AAF(Active Air Flap) is located in the front of the vehicle and has the advantage of improving fuel efficiency by controlling the inflow of air required for engine cooling. In addition, the application rate of AAF is expanding due to recent environmental regulations and electrification of vehicles. In particular, to improve the aerodynamic performance of electric vehicles, the cooling area is reduced and moving designs are being tried to diversify the exterior design of the vehicle. In this study, we proposed a new AAF operation mechanism to realize various designs of vehicles and secure aerodynamic performance. To this end, the existing AAF operation performance was maintained and a new mechanism design such as sequential operation and grill gap-flush structure was performed.
