다익 유체기계에 적용된 부등피치가 유동성능에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구

In this paper, a numerical study has been carried out to investigate the influence of uneven blade spacing in the multiblade turbomachinery. In order to achieve an appropriate range of design and to explain the interactions between the different blade spacing and the performance in the multiblade turbomachinery system, the three-dimensional computational fluid dynamics (CFD) has been applied. Several geometric parameters of uneven blade spacing, the amplitude and the pattern of a trigonometrical function, are employed to analyze the performance in the multiblade turbomachinery. When amplitude of the trigonometrical function was increased, we could confirm that turbomachiney's performance was decreased. Also, we could confirm that turbornachiney's performance was changed when pattern of the trigometrical function was changed. These results may be used in the application of uneven pitch to reduce noise. It is suggested that CFD is a useful tool in the design of the multiblade turbomachinery.

Thermal energy storage has recently attracted an increasing interest in thermal applications, such as the heating and cooling methods used in a house. Phase change material (PCM) is an important methods that has been proposed to achieve thermal energy storage. This paper numerically investigates the process of solidification and the melting of PCM in a vertical cylinder. The properties used in the simulations, include a melting temperature of approximately 27.4°C to 28.0℃, latent and sensible heat, thermal conductivity, and the density of solid and liquid states, all of which are based on a commercially available Octadecane. Transient three-dimensional simulations were performed using ANSYS CFX 12.0 software. The computational results showed how the phase-change process was conducted. These results were expressed in terms of the temperature and liquid mass fraction of the PCM.

This paper presents a numerical study on the overall performance and local flow characteristics of the sirocco fan. The effects of impeller and volute shape distribution on the performance of the sirocco fan were numerically studied using a commercial CFD code and a DOE (design of experiments) software. At present, our attention was focused on the relation of the results of DOE and the performance of the sirocco fan. As a main result of the optimization, the performance of the sirocco fan was successfully improved. Also, detailed effects of geometric parameter of impeller and volute in the sirocco fan were discussed.

An optimization approach is investigated for the design of new nozzle system in a automatic car wash machine. Three-dimensional computational fluid dynamics and design of experiment methods have been employed to know the mutual interaction between the nozzle shape in the automatic car wash machine and the airflow velocity on the vehicle surface. The influence of selected design variables were examined as a results of optimization process. Predicted jet velocity distributions for the optimized geometry were compared with experimental data and the comparisons showed generally good agreements. Also, the performance of the dryer was improved with the optimized results.
