A conventional power supply to drive a microwave oven has ferro-resonant transformer and high voltage capacitor (INC). Though it is simple, transformer is bulky, heavy and has low-efficiency. To improve this defect, a high frequency switching inverter-type power supply has been investigated and developed in recent years^[1][2] But, because of It's additional circuit and devices ,inverter-type power supply IS more expensive than conventional one. In this paper, The design procedure of a novel HVC embedded high frequency transformer is proposed for down-sizing and cost reduction. Also, transformer equivalent circuit model is derived by FEM analysis and parameter measurements. And the operation of proposed HVC embedded transformer is verified by simulations and experimental results.

This paper presents a non-electrical isolated prototype of N+X redundant UPS with two-quadrant converter. Proposed topology has multl-functions of battery charge and discharge regulation, operates with a near unity input power factor, compensates unbalanced voltage on DC bus capacitors, and regenerates the circulating active power among the inverters into battery or grid And furthermore, this system adopts a novel wireless parallel operation algorithm of N+X redundant UPS system with no control interconnections Simulation and experiment results are provided in this paper to prove the validity of proposed topology and wireless control algorithm

The parallel operation system of UPS is used to increase reliability of power source at critical load. But parallel UPS system has a few defects, impedance is different from each other and circulating current occurs between UPSs, due to line impedance and parameter variation, though controlled by the same synchronization signal. According to such characteristic of parallel UPS, balanced load-sharing control is the most important technique in parallel UPS operation. In this paper, a novel power deviation compensation algorithm is proposed, it is composed of voltage controller to compensate power deviation that be calculated by using active and reactive current deviation between inverters on synchronous d-q reference frame.

This paper describes a line-interactive 3-phase active power filter with function of uninterruptible power supply. Presented control algorithm makes one converter perform two functions according to source conditions. One is APF function for harmonic current suppression caused by nonlinear loads in normal power condition and the other is for UPS when the power condition is abnormal<br/> These two changeable operation modes explain the feasibility of improving system efficiency, compared with that of UPS system which has low utilization efficiency. Hence this paper suggests the way of changing operation by a source con야tion detecting algorithm.

Compare with diode or thyristor bridge AC/DC converter, the 3 phase PWM converter has some merits of low THD and unit power factor. So, in many critical application like as UPS, using PWM converter is the trends. 3 phase PWM converter had been studied widely already. But analytical design procedure can not found from publication for hardware design and controller design. So, in this paper, 3 phase PWM converter analysis review was given. And from the DC analysis result, parameter design was done. From the AC model, the voltage controller and current controller was designed. The gain of controllers was calculated by analytical method.

An important assumption for the active power filter design using instantaneous power theory and the d-q transformation method in a 3-phase power system is based on balanced 3-phase system. However, under pratical conditions, the 3-phase power system can not be continuously balanced due to unbalanced loading. In this paper, a method to control the 3-phase active power filer using instantaneous power theory and the d-q transformation under unbalanced power system is presented and the theoretical results are verified by simulated results.

This paper discusses power balance control of<br/> photovoltaic/wind/diesel hybrid generation system for remote area power supplies. There are many control methods for hybrid power system. There are two ways in the output voltage control method in PWM inverter. One is the double loop voltage control composed of inner current control loop and outer voltage control loop. Because it shows fast response and low steady state error, utilized in many application. The Other is single loop voltage control method composed of voltage control loop only. It's characteristics shows lower performance in case of high output impedance than double loop voltage control. But in low output impedance, it shows good control performance in all load range than double loop control.<br/> In this paper, single loop voltage control rule and gain was developed analytically, and these were verified through computer simulation and experiment.

Active power filters are used to compensate reactive and harmonic CUITent on nonlinear loads. And to improve compensation characteristics of achve power filter systems, the accuracy of harmoruc currents detector and the deSIgn of CUITent controller are important In special under unbalanced condihon, nonlinear loads include low order harmonic CUITents (like 1st and 2nd order) on the synchronous reference frame due to negative sequence CUITent. Therefore Because of the bandwidth characteristic of LPF, detection of harmonic cUITents by conven1:1onal lowpass filter are maccurate.<br/> In this paper, to solve the defect of LPF for detection of CUITent under unbalanced condition, we propose the MAF(Moviing Average Filter) which has high accuracy. This MAF is consist of lowpass and bandstop filter charactenstic that remove all of harmonics. And proposed method and theoretical result are verifIed by sImulation and expenment.
