Demand for new information services is ever increasing as the information technology advances in an unprecedented pace. Capabilities of information technology to overcome the time and space limitations enables efficient storage and processing of a large volume of data shared by many users in geographically dispersed areas. As the users ask for more useful information services, it is necessary to develop information services to meet the needs of users. Enhancing information services is also necessary to cope actively with the pressures to open the information and telecommunications market as the level of Korean information services industry is still in its infancy. Value Added Network(VAN) services have a tremendous growth potential and its economic and social impact would be great as the information society matures. This study suggests a direction for the development of value added and new-media services based on the survey of individual and business users of information services.
국내 기업환경을 고려한 SCM(Supply Chain Management) 도입의 성공요인

본 연구는 국내기업과 선진 외국기업의 SCM 사례를 중심으로 벤치마킹을 통하여 국내 공급사슬관리(Supply Chain Management: SCM)의 도입에 적합한 성공요인을 발견하고자 한다. 참조 모델로는 SCC(Supply Chain Council)의 SCOR(Supply Chain Operations Reference-model)를 적용하여 SCM의 발전단계모형과 성공요인을 제시하고 이를 통해 국내기업의 SCM의 전략적 도입방안과 SCM의 활성화를 위한 정부의 정책에 지침을 제시하고자 한다.
The Distribution of Haptoglobin Protein Phenotype in University Gymnastic Players

Purpose: Haptoglobin (Hp) is a plasma protein that is synthesized by the liver and released into circulation and which plays an important role in iron metabolism. Methods: In this study, we investigated the distribution of Hp protein polymorphism in a university male control group and gymnast group as well as its correlation with iron metabolism. The phenotype distribution of Hp protein polymorphism was measured by polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis and peroxidase staining methods, and serum iron metabolism-associated parameters were analyzed automatically. Results: The distribution of Hp protein polymorphism was 14.0%, 42.0% and 44.0% for Hp11, Hp21 and Hp22 phenotypes, respectively. The observed phenotype distribution did not deviate from the Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium. There were no statistically significant differences in phenotype and allele frequencies between the normal control group and the gymnasts. There were significant differences in serum Hp level among each phenotype of Hp gene polymorphism (P < 0.05). In particular, the subjects with the Hp11 phenotype (118.4 ± 33.4 mg/dL) had significantly higher serum Hp concentrations than those with the Hp21 phenotype (79.5 ± 29.5 mg/dL) or the Hp22 phenotype (62.9 ± 23.3 mg/dL). This significance was maintained when the subjects were divided into the control group and the gymnast group. Conclusion: Thus, our data suggest that Hp protein polymorphism significantly affects serum Hp level in the both groups
