Objectives:It’s difficult to evaluate PTSD due to many comfounding factors. This study was conducted to evaluate the characteristics of PTSD symptoms for patients with PTSD having experienced single traumatic event with K-WIS and MMPI which are widely used clinically. Methods:K-WIS and MMPI were performed and compared on the 11 patients with PTSD and 12 normal comparison. Results:The result of MMPI test concluded that the patients group had significantly high F, low K scale in validity scales, and also significantly high of Hs, D, Hy, Pd, Pa, Pt, Sc, Si in clinical scales. The result of K-WIS test showed that the verbal intelligence was significantly low in patients with PTSD. Conclusion:The MMPI results from the patients with PTSD showed overall elevation in clinical scales. Low verbal intelligence of K-WIS test supports previous study results.

Objectives : This study was performed to evaluate the effects of PTSD on memory function, to investigate the difference of memory function between PTSD and non-PTSD patients, and to identify major variables correlated to PTSD scale and Memory Assessment Scale. Methods: The authors used PTSD-scale(Mississippi scale and Combat Exposure Scale) for measuring PTSD severity. And, Beck Depression Inventory was also used. Memory assessment scale was assessed by well trained psychologist. Thirty one Vietnam veterans who had been hospitalized were collected consecutively. These patients were evaluated by psychiatrists with interview and measurement for fifteen months since March, 1997. The collected data were analyzed by SPSS and the stastistic methods used for analysis Chi-square, t-test, and Pearson's correlation. Results : 1) There were significant differences in short-term memory and verbal memory between PTSD and non-PTSD in Vietnam veterans. 2) Mississippi scale and Combat Exposure Scale were negatively correlated to short-term memory and verbal memory(Pearson's correlation). 3) Religion status was a significant variable between PTSD and non-PTSD in Vietnam veterans. 4) There is no significant difference in visual memory and total memory scale between PTSD and Non-PTSD in Vietnam veterans Conclusions : Neuropsychological changes were found in the posttraumatic stress disorder. There were significant differences in short-term memory and verbal memory between PTSD and non-PTSD in Vietnam veterans. Mississippi scale and Combat Exposure Scale were negatively correlated to short-term memory and verbal memory. We suggest that neuropsychological test might be used for an objective assessment of patients with the combat related PTSD and be considered helpful in the assessment of patients with the diagnosis. And we also suggest rehabilitation strategies would be used to compensate for memory deficits in PTSD patients.

이상호(Lee Sang-Ho),한상철(Han Sang-Chul),최영안(Choi Young-An) 한국체육과학회 2009 한국체육과학회지 Vol.18 No.2
The purpose of this study was to examine effects of taking BCAA and glutamine on the body composition and hormone in weight training for 10 weeks. Subjects were selected by 13 male university students whose major in physical education and they had no medical problems. This study was divided that experiment group is taking BCAA and glutamine by exercising whereas contrast group is just conducting exercise. And this study was measured the change in body composition(skeletal muscle, body fat) and hormone(IGF-1, testosterone, cortisol). The results of this study are as follows. First, experiment group was significantly higher than contrast group in the increase of skeletal muscle rate, however there was no difference at decrease of body fat rate. Second, experiment group was significantly higher than contrast group at testosterone and IGF-1, however there was no difference at cortisol. As a result taking BCAA and glutamine had effect on the body composition and hormone in weight training for 10 weeks.
