        알팔파의 사료가치연구 1 . 알팔파 가공시 영양가 변화에 관한 연구

        In order to investigate feed values due to processing form of alfalfa, this study was carried out with 4 heads of sheep and Korean Native Cattle, respectively, for pellet, cube and hay of alfalfa imported in the year of 1984 and 1988. The results obtained were as follows; 1. Proximate composition Crude protein content was highest(24.66) in cube but lowest(17.60%) in pellet. crude fiber content was 29.0 and 17.82%, respectively, in pellet and cube, but NFE contents similar in all forms. 2. Cell wall constituent content ADF and NDF contents were 49.42 and 37.41%, respectively. in pellet but 31.15 and 22.03%, in cube. 3. Amino acid and mineral composition Contents of cystine and methioine were lowest in all forms. Ca, P and K were similar in all forms. Na content(%) was highest(0.45) in hay but lowest(0.05) in pellet. 4. Digestibility and digestible nutrientIn order to investigate feed values due to processing form of alfalfa, this study was carried out with 4 heads of sheep and Korean Native Cattle, respectively, for pellet, cube and hay of alfalfa imported in the year of 1984 and 1988. Digestibilities and nutrient values were high in cube. Dry mater digestibility and TDN value were 67.06 and 62.51%, respectively, in cube and 55.76 and 55.65% in pellet. 5. Because nutrient values of alfalfa are varied according to cutting stages and cultivating area such as above results, It is required to utilize alfalfa with evaluating exact feed components of alfalfa and considering feed cost between alfalfa and others.

        국내산 조사료의 세포막구성물질조사 1 . 목초류의 세포막구성물질함량

        In order to estimate the content of structural carbohydrates in forages produced in Korea. the analyses were carried out for 8 grasses and 4 legume forages at pasture in Livestock Experiment Station. The results obtained were as follows. 1. NDF, ADF, lignin and cellulose of grass forages considerably increased when their life stages progressed; 46 to 72%, 24 to 44%, 3 to 8% and 18 to 34%, respectively. 2. NDF, ADF, lignin and cellulose of legume forages changed less than those of grasses forages; 29 to 55%, 20 to 35%, 4 to 11% and 18 to 34%, respectively.

        땅콩깍지 , 콩깍지 , 유채깍지 및 유채짚의 일반조성분 및 그 소화율에 암모니아처리가 미치는 영향

        The effects of 3% anhydrous ammonia on the proximate composition and digestibility of peanut hull, soy bean hull, rape seed hull and rape straw were investigated with sheep. The content of crude protein was increased 1.9-2.6 times by ammonia treatment. DCP content in Peanut hull was increased (p$lt;0.05) from 0 to 6.81%, and in the others increased (p$lt;0.01) by 2.5-3.8 times by NH₃ treatment. NDF, hemicellulose and lignin contents tended to be lower, However, hemicellulose in peanut hull was not affected and lignin content in soy bean hull was increased from 9.19 to 10.95% by NH₃ treatment. Digestibility of crude protein was improved (p$lt;0.01), but digestibility of dry matter and energy was increased significantly in only rape seed hull. Peculiarly, the digestibility of NFE in rape straw was decreased (p$lt;0.01) from 62.55 to 44.13% by NH₃ treatment. The feed consumption of the tested feeds without concentrates was significantly increased by ammoniation. However there were no significant (p$gt;0.05) effects on the value of TDN, DE in hulls and stray except rape seed hull. Therefore, the effect of ammoniation was the highest in rape seed hull, and varied with feedstuffs.

        젖소에 대한 대두피의 사료적 가치에 관한 연구

        A digestion trial with four wether lambs and a feeding trial with sixteen Holstein cows of late lactation were conducted to evaluate nutritive value of soyhull and its feeding value to lactating cows. Digestibility of dry matter, crude protein and crude fiber were 78.0, 69.9 and 74.0%, respectively and total digestible nutrient content of soyhull was about 68.8%. When soyhull was included in dairy concentrates for replacement of the same amount of corn at the levels of 5.5, 11.0 and 16.5% of concentrates (fed about 7㎏ a day), milk production gradually decreased but milk fat content was increased. When milk production per unit concentrate or total feed consumed was calculated soyhull was as efficient as corn in providing energy for milk production but the energy content of soyhull was lower than that of corn, which caused slightly lower milk production in cows fed a limited amount of concentrates containing soyhull.

        돼지에 있어서 주요사료에 대한 가소화영양성분조사

        The digestible experiments using swine were carried out to make up $quot;the Composition of Korean Feedstuffs$quot; published in 1981. The results obtained are as follows; DCP and DE value of wheat shorts were slightly higher than those of the Composition of Korean Feedstuffs (1981). TDN value, however, was lower resulting from low crude fiber digestibility. DE value of naked milled barley and milled barley were superior to that of the Composition of Korean Feedstuffs (1981) and NRC (1979), respectively. Campared between species of rapeseed meal, DCP and TDN value of Yeong San were higher than those of Yudal. It was also found that nutrient digestibilities, DCP, and TDN of alfalfa pellet was lower than those of the Composition of Korean Feedstuffs (1981).

