Electrochemical characteristics of morpholinium based Ionic Liquid

Ionic liquids (ILs) that are fluid at room temperature exciting interest as electrolytes of fuel cells and batteries. Their special properties such as wide electrochemical window, high conductivity, and wide operation temperature range make ILs attractive to electrolyte applications. For that purpose, new families of salts based on morpholinium organic cations combined with the bis (trifluoromethane sulfonyl)imide anions and their lithium doped materials are reported in the presentstudy. These pure ILs were proven to be conductive and, electrochemically and thermally stable at room temperature.The conductivity values from 10-3 to 10- order are investigated in the temperature range between 293K to 323K. And their lithium-doped ionic liquids were also proven to be highly conductive and electrically stable. In addition, the physical and electrochemical characteristics of these new type Ionic liquids based on morpholinium salts have been investigated for their uses as electrolytes of fuel cells and batteries.

Objective: To evaluate the relationship of work departments, carotid IMT, and plaque formation as predictors of cardiovascular disease in white-collar and blue-collar workers Method: A total of 201 workers from a metal agricultural equipment manufacturing plant near Daegu were administered questionnaires to obtain information on their general characteristics, their work-related factors. In addition, the workers were given a clinical examination, which included a carotid artery ultrasonography. In total, 193 (96.0%) of questionnaires were completed and analyzed for this study. Multiple regression analysis and multiple logistic regression analysis were performed on the data for analysis. Result: Blue-collar workers had thicker carotid artery IMT when compared to white-collar workers. After adjustment, the carotid IMT was affected by age, working department, hypertension, and diabetes;plaque formation was affected by age, hypertension, total cholesterol, and excessive drinking. Conclusion: This study suggests that carotid IMT is associated with working department. Therefore, we need to examine the effect that occupational health services has on cardiovascular disease, focusing on the characteristics of each department. 목적: 사무직과 생산직 근로자에서 뇌∙심혈관계의 질병의 예측 인자로서 경동맥 내중막 두께 및 죽종 형성 유무를 통하여 근무부서에 의한 영향을 알아보고자 한다. 방법: 대구 근교 소재 농기구 제조 공장의 생산직과 사무직 근로자 201명을 대상으로 경동맥 초음파 검사 및 설문조사와 임상검사를 실시하였다. 이 중 설문조사에 결측치가 있는 8명을 제외하고 193(96.0%)명에 대해 분석을 실시하였다. 분석방법으로는 다중 선형 회귀분석 및 다변량 로지스틱 회귀분석을 시행하였다. 결과: 생산직 근로자가 사무직 근로자에 비해 경동맥 내중막 두께가 더 두껍게 측정되었으며 죽종 또한 더 많은 비율로 관찰되었다. 관련변수를 보정 후 경동맥 내중막 두께에는 연령, 근무 근무부서, 고혈압, 당뇨가 영향을 미치는 것으로 나왔고 죽종 형성에는 연령, 고혈압, 총콜레스테롤, 과량음주가 영향을 미치는 것으로 나왔다. 결론: 경동맥 내중막 두께는 생산직에서 사무직에 비해 두께가 두꺼운 것으로 나타났으며 근무부서가 경동맥 내중막 두께의 위험인자로 작용할 수 있다는 가능성을 볼 수 있었다. 앞으로 근무부서의 특성을 고려한 효과적인 뇌∙심혈관계 질병 관리를 위한 노력이 필요할 것으로 생각된다.

Room Temperature Ionic liquids have received attentions as green solvents. Recently, other applications in electrolytes are also finding, because of their favorable properties, such as non - volatility, high ionic conductivities, wide electrochemical windows, negligible - flammability, high thermal stability. In the present study, new families of salts based on morpholinium organic cations combined with the bis(trifluoromethane sulfonyl)imide anions are reported. Morpholinium cation - based ILs’ potential uses as electrolytes based on following some reasons: The effect of oxygen group in the cation for ionic conductivity, the advantages of synthesis and purification processes and cost reduction in production of imidazolium ionic liquids. In this work, we report morpholinium cation-based ionic liquids, present the properties of these ILs and result electrolyte application. In addition, the physical and electrochemical characteristics of these Ionic liquids based have been investigated for their uses as electrolytes.

Recently, considerable interest has been manifested in the use of room temperature ionic liquids as battery electrolytes and green-solvent alternatives owing to their unique electrochemical and physical properties. Ionic liquids are liquids that are comprised entirely of ions like ionic melts which are produced by heating normal inorganic salts. At present the ionic liquids can be produced at temperatures as low as 177.15 K and appear to be undemanding, not extremely expensive, and relatively easily to manufacture. They generally feature good stability in air and water, a wide liquid range, and relatively favorable viscosity and density characteristics. Moreover, either the length of side chain of cation or the specifically designed anion can be easily controlled for various uses. These features facilitate applying ionic liquids to various industrial applications. The objective of this study is to evaluate the preliminary results related to some industrial applications of ionic liquids. : (1) absorption heat pumps, (2)electrolytes for batteries.
