The electromagnetic stirring of molten metal in the continuous casting mold is one of the most effective tools to decrease various casting defects such as macrosegregation, center cracks, and to homogenize the grain structure of the ingots. For DC casting of large diameter aluminium billets, it is important to control molten metal flow and heat transfer in order to prevent the formation of center cracks and macrosegregation. A circular inductor with minimum height producing travelling magnetic field in vertical direction has been designed with the help of a 3D numerical simulation program. The electromagnetic field, fluid and heat flows have been analysed by the numerical calculation and physical model experiment. The results of calculation agreed very well with those of experiment. It has been found that the downward stirring near the mold wall seems more efficient to homogenize the melt than the upward stirring. An optimized inductor design for stirring aluminium melt in the DC casting mold of 240 mm inner diameter have been proposed based on the result of the numerical calculation.

Attempts were to investigate the effect of Soeuminbojungikgitang on the isolated ileum, digestive system and blood pressure. The results showed that relaxing action was shown on the isolated ileum in mice and that strong antagonistic actions were seen on barium chloride, acetylcholine and histamine-induced contraction of the ileum in mice and guineapigs that the relaxing effect of the intestinal smooth muscle was recognized. Inhibitory effects on transport rate in the small intestine of mice and castor oil-induced catharsis in mice were noted. Inhibitory action on the secretion of gastric juice, pH ascending effect and decreasing effect of the free acidity and total acidity were recognized. Continuous hypotensive action was seen.

In order to evaluate the relationship between the bibliographical and clinical effectiveness of Socheongryoungtang, this study was carried out to investigate the effects of Socheongryoungtang on the respiratory system, cardiovascular system and isolated organ in thee experimental animals. The results of this investigation were summarized as follows; 1. The relaxing effect on the muscular contraction of isolated ileum induced by acetylcholine chloride, barium chloride and histamine` 2HCl was recognized in mice, rat and guinea-pigs. 2. The effect of direct vasodilatation was noted in rabbit. 3. The effect of hypotension was recognized in rabbit. 4. The antihistamine effect was noted on both isolated ileum and tracheal strip-chain in gmnea-pig. 5. The inhibitory effect on gastric ulcer induced by histamine` 2HCl was noted in rat. 6. The inhibitory effect on vascular permeability was revealed in mice. 7. The antitussive effect was recognized in both dog and cat. 8. The effect of expectorant was recognized in rabbit.

2010년을 전후로 하여 기존 미디어는 보다 강화된 컴퓨팅 기능과 플랫폼 채택, 차세대 네트워킹을 통해 스마트 미디어로 급속한 진화가 전개되고 있다. 스마트 미디어는 스피드, 인텔리전트, 소통과 개방을 통해 이용자에게 보다 편리하고 유용하며 오락적 가치를 제공하고 있으며 기업에는 새로운 비즈니스 기회를 창출하고 있다. 스마트 TV는 스마트 미디어의 핵심 서비스로 부각되고 있으며 멀티 스크린과 스마트 홈을 통해 스마트 IT 기기의 허브가 될 것으로 전망되고 있다. 본 글에서는 국내 전문가와 일반인에 대한 설문조사 결과를 바탕으로 스마트 TV에 대한 수용도를 파악하였으며 잠재 수용자의 프로파일을 분석하였다.

Ca^(2+)-ion conductors based on calcium hexaluminate with MgO have been synthesized by direct solid-solid reaction and the phase compositions near Al₂O₃-rich region of the Al₂Z₃-CaO-MgO system at 1700℃ were examined by x-ray diffraction analysis. It has been found that MgO·Al₂O₃ spinel dissolves into the CaO·6Al₂O₃ magnetoplumbite structure to form a distorted magnetoplumbite structure. The electrical conductivity of this single phase was higher than the other multi-phases. The electrical conductivity of the phase having the composition of CaO:Al₂O₃:MgO = 1:6.6:0.4 in mole ratio was about 1×10^(-2) ohm^(-1)㎝^(-1) at 1400℃ which is high enough to use as a good solid electrolyte for high temperature sensor applications.
티타늄 용해용 Cold crucible 의 설계 및 용해실험 연구

The design of a laboratory cold crucible for melting titanium and its alloys has been optimized using both the numerical simulation and the physical model experiment with tin. The electromagnetic field and magnetic pressure distribution in the cold crucible were calculated using a three dimensional finite element method. Temperature of the molten tin and titanium was measured under various electric power input and with different melt weight. The shape of the melt free surface, total melt surface area, soft-contacting area, and the Joule heating rate were also calculated. With the help of the heat transfer equation, overall heat transfer coefficient at the interface between the melt and the cold crucible was determined. With changing electric power input, stable and/or unstable melting states have occurred sequentially. Only in the stable melting state, superheating of tin and titanium, about. 70-100 K above the their melting temperatures was achieved. Overall heat transfer coefficient for tin and titanium were estimated as 3500 and 800 V/㎡K, respectively.
