월정사 단기출가 프로그램 참여 연구 : 일반인을 중심으로

본 연구는 중년기 위기를 경험하고 내·외적 변화에 처한 사람들의 단기출가 경험에 대해 탐색하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 연구문제는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 중년의 단기출가의 동기는 무엇인가?, 둘째, 중년의 단기출가경험을 통한 변화 요인은 무엇인가?, 셋째, 단기출가를 통한 변화경험을 현재 일상생활에서 어떻게 활용하고 있는가?였다. 이를 위하여 단기출가 경험이 있는 40대~60대 중년 12명을 대상으로 반구조화된 인터뷰를 실시하고 합의에 의한 질적 분석의 방법으로 분석하였다. 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 중년의 단기출가 동기를 살펴본 결과, 인지적인 측면과 정서적인 측면의 2개 영역이 도출되었다. 인지적인 측면 영역에서 ‘나는 누구인가?’라는 실존에 대한 질문, ‘나’라는 사람에 대한 객관적인 인식 2개 범주가 도출되었다. 둘째, 단기출가 경험이 자신을 변화하게 한 요인이 무엇이었는지를 탐색한 결과, 자기를 경험, 진정성을 경험의 2개 영역이 도출되었다. 자기를 경험 영역에서 ‘나’를 만난시간, ‘나’에 대한 반성과 성찰 2개 범주가 도출되었다. 진정성을 경험 영역에서 부처님을 닮고 싶은 마음, 스님을 닮고 싶은 마음, 도반을 닮고 싶은 마음 3개 범주가 도출되었다. 셋째, 단기출가 경험이 현재 일상생활에서 어떻게 활용되고 있는지를 탐색한 결과, 앞으로 삶의 새로운 방향 발견, 사회 환경과의 관계 변화의 2개 영역이 도출되었다. 본 연구를 통해서 도출된 결과는 추후 중년을 대상으로 한 단기출가 프로그램을 구성함에 있어서 고려해야 할 사항들에 대한 기초자료를 제공할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다. The purpose of this study was to explore the short-term export experience of people who experienced the middle-aged crisis and faced internal and external changes. For this purpose, semi-structured interviews were conducted with 12 middle-aged people in their 40s and 60s who had the Short-term Entering the Buddhist Priesthood experience and analyzed by a consensual qualitative analysis method. The results of the study are as follows. First, as a result of examining the motives for the Short-term Entering the Buddhist Priesthood among middle-aged people, two domains, cognitive and emotional, were derived. In the cognitive aspect, two categories were derived: the question of existence, ‘Who am I? and ‘objective awareness of ‘me’. Second, as a result of examining the factors that caused the short-term homework experience to change, two domains were derived: 'experience self and experience authenticity'. In the domain of 'experience self', two categories were derived: the time I met the ‘I’ and the reflection on ‘I’. Third, as a result of exploring how the Short-term Entering the Buddhist Priesthood experiences are currently being used in daily life, two domains were derived: discovery of a new direction of life in the future, and change of relationship with social environment. The results of this study will be the basic data for the composition of temple stays for middle-aged women.