        Chicory ( Cichorium intybus L. ) 급여가 재래산양의 발육 및 육질에 미치는 영향

        In order to investigate effect of chicory as a roughage source for Korean native goat, studies on growth rates and carcass qualities of 21 male Korean native goats fed chicory have been conducted for 6 weeks. For the investigation, their feed intakes, body weight gains, carcass weights and carcass qualities were measured. 1. The Korean native goats fed chicory tended to grow faster than those fed with orchardgrass alone (41.0g vs 35.2 g/daily gain). When chicory was fed together with orchardgass at a ratio of 50 to 50, the goats appeared to grow even faster (53.6g/daily gain). 2. Feed intakes(㎏/day) were 0.72, 0.58 and 0.56㎏ respectively for the goats fed chicory, orchardgrass, and the mixture of chicory and orchardgrass. 3. Chicory feeding tended to improve feed conversion ratio, compared to orchardgrass (13.7 vs 20.3). 4. Dietary chicory tended to impair the tenderness and juiciness of the goat meat, but seemed to make meat flavour distinct.

        가성소다 암모니아처리가 볏짚의 사료가치 증진에 미치는 효과

        Two digestive trials were conducted to evaluate the effects of alkali-treatment (NaOH or NH₃) on digestibility and intake of rice straw. In digestion trial I, rice straw was treated with NaOH and NH₃; (1) untreated rice straw, (2) rice straw was chopped and sprayed with 4% NaOH, (3) rice straw was chopped and sprayed with 4% NaOH and pelleted, (4) rice straw was treated by NH₃. Four sheep were assigned to four treated rice straws according to the 4x4 latin square design. In digestion trial II, each four sheep were assigned to untreated rice straw and 3% NH₃ treated rice straw. NH₃ treatment increased crude protein content from 4.47 to 12.65% (P$lt;0.01) but slightly decreased NFE. NaOH treatment did not improve the chemical contents of rice straw except crude ash. Digestibility of crude protein, crude fat and crude fiber were significantly increased by NH₃ treatment while NaOH treatment increased only the digestibility of crude fiber. Cell wall content (ADF, Hemicellulose, Lignin, Cellulose, Silica) was slightly decreased by NH₃ treatment although not significant. Rice straw consumption was increased by NaOH and NH₃ treatment as well as pelleting treatment, powever no statistical significance was found (P$gt;0.05).

        닭에 의한 주요사료의 대사영양성분조사

        The metabolic study using poultry were carried out to obtain the nitrogen corrected metabolizable energy (MEn) value of the feedstuffs $quot;the Composition of Korean Feedstuffs$quot; published in 1981. The results obtained are as follows; It was found that MEn of wheat bran and rice bran were higher than that of NRC (1977) and Japanese Feed Composition (1975), respectively. MEn of rapeseed meal imported from Canada was higher than that of Yeong San and Yudal, but lower than that of NRC (1977), MEn of sesame meal was inferior to that Composition of Korean Feedstuffs (1981) and Japanese Feed Composition (1975), respectively. It was also shown that MEn of corn gluten meal was slightly higher than that of the composition of the Korean Feedstuffs.

        볏짚의 사료가치 증진을 위한 연구 1 . 암모니아 처리시 저장방법에 따른 사료가치비교

        This experiment was conducted to compare storage methods of straws for the treatment of ammonia in relation to the digestible nutrients and economical efficiency. Straws were treated with 3% anhydrous ammonia (DM basis) in stack, wire mesh (panel) silo, and oven. Metabolism trial was conducted with sheep for the determination of digestible nutrients. The following results were obtained: 1. Crude protein content was 7.49% in untreated rice straw and increased 2 times (14.71-16.04%) after ammonia treatment, while digestible crude protein contents were increased from 2.86% to 7.82-8.30% by NH₃-treatment. 2. Lignin nd cell wall contents were also decreased from 9.35. to 6.79-7.59% and from 77.19 to 72.91-73.89%, respectively, by the NH₃ treatment, but the treatment effect was less than in crude protein contents. 3. Total digestible nutrient contents were increased about 1.5 times (57.65%-61.44% vs. 41.26%) by the NH₃-treatment, but there was no any significant difference-among the storage methods. 4. Ammonia treatment of rice straw in was the least expensive of the three methods in producing a unit TDN.

        암모니아 처리 볏짚의 반추 가축에 대한 급여 효과 1 . 볏짚에 대한 암모니아처리 수준이 면양의 섭취량과 소화율및 질소 축적에 미치는 영향

        A digestion trial was carried out to evaluate the effectiveness of various levels of NH₃ treatment on the feed value of rice straw and to decide the optimum level of NH₃ treatment. Twenty four castrated Corridale sheep were randomly allotted to six treatments (0, l, 2, 3, 4 and 5% of NH₃ to air dried rice straw on weight basis), four heads(repelicates) per treatment. The results obtained were summarized as follows: 1. The NH₃ treatment markedly increased the N content of rice straw. The NDF content appeared to be decreased by the treatment. 2. The consumption of rice straw trend to be increased by ammoniation and significant(p≤ 0.05) increase was noted when the level of NH₃ was 5%. 3. Digestibility of DM increased sign ificantly(p≤0.05) when NH₃ treatment level was over 3%, while those of OM, NDF, GE over 2% and that of crude protein wash increased by and 2% NH₃ treatment, but not by over 3% of NH₃ treatment. 4. Digestibilities of DM, OM, NDF, GE slightly decreased at the NH₃ level of 5%. 5. Nitrogen retention increased significantly(p≤0.05) by ammoniation, while nitrogen retention rate increased until NH₃ treatment level of 3% but decreased when the NH₃ treatment level was over 3%. In conclusion, the NH₃ treatment increased rice straw consumption by sheep and improved digestibities of DM, NDF, crude protein and GE, thereby improving feed value. The optimum level of NH₃ treatment of rice straw seems to be 3-4% of rice straw on the basis of air-dried weight.
