In-situ Diepoxidesiloxane-based Polymer Electrolyte for Lithium-ion Batteries

The safety issues of lithium-ion batteries caused by liquid organic electrolytes have been driving individuals to seek safer electrolytes. A series of diepoxide siloxane-based polymer electrolytes have been fabricated and characterized. Herein, an in-situ crosslinking strategy was used to reduce the interface impedance between electrodes and polymer electrolyte. The obtained polymer electrolyte shows high ionic conductivity (1.16 ×10<sup>-4</sup> S cm<sup>-1</sup> at room temperature) and electrochemical window up to 4.0 V (vs. Li/Li). Meanwhile, LiCoO<sub>2</sub>/polymer electrolyte/Li shows a specific discharge capacity of 129 mAh g<sup>-1</sup> at 0.1 C. this work indicates that polydiepoxidesiloxane crosslinked by in-situ strategy yields a high-performance polymer electrolyte for future polymer electrolyte lithium-ion batteries.
