산업 현장에서 발생하는 슬러지 폐기물의 에칭과 재합성을 통한 실리카 나노입자의 제조

It is known that various types of chemical wastes including sludges are generated from the industrial fields. With the rapid growth of industry, disposal costs of chemical wastes are greatly increasing. In this study, we suggest a method to extract various silica particles from sludge wastes and converting into silanol precursor by etching process via ultra-sonication method using etchant such as ammonia solution. Various etching times were examined to maximize the extracting efficiency of silanol from the sludges. With the etching time of 8 h, the largest amount of silanol precursor were extracted. Subsequently, a simple sol-gel method is processed employing the silanol precursor, and silica nanoparticles with uniform size of 50 nm were successfully synthesized by sequential hydrolysis and condensation reaction. The results of this study verified the successful recycling method of sludge waste into silica nanoparticle, which may applicable in industry near future.
