presuppostions of psychology is totally opposite and i! mpossible to mingle with the presuppositions of the Scripture as water and oil. Nevertheless, the books of Christian psychologists have been the bestsellers and they have been introduced to Korean Christians in the translated forms without the pre-process of filterating examination and systematic research concerning them, although biblical counseling is not firmly established in the circumstances of Korean churches. It has led many Korean Christians not only to look for the answers of their life problems through secular psychological approaches rather than biblical approaches, also to fall into a skeptical thoughts about the roles of pastors and the churches, which may challenge the providence of God and the authority of the Scripture. Purpose Statement: To identify the differences of presuppositions between Christian psychology and Biblical counseling so that the Korean church goes on the way it is supposed to be as the Bible says without being interrupted by Christian psychology.
